Really cool old house in a fantastic location
The house had a lot of character and was perfect for our group. We could not have asked for a better location. It was in the heart of town only two blocks form Elk, the main thoroughfare. Awesome place in an awesome town!
Comfortable and in excellent location.
I grew up in Crested Butte and not coming back. Being able to stay in town and not bunk with friends was a delight. Okay she was great weather was perfect
Close to town, comfortable
Great home, walkable to the cute town of Crested Butte. Only a few miles from the base and easy to drive to beautiful hikes. Really helpful to have laundry on site with a 3 year old! We loved our weekend in CB!
We were very disappointed from the moment we arrived. First let me say that out of all the places we have stayed through VRBO this was the first time the owner misrepresented the rental in the description. This is not a house rental! It's a home that has been divided up into two apartments. You can't even really call this a duplex either because there are two doors in the apartment that lead to the other unit. The doors are locked(of course) and the apartment side does not have the privilege to open only the people living in the other unit can open. At least a duplex would have completely separate living quarters, a sense of privacy and security and better insulated walls. It was the next thing that happened that caused us to call the owner and request a refund. My wife and 2 year old daughter went to take a shower and not more than 2 minutes after getting in the shower did the hot water stop. So now my daughter is wet in the shower with no hot water. I called Sarah the owner and explained to her what had happened and that we just wanted to leave and get our money back but she just lectured me on how it's too late for that and that we did in fact have the entire house to ourselves. I told her that's impossible if there is someone else living on the other side of the walls. She was rude to say the very least and denied misrepresenting her rental in the description. Sarah did call someone to look at the hot water heater and he(nice guy) said with the size water heater that was installed we could only expect to get roughly 5 minutes of hot water. So basically we all had to take 5 minute showers and then wait 30 minutes for the water to heat back up before the next person could take a shower. Also, the pictures are not up to date. They make the rental look much nicer than it is. There are several off street parking spots in the driveway but were not available to us our entire stay. We had to park on the grass in front of the house. Crested Butte is a beautiful place but I strongly recommend not staying at this place!
These were rude and unpleasant to me in all of our interactions. I did my best to correct their complaints. Apparently they are used to renting homes that are more expensive. Our home is simple and cozy and small. It is marketed truthfully. It is a duplex house and is deeded that way. It is not "apartments".
I have rarely dealt in my 20 years of renting this home with a dissatisfied guest and never with such rude people. I highly recommend not renting to this family.
My husband and I, along with my sister and her husband, stayed there from February 25 to March 3. The house is very cozy and in a perfect location to walk to the Main Street of crested butte! The only time we got on our car was to drive to ski. There is also a shuttle that picks you up a few blocks away from the house that can take you up to the mountain if you don't want to drive. Sallee was very responsive and I enjoyed speaking with her- would definitely rent this house again!
Great location, comfortable accommodations
Perfect spot for walking to dining, shopping, nordic center, and town shuttle bus stop. Cozy interior that easily accommodated two couples and a toddler. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking, plenty of towels in the bath, wifi, and all the conveniences that make traveling smooth. We had a fantastic stay and can't wait to return to Crested Butte soon!
