Centrally located close to Traverse City and the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, this 4+ bedroom, 2 bath home on Bryan Lake in Lake Ann has 151 feet of private frontage. The updated kitchen with stainless appliances enjoys a great view of the lake which is just 20 feet from the large front deck. You can sit inside at the kitchen table or cook dinner and see your family playing at the beach, swimming from the dock or raft, or sitting around the beachfront bonfire pit.
The master bedroom has a birch log headboard and queen sized bed as well as french doors overlooking the lake. The second bedroom has a queen sized canopy bed as well as a daybed. The third bedroom has a queen bed. The fourth bedroom has a twin over full bunk bed. There is a den with a futon couch and french doors opening up to the lake. The den is a pass through room to get to the master bedroom. However guests are able use the exterior french doors that open to the porch to alleviate the need to walk through the den to get to the master bedroom.
The living room has a gas log freestanding wood stove, large LED flat screen TV, and french doors that open up to the lake. Premium cable with HBO, ESPN, Big Ten Network etc. is included.
There is a separate gameroom cabin on site that the owners call 'The Treehouse.' 'The Treehouse' has a pool/air hockey/ping pong table, a flat screen TV/DVD as well as a futon couch and twin rollaway bed--but there is no bathroom.
Swimming beach comes with a swim raft, rowboat, paddle boat, canoe and two kayaks. The house has a front loading washer and dryer, stainless gas grill, and two car garage.

Bethany Flechter purchased this house in 2012
Bethany grew up on Bryan Lake. She has many wonderful childhood memories of the lake from learning how to swim, to fishing, to catching turtles, to endless hours of just playing in the water with friends and her brothers. Her immediate family all still live in the area and trips north every week in the summer are the norm. The family could hardly believe their luck when this great home on Bryan Lake became available. While not able to live in the home permanently yet, the couple looks forward to teaching their young children how to swim, catch turtles, fish and enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the lake when the home is not rented out during the summer.
The Village of Lake Ann is centrally located between Traverse City to the East, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lake Shore to the West, Leelanau Wineries to the North and Interlochen Arts Academy to the South. Day trips to all of these locations are short and easy, but the home and lake themselves have plenty to keep everyone occupied and happy.
Bryan Lake is a small, non-motorized boat lake. A cup of coffee can be enjoyed on the deck or dock in peace and quiet and kids can swim and play safely without worry of speedboats or jet skis. Loons can be heard on the lake at night and bald eagles frequently fly overhead. The lake is great for fishing, turtle hunting, swimming or just enjoying a leisurely boat ride.
For those who enjoy water skiing etc, all sports Ann Lake is literally just across the street and a boat launch is only a mile away.
Our family of 11 stayed in the house for a week at the end of June. The house was very clean and the owners were great communicators. They even pointed out some great beaches on Lake Michigan to check out which we did. The house was well equipped with plenty of activities on-site for the kids and adults. The kids especially enjoyed the tree house and playing there. Several of us enjoyed the swimming raft, the provided kayaks and row boat. The water in the lake is so clear and calm...it was just beautiful! The large dining table was particularly awesome as it was able accommodate all 11 of us. The week just slowed down and was very relaxing!
Small for our family of 10. One Bedroom you couldn't open the closet doors without standing on the bed, this room has very little air circulation and there is no air conditioning, one other bed room is a walk thru.
Living room seating for 5 people. Kitchen was small for more than 2 people preparing food.
Limited bath (tp) and kitchen dishwashing supplies.
Driveway and parking is a challenge for more thn 2 vehicles
On a Good note........
Master bedroom and one other bedroom is very nice.

Seating in Dining room did accomadate our group
Game room was fun ...sliding door is diffficult to open tho for the kids especially
Close to attractions.
I would not stay here again, and would not reccomend for a large group that plans on spending most of their vacation right at the house as we did. We have stayed at other vacation rentals that were double and some triple the size of this house on a lake for about the same price, one on lake huron. We still had alot of fun, but were disappointed when we arrived with the size of the house.
Our family of 10 spent a week on Lake Bryan and had a blast! This house was the perfect size for all of us to have our own space yet were close enough to spend the time together we wanted. The kitchen had pretty much everything you need. Plenty of seating for all around the kitchen table. The beds were extremely comfortable and there are more then enough towels, linens, pillows, and blankets. The home was also very clean!
We used the row boat and the paddle boat a lot and had a blast on the lake.
Lake Ann is a short walk away and had lots to do. The beach, the store, the pizza place, the playground, and the best beer at Lake Ann Brewing Company. Everyone was so friendly.
The house is very close to Traverse City which has tons of things to do. Sleeping Bears Dunes park was incredible. Lake Michigan is beautiful. Empire Bluffs is a must! We also went to Glen Arbor which was extremely quaint.
Thanks so much to the owners who personally answered every question we had and were extremely helpful with giving us direction not only with their home but with the entire area.
We would highly recommend this home to anyone!
PS- Good luck finding the 6th bear :)
Our family spent a very peaceful week on Lake Bryan during the Cherry Festival (My son won a pie eating contest). This is a big house, suitable for a big family, with a well equipped kitchen. My 13 year old son really enjoyed playing air hockey and pool in the game house. We were able to drive to Traverse City easily and visited Sleeeping Bear dunes. This house in a perfect location to check out some of the interesting small towns nearby, such as Glen Arbor. I swam and paddled in the kayak on the lake, which was small enough for me to smim across everyday. There were so few people on the lake if seemed as if it was my private lake. I also sat on the dock and watched the lake for hours and bonded with a nesting duck. Very peaceful week in a very nice home.
Our favorite family vacation is a week in Northwest MI and this was the best one yet! My sister's family came with us for a total of 13-middle school, HS and college students and adults. The home is beautiful, roomy and had everything we could have wanted; and the owners are incredibly helpful and friendly. The weather was great and we were able to visit the dunes, Leland, Empire and Traverse City as well as enjoy the boats on Bryan Lake each day. We definitely recommend this cottage and hope to be back some day!
Wonderful location - between Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes. Right on water with private beach, swimming deck, dock . Kids all had great time fishing right from dock. Was able to have my morning coffee at kitchen table and watch all the kids having a great time.
Everything was provided , not sure we missed anything while we were there. Excellent vacation
The small village of Lake Ann is halfway between Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes. Leelanau County wineries are just a couple of miles north. Lake Michigan beaches are a 15 minute drive to M-22 and Sleeping Bear Dunes. We love Lake Ann because it is a quick drive east to Traverse City for shopping and restaurants and a quick drive west to the dunes, beaches, trails, and canoeing.
