Basalt GEM

  • 5 of 5

Anyone looking to have an absolutely BEAUTIFUL place to sleep, host dinners, and have a little fun, this is the gem for you to call "home" during your vacation. The owners provided excellent instructions and left a gracious welcoming gift of wine and chocolates for us to enjoy upon our arrival. The home was incredibly clean and well-maintained, it offered an enormous kitchen for hosting (one that would rival a chef's home kitchen), and had a great game room for entertainment (air hockey anyone?)...not to mention all of the spacious bedrooms which offered a bathroom either within or just near (very convenient). It has an amazing view as well...there's a hot tub, fire places to cozy up to in a couple of lovely living rooms, I could go on and on...the place is simply stunning. Location is wonderful...just ten to fifteen minutes from any shopping, fishing, golfing, spas, restaurants, etc. you would plan for. I would recommend staying here to anyone interested in taking time to enjoy the beautiful Colorado mountains and all they have to offer! You will be thoroughly pleased at your stay!

Beautiful home for our Aspen wedding

  • 5 of 5

This was my first time using HomeAway, and I was extremely pleased with my experience. Peter was very responsive to my emails leading up to our visit and very quick to respond via text when I had questions during our stay. We arrived a little early on check-in day, and Peter was at the house double-checking that all was in place for our visit. He was even so sweet to leave us a few bottles of wine and a bowl of chocolates - a nice surprise :). The home is *beautiful*, very clean, and was a perfect get-together setting for our small family wedding in Aspen over the 4th of July. Everything we needed was readily available and there was ample space for everyone to mingle. We could have fit twice as many people in the home - it's huge! I wish we had had more time to really enjoy the pool, community facilities, fireplace, hot tub, outdoor deck - we could easily have stayed here a few more days to relax post-wedding. I would definitely recommend staying here for any large family or friend gathering - you won't be disappointed. It's convenience to Carbondale, Basalt and Aspen can't be beat. Thanks again, Peter!

Incredible Weekend Retreat

  • 5 of 5

This is an absolutely incredible home. Our stay included myself and 13 other guests who each had plenty of room within the home. As others have said, the pictures do not do it justice. Unfortunately due to the time of our arrival we were unable to meet Peter, but his help and wealth of information both before and throughout the stay was spectacular. Had we run into any issues he was only a phone call away, and was always prompt when we had a question. The home was perfect upon arrival and was even better than we expected. It took a little while to explore the house as it is much larger than it seems. The location was perfect for our memorial day getaway as it is fairly close to some scenic Colorado hikes such as Maroon Bells and Hanging lake which are absolutely breathtaking. There are plenty of restaurants and stores near the home to include a whole foods which made cooking/eating at the home even easier. The neighborhood that the house lies within is quiet, absolutely gorgeous, and filled with many friendly people as well. We were able to use every amenity in the home such as the hot-tub with ease as it was all easily accessible and preset to our stay. Our entire group was able to grill on the back porch and lounge around the fire pit in the evenings. If you are looking for a place to stay in the Carbondale area, then this is the perfect home for larger groups. We are looking forward to another stay (hopefully in the near future). Thanks again Peter!

Better than the pictures!

  • 5 of 5

When planning a trip for 14 people, finding somewhere to stay is by far the most difficult part. We were so fortunate to find this amazing home that fit all of us with out a problem! We were a group of 14 friends, all adults, and we had no problem with sleeping arrangements or privacy. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The house is centrally located to just about anything we wanted to do. It was about 40 minutes from Aspen/Snowmass- we used the public bus system that picked up about 5 minutes from the house so we didn't get stuck in any traffic (our visit was during the Xgames). While the bus system was overworked during our visit, on a normal weekend this would be a fantastic option. The hot springs are extremely close as well- which is an amazing experience that I highly recommend. The house itself exceeded all expectations and was very difficult to leave. We arrived to detailed welcome letter, a couple bottles of wine, and an extremely clean (and warm) house, it was perfect! We are already planning our stay for next year!

Gorgeous Property

  • 5 of 5

Immaculate. Well-appointed. Palatial. From the game room for every type of family competition to the Great Room with a roaring fireplace, this house is designed for a family holiday filled with tradition. My family spent Christmas week here and, although I lost every game of ping pong, foosball, air hockey, and Saboteur, we still had a fabulous time. Peter was always available - even offered to shovel the snow off the walk way for us. But imposing on him was never a necessity - everything we needed was right there. Great host and lovely home.

Really convenient having Whole Foods nearby as well as a small market for last minute needs. Just 30 minutes from Aspen/Snowmass it was very convenient to skiing/snowboarding as well as to the Yampah and Iron Mountain Hot Springs in Glenwood.
