A DAY IN THE LIFE AT PRINCEVILLE
Start your morning with a barefoot stroll along the surf at Anini Beach, just a short walk from your townhouse, and feel the warm white sand between your toes. In the Spring you might see a Humpback Whale or two breaching offshore, and you’ll see Hawaiian Sea Turtles most anytime of the year. Finish your walk with a dip in the warm waters of the Pacific or swim in the pool at Puamana.
Enjoy breakfast while gazing at the ocean from your lanai. The menu includes fresh apple bananas, papaya, and mangos from the Farmer’s Market.
The day presents a palette of activities. Rent a kayak and paddle up the river. Or rent a paddleboard and cruise around Hanalei Bay. Snorkel with the turtles and monk seals off Haena Beach. Learn to surf. Go browsing among the unique shops in Hanalei. Go horseback riding or ziplining. Hit the Farmer’s Market for fresh organic fruits and vegetables. Hike down to Queen’s Bath. Or, if you’re really up for an experience, drive past Hanalei to the end of the road and hike on the Kalalau Trail along the spectacular Napali Coast. Play one of Princeville’s world class golf courses. Or what the heck, just kick back on the beach all day.
It is 6:00 PM and time for watching the sun set behind Bali Hai which is conveniently viewed from your lanai. The sky turns the color of a Mai Tai as you relax in the warmth of the tropical evening. Decisions, Decisions. Will it be a quiet night sitting on the cliffs listening to the crashing surf or dinner at one of Princeville’s fabulous restaurants? Whatever the choice you can be sure the night will end with the sounds of the tropical night lulling you to sleep. Life is good.
Oh, and a few words about your island home: Puamana 12B is a highly desirable townhouse on the golf course with ocean views and lots of air and light filling your living area. You even have a peak at Bali Hai through an old Banyan tree. The golf course location means no foot traffic past your living area and you don’t have to look at any other units---just the green golf course and the ocean, making it quite private and peaceful.

I first came to Hawaii in 1973 and fell immediately in love. I started a business on Oahu and later lived on Maui for 8 years. I retired 17 years ago and began traveling. I am now a full time world traveler but always return to the islands when I circle around to this part of the globe. This photo, taken in Alberobello, Italy, is me with my 3 loves--my 2 beautiful daughters and my '76 Westfalia Bus.
Roy Bruder purchased this condo in 2012
I have traveled the world and been on hundreds of islands, and there is no tropical island more beautiful than Kauai's North Shore. Hanalei is a timeless and authentic Hawaiian town and Hanalei Bay is a true Polynesian setting with a perfect beach and a gentle sea surrounded by verdant mountains. Staying in Princeville gives you best of both worlds. You are a few minutes from Hanalei yet high on a ridge overlooking the ocean with cooling breezes and great sunsets in the comfort of a secure development. There is a full service supermarket within a short walk as well as numerous restaurants and shops. I don't even bother renting a car when I'm here. There is a bus stop just a short walk away which will get you most places on the island. And, it isn't bad living so close to the beach.
I looked at dozens of condos in Princeville and 12B attracted me immediately. The townhouse still had all the original kitchen and bath cabinets and fixtures so I knew it would require a major remodeling project, but the quiet and private setting on the golf course coupled with a beautiful ocean view sealed the deal for me. It was so bright and airy where others seemed cramped and dark. A $90,000 remodel was completed in December 2012.
Roy's vacation rental is on a wonderful spot. It is adjacent to a Westin with an upscale restaurant and outdoor dining if desired. It is also on the 12th fairway of the Makai golf course at the lanai and a veiw of the ocean (great view). If you are a golfer and bring your own clubs, the Makai will store them until your next round so you could walk to the pro shop. My wife used her back pack to walk to Food Land market in the Princeville shopping center for her exercise.
The unit was well equipped, comfortable, and suprisingly quiet. Roy has also supplied many DVD movies and music if you are interested. Overall my wife was happy that I picked Roy's unit at Puamana to spend the week. We'll be back !
My bf and I stayed here a couple of weeks ago. We arrived on the island late in the evening and check in was super easy. Directions to the condo were very clear and entry instructions were simple. It is a small parking lot but we didn't have trouble finding spaces each day. There is a bed upstairs and one downstairs. We chose to stay upstairs and even though there is no A/C in the unit we ran the fan and it was even a little chilly at night. downstairs during the day is a different story. it gets rather warm but still manageable. The condo was well stocked with towels, toiletries, laundry detergent and even some items in the kitchen such as coffee filters, coffee, etc. there were also chairs and mats to use for the beach. we explored the entire island and found that we really enjoyed the Princeville area the best. The hike down to the beach from the unit can be a little discouraging but we passed several people along the way doing just fine with it. it is a little steeper than you expect going down and could get very muddy if its raining. thankfully we went on a dry day. once you're down there, theres a lot of rock on the beach at the end of the trail but some open space to the right for spending the day. we couldn't walk far enough to the left to be able to see the sunset the night we went down. overall it was a really nice area and a nice condo. the only reason i gave 4 stars is because we like to have A/C and this condo didn't have it. otherwise, everything was great.
My husband and I stayed in Roy's condo with our 2 small children this past August. We had a great stay, would definitely return, and recommend this rental. The condo was beautifully decorated, and very comfortable with all the amenities needed in a "home away from home". Communication with Roy was a breeze, and we received our deposit within a few days of returning home. This was our fifth time visiting Kauai, but our first time staying in Princeville, and we loved it. The grounds were beautifully kept and the neighborhood was very quiet--you don't even notice your neighbors. We loved walking to the local park with our children, through the neighborhood, and down to Anini beach. You will not be disappointed staying here!
My husband and I had a great stay on Kauai. From the beginning the communication with Roy was fantastic. He responded quickly and comprehensively to any queries we had and in the property itself there is a book detailing everything you need to know for your stay. The condo was very comfortable and well set up with every need catered for. We would highly recommend to anyone.
This was our first trip to Hawaii. We stayed at Roy's condo and by the time we left we felt like we were leaving home. Beautiful, serene view off the lanai! Wear insect repellent so you can enjoy it! The beach is a short walk away but has a steep incline, so don't wear flip flops - they work but make the trek more difficult. The condo area is very quiet - nice! Roy had excellent communication with me from start to finish. A very nice stay! Oh, and he has everything you need for the beach - that was very helpful!
Plan to return again in 2017 if there are openings. We love Roy's condo. It is peaceful, well decorated, clean and spacious. Has everything you need and more. Sitting out on the patio with our coffee & tea viewing the golf course and ocean in the distance is just perfect as well as the short walk to the beach. Thank you again, looking forward to the coming year's vacation.
