4th of July with amazing lake view

  • 5 of 5

The view! The view! this is an amazing cabin above the lake with 180deg lake and mountain views from three balconies and a short walk to the lake and trails. There was plenty of room for our family, in-laws, kids, and dog. Everyone had a great time playing pool, board games, Jacuzzi, and nightly sunset BBQ's on the deck.

We are looking forward to visiting this cabin in the winter next time.

Father's Day Extended Weekend

  • 5 of 5

My family (three adults, 13 year old, and a 4 year old) had a wonderful time at this cabin. Great location near the lake! The place was well described and there were no surprises when we arrived... other than how big the place actually was. Hot tub was relaxing and the views were perfect. Even with the power down for almost a day and a morning, due to the major fires (not fault of cabin), we had a wonderful time. The snooker pool table reminded me of how bad I am at pool, but otherwise, we are hoping to stay at this place again in the near future. The owner was very courteous and easy to get a hold of. Thanks for the happy father's day!

exceeded expectations

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I originally booked this trip on airbnb, but property was double booked with Jim's property manager. As a result, Jim offered another weekend on him due to the mishap. It was very kind of him to offer and everyone was ok to make the adjustment.

When we arrived on the property, we couldn't have been more surprised! The house was exceeded everyone's expectations. We wish we had more snow and look forward to next year when we make plans again to visit Jim's cabin. Loved it!

Awesome house in a great location.

  • 5 of 5

There were six adults and four children in our group that stayed three nights. There was plenty of room for everyone. The great room is huge and we spent most of our time in the house there, playing pool, playing games and watching TV on the nicest tv I've ever seen! We barbecued, watched the sunset over the lake and enjoyed the fire pit at night. Between everything there was to do at the house and spending time in town and at the snow we didn't even get a chance to use the hot tub. The rooms were large, spread out and comfortable. We are already planning to come back in the summer.

Thanks James!

Our White Christmas!

  • 4 of 5

We all hoped for a white Christmas and all that wishing paid off. Christmas eve eve we got 12" and another 4" on Christmas eve. The views of the lake and mountains were mesmerizing before, during and after the snow. The cabin comfortably fit my family of 6 plus my daughter's friend totaling 7.

The 3rd floor great room is the best part of the house. It's expansive, impressive and has the best views. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, dishes and pot/pans. A little worn, some broken, but we made it work for every breakfast, lunch and dinner. Range is gas and burners don't get very hot. Boiling water was a time chore and only with a lid. Oven was about 100 degrees off setting. Fridge door ice maker dispenser did not work and the ice maker didn't make ice. The wood burning fireplace (with blower) was awesome but just plan on replacing any wood you burn (wood pile down behind garage). Competition sized pool table kept the kids busy. Furniture in the great room is a 6 out of 10. Worn but nice. There was a grill and an outside fire pit but we didn't use either. Be prepared to remove all trash from the house yourself and take to the local trash site.

Bedrooms were great but the beds had complaints by all except second master.

Master on second floor is very big. Master bath was nice but needs some maintenance. Bath tub pull out wand broken off at tub. Master shower door handle was falling off. Master had two leather chairs, both worn and one had the stuffing exposed on both arms.

Pot belly electric stoves in both masters did not work. Bed size in second master is a full, not a queen. Closets in both masters were full and used as storage.

No access to the garages was a hindrance in getting our stuff in and out of the house. You have to use front door entry with stairs. Getting to the wood after the snow required us to shovel snow off the deck and down 2 flights of steps to get to the wood pile. Easy access from garage that was locked.

The heater with a Nest controller worked great/even and there weren't any hot/cold areas in the house. Wood fireplace kept the 3rd floor toasty.

Has blazing fast internet! 65MBPS! There was only one towel each, which was bothersome.

Ok, these are the details I look for in a review. That being said, the cabin itself is wonderfully done and beautiful inside and out. The views are priceless and worth every penny, even at 2x the rate at Christmas. A little updating and maintenance and It would have 5 stars.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your comments. We are replacing the stove/oven on 1/12/17. We replaced the sofa and large chair in the great room just this past year. Not sure why you referred to the furniture as outdated. I will look to repair the ice dispenser and master bath on my upcoming visit. The two master closets are not full and are available to the guests. The rental agreement indicates that the garage is not available for guests as we store our personal items there. In addition, the rental agreement specifies that the guests are responsible for emptying the trash upon departure. I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay and will visit our property again.
