Mauro Del Duca purchased this apartment in 1987
This old flat was bought by my family many years ago to have a small pied-a-terre in the historical center.
A stay at Fiori Flat give both the tourist and business traveler alike the possibility to experience the atmosphere of an authentic 1400's Roman apartment.
A unique and unrepeatable experience in an extraordinary setting in the heart of eternal Rome.
The location of Fiore Flat is simply superlative; in via Mario de Fiori at corner with via Frattina, one of the most important street of the historical center.
Between the Fountain of Trevi and the Pantheon, Piazza Navona and the Spanish Steps. For the business traveler getting around is really easy.
The flat has many positives: great location, wifi that works well, it is well maintained, the check in and check out process is really smooth, is quite roomy given the fact that it is in central location, everything works as described in the webpage.
One disadvantage is that the bathroom lacks of privacy but this could be fix quite easily.
The owner and city manager are reliable.
The flat was in an awesome location (2 minutes walk to Spanish steps) with an easy walk to all the popular tourist attractions including the Vatican. It is also close to tons of restaurants, cafes and supermarkets. It was clean and in very good condition and there was plenty of room for our family of four. For the location, very surprised to see that the apartment was quiet in the nights. Nicola and Mauro were extremely accommodating and helpful. They even arranged for pickup and drop off to the nearby train station. We will definitely stay here again next time. We would highly recommend it!
We were more than happy with our stay at the apartment. On our arrival we were greeted by Danniella who was very helpful and gave a very thorough run down of the apartment and left us with no concerns. Its in a great location plenty of shops, eateries etc nearby. It is very spacious and was clean and well maintained.
The flat is in a great location, very comfortable for my family. All the necessities for a great stay in Rome....Mauro and Nicola were great!!
Condo is close to everything from Spanish Steps to Vatican. Restaurant around the area are fantastic. Nicola, the property manager is reliable. Fully recommended.
I'll first review all the positives of the flat. This was our first visit to Rome and we stayed 7 days. The apartment location is GREAT! You can walk around the corner to the Spanish Steps. The Trevi Fountains are just a short walk away. Even the Colosseum is within walking distance. There are tons of eateries and shops only a short distance away. You are right in the middle of the historic centre of Rome. The apartment manager and her husband were really helpful with all the details about the community and where to find the things you'll need. Make note that because of the location of the apartment, everything is a bit more pricey; you're in the middle of the tourist area.
Now for the negatives. I booked the apartment though an agency called EasyDomus. The pictures here on VRBO are a little different from the ones on the EasyDomus site. Just know that by American standards, this is a very small apartment; especially the toilet; you can barely turn around in it. Also, the toilet is all glass... no privacy. And there's no bath tub. Speaking of glass... be very with the kitchen table as it's all glass with unfinished corners. Definitely not safe especially if you have small children. There's a flight of stairs that will take you to your door. Television is available but ONLY Italian stations; no satellite. The DVD only plays PAL format DVDs so basically it's of no use. The bedding is horrible. There are no box springs... just a mattress on a metal frame. I couldn't get one night of good sleep! There's a lot of noise that comes from the streets below. At night the crowds can get pretty rowdy and you'll hear every bit of the commotion. The appliances take a little bit of getting use to but that wasn't really that bad. The electrical connections can be a pain. Make sure you get the manager to show you how to use them once you arrive. There is very little privacy in the large sleeping areas; no doors at all, just curtains. Bottom line is if I had to make the selection again, this would not be my choice. I'm just use to something a little different.
The Fiori Flat is in Via Mario de Fiori on the corner of Via Frattina, one of the most important Rome's fashion street, simply perfect for both the tourist and business traveler alike.
From a touristic point of view, all of the major world renowned sights to see in Rome, visited by millions of people every year, like the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Roman Forums, and the Colosseum, can be reached on foot within 5 to 10 minutes while walking down the characteristic vias, side streets, and piazzas with monuments and statues along the way. A gift that only a unique city like Rome can give offer its visitor.
