Equidistant between Charolles and Cluny , and 30 kilometers from the wine regions of Vire Clesse , Pouilly Fuise and the Beaujolais hills . There are prehistoric caves at Aze , and at Bergeserin (10 ks) an adventure park for the brave at heart. Walking is the most popular passtime in the area with hundreds of kilometers of tracks in forests and tiny country lanes.
Fishing is another activity keenly supported by the local community. Maps and permits are easy to obtain at the local mairie. If you want history , the Chateau of Cormatin is only 20 minutes drive away with it's medieval kitchen gardens and 16th century interiors it is a 'must see' in the area. The tourist office at Cluny has a list of Chateaux to visit in the area. Cluny itself is a lively town with the remains of the largest church in Christendom still very evident in the main square.

Why Victoria Fernandez chose Pressy-sous-Dondin
I fell in love with this property for three reasons , the views , the quiet and the large garden .
What makes this Cottage unique
The views are truly gorgeous . The hamlet is small and the road very quiet. This a place to enjoy natural beauty and commune with nature. There are extensive walks to be made in all directions through forests and fields. The paths are well defined. Despite the feeling that you are a hundred miles from civilization , there is a small town nearby (6 kilometers) that has all amenities including a large supermarket that also sells petrol. * Star gazers take note ; As there is little extra light the night sky is easily vewable .

This is a jewel if you like quiet beautiful Burgundy countryside. It is only a little off thr beaten track and much better for it. All amenities provided as long as you are not addicted to high speed internet. Could not be better in my view and a charming and gracious host.
Thank you for your review !
I am delighted that you enjoyed The Cottage and
I hope to welcome you back to Les Marions very soon
Very peaceful - roomy and well appointed accommodation
We had a very pleasant stay in this accommodation. It is in a lovely peaceful rural setting. The house is attractively furnished, roomy and well equipped for around 6 people. However, because of the distribution of space, there is only one bedroom - which is particularly spacious and attractive - and it is hard to see where further people might sleep. It is a few miles from the nearest shops/activities so not for those who need a lot of distractions! It was ideal for what we needed - a get away from it all R & R. The owner lives on the site and was pleasant and helpful without being intrusive.
Tranquillity and sunshine in rural Burgundy.
The cottage is fabulously equipped with everything one would need for a superbly tranquil and restful holiday. Victoria had really taken on board the needs of her guests and even provided us with two wonderfully attentive dogs who appeared punctually at meal times on our terrace! We of course succumbed to their French friendliness and shared the odd meal with them but not the wonderful Cremant de Bourgoine that we found in the local supermarche. We had a super stay in this lovely property which was perfect for a couple who love tranquility and easy access to the many interesting Abbeyes and chateaux in the region.
The Abbeys at Cluny and Para Le Monial, the castle at Brancion and the Rock of Solutre are absolute places one must visit. There are great Burgundy reds to have in abundance and Charolais beef for barbecues to purchase in all supermarkets. Naturally we felt that we had a duty to support these local producers! We visited the Saturday market in Beaune which was about an hours drive away and bought the most amazing Goats cheese, artisan bread and charcuterie produce before visiting the Hotel de Deu or hospital with its amazing roof and history. For the visitor who wants both a restful setting and easy access to historical sites Les Marions is perfect!
Thank you for your review .
It was a pleasure to welcome you to the Cottage and I feel privileged that you chose my property to celebrate your honeymoon .
Come back soon !
All the best,
Splendid views: spacious comfort
very enjoyable. Why 4 not 5 stars is the inconvenience of having to drive to get bread; I don't want to use my car every day.
Welcoming, informed, and also a well equipped kitchen. My only suggestion here would be a small electric blender for soups, smoothies or whatever -- nothing fancy or expensive but v useful. We both would recommend strongly.
Thank you for your review .
It is true that the house is in the country which explains the peace and quiet as well as the beautiful views.
The nearest town with a boulangerie is 7 kilometres away , a five to 7 minute car drive. Many of my guests feel like you and don't want to get in their car every day . Some of them bring bicycles , some buy extra bread and freeze it .
Thank you for the suggestion of an electric blender. I had not thought many people would want one but why not ? If it improves the experience of The Cottage then I am all for it !
We had a fantastic time at Les Marions!! We would definitely like to return in the future.
Victoria was a wonderful hostess. We enjoyed our time at her place, that was very quiet, peaceful and in a great location. It was also nice to visit with Victoria and she gave us plenty of suggestions on where to go. Her place is highly recommended, very clean, comfortable and felt like home. We really liked our time with you and your pets. Thank you for everything!! Sincerely, Paul & Ann
A beautiful property in a beautiful position.Extremely well equipped and well presented. Ideal for a quiet get-away. A car is essential.A pleasant and helpful owner and two beautiful very friendly dogs!
Set in the hills of the Charolais, close to historic Cluny . The house is set on 7 undulating acres , next to but slightly behind the owner's house .The garden has a beautiful water feature. It is surounded by green fields and forests . Enjoy walking, biking, golfing, tennis, horse riding or just lazing around by the pond. Tranquillity, quiet ,wild life watching , comfort and natural beauty are the key words to describe this property. 5 minutes from St Bonnet de Joux , a village that has a large supermarket and gas station , a bank, a chemist a bakery, a butcher , a tabac and a medical centre. 17 minutes to Cluny, 20 minutes to Charolles , 35 minutes to the Macon TGV train station, 1 hour to Lyon airport and 2 hours to Geneva. For wine buffs the fabulous wines of the Maconais , Beaujolais and Cote D'Ore are all within easy reach .
