About Brian

Brian O'Keefe owns Mooretown Sawmill as well as several rental properties in the local mountain area. Born and raised in Mooretown, Brian had a dream of carving out the land and creating a successful sawmill.

His dream became a reality in 1987. Mooretown Mill is located in the beautiful mountains of Northeast Pa. near the unforgettable Rickett's Glen State Park. Here at Mooretown, we use local timber to produce a quality product.

That same product and craftsmanship can be found in all of Brian's rental properties producing a beautiful rustic feel. He takes great pride in the quality of his work and enjoys sharing that with others.

All of our renters will tell you that Brian will go out of his way to ensure your stay is unforgettable.

In his spare time (if any) he enjoys jaunts on his KTM motorcycle, and is an active member in many organizations dealing with educating the youth of PA in the logging industry; his passion and joy.

He lives at Mooretown with his Black Labs, Echo and Bear Cub.

Brian purchased this house in 2009

Could not have asked for better accommodations & location. Close to trail heads & after we hiked all day this was the paradise to come back to. For seven of us it was still do-able even with futons & cot. Will definitely stay again. Luv the history & fun facts about the cabin & family sawmill. Thank u for a great place to explore and kick back!

Cabin interior is exceptional...be sure to visit the owners sawmill if you stay.

Location is perfect . We have visited Ricketts Glen as a day trip several years ago...to be able to spend a week was fantastic! Hiked several trails at Ricketts, as well as Worlds End, High Knob & Loyalsock Forest...Lake Jean was great for Kayaking.

My sister and I choose this lovely cabin for a weekend get away. I almost had to cancel due to some scheduling problems and Stephanie was so kind as to help me with any changes I needed to make. Fortunately we were able to go and had a wonderful time in this beautiful hidden treasure! Every time you look around you will appreciate something new they have created in the owners saw mill. On Saturday we scaled the waterfalls on Ricketts Glen State Park and went to the beach at Lake Jean for a swim and some sun. We had fires at night and in the morning by the great fire pit Brian and Stephanie installed in the back and even called them for some dinner choices at their Mill and Brian was so kind as to help us out. We are hoping to make it back to this area of PA and will definitely stay here if it is available.

Diamond Jane's is a real gem!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this cabin. We loved the fireplace and fire pit. The kitchen had everything we needed. The unit was spotless. The entire interior has been updated; the woodwork craftsmanship is impressive. There is plenty of comfortable seating locations. There are several couches, lots of chairs and 3 tables. This a great place for families and small parties. The owners were friendly and responsive. We would recommend this unit to others.

Little bit of heaven!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent two nights at this cabin for our 35th wedding anniversary. We were quite surprised. The interior is stunning! We didn't need a thing, it was all there. Very well stocked and clean. We spent most of our time by the fire pit out back where we even cooked our dinners. It was a very quiet and relaxing weekend! Thank you both for sharing your little bit of heaven with us!!!

What a gem!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you so much for a wonderful stay! We are a family of 5 who stayed in this adorable cabin for 2 nights! I tricked our family before we left telling them we would be "roughing it" so everyone was pleasantly surprised and so excited when we got there! We enjoyed hiking, swimming in the lake, grilling, sitting by the firepit and playing games at night. The cabin was very clean, spacious and had everything we needed for our stay! The owners are extremely kind and went over the top to make sure we were happy. Very convenient to everything at Ricketts Glen. The Red Rock corner store was less then a minute's drive which was nice. We hope to be back! Thanks again!
