About Matt Prigge
We are an early 50's couple with 2 college age kids and live and work in the Rochester MN area. I was born in the Rochester area and met Ann while at college. She was raised in the Lakes area of MN near lake Mille Lacs about 30 miles from our cabin.
Matt Prigge purchased this Cabin in 2004
Why Matt Prigge chose Irondale
My wife had been looking for the right place for over a year. - No weeds, no mud, not too many steps to climb up or down when we get old etc. When we drove by my wife recognized it from earlier listings she had seen. It was, for us, the perfect setting and had the potential that we were looking for.
What makes this Cabin unique
One of the few places with split field stone retaining walls and foundations. Also the Boathouse is an added plus since you cannot build them anymore only maintain the ones that already exist. As I have mentioned it is one of the cleanest lakes you will ever experience. No resorts or supper clubs on the lake make it very quiet. Views of the lake are available from 3 of the 5 sleeping rooms.

Wonderful Cabin on the Lake!
The cabin is as described and it was perfect for our 2 families with children age 12-17. We were able to snowshoe on the lake and cross country ski. The cabin is very close to Crosby and a short drive to Nisswa where we spent the day on Saturday. Everyone had plenty of space and the cabin is bright and sunny and clean. The boathouse was perfect. Thank you for an awesome stay-cation to break up the long winter!
Our third stay, we love the location. The house is very functional. Top features include living room, patio, lake house, garage, yard and parking. Owners are available for questions.
We spent 4 plus days at the Prigge cabin and were extremely happy with everything about the cabin and Serpent Lake.
What a beautiful place. The patio and lawn were a great place to sit in the afternoon and evening .
The amenities inside the cabin were first rate. The kitchen was stocked with everything you might need to cook meals . The large table in the dining area doubled as both a place to eat and was a great space to play board games on a rainy Thursday.
The cabin has good A.C and when the temp. dropped into the 50's on Wednesday night and all day Thursday the furnace was a godsend.
Parking is more than ample and the public boat launch was just across the lake; fantastic arrangement.
The town of Crosby is minutes from the cabin; in fact a good brisk walk to get you uptown will take 15 minutes or less , or you could drive it in 3 minutes!
Thanks to the Prigge's for opening their special place to us. Hopefully we can organize a trip North to the cabin again next year. The personal attention by the owners , and their generosity in not a common commodity anymore.
Very nice comfortable and boathouse.
Everything was as we expected.
Beautiful & peaceful! Perfect place for a family vacation!
We had a wonderful 3 days at the cabin and wished we had reserved it for longer! Everything from the view of the lake from inside the cabin, the comfortable king size bed, to the loons, eagles and ducks nearby and use of the pontoon boat and beautiful sunsets, this cabin exceeded our expectations. Owners were wonderful to work with and we hope to return next year!
Beautiful & Relaxing
We stayed at this property and not only was it beautiful and relaxing, but Matt and Ann are very easy to work with. The lake was beautiful and calm, the loons were visiting and relaxing evening walks were ideal. The private setting was nice and the fish were biting! You truly cannot go wrong with this property.
Located in the central lakes area of Minnesota there are many activities to pursue on this lake or within minutes of it. The lake association continues to keep this one of the cleanest lakes in the state. Less congested than the Brainerd Baxter area which is 15 minutes away, the Deerwood-Crosby area is very relaxing and offers some of the best antique shopping, winter or summer trails, fishing in the state. The Mountain Bike trails are some of the best in the country.
