We are an early 50's couple with 2 high school / college age kids and live and work in the Rochester MN area. I was born in the Rochester area and met Ann while at college. She was raised in the Lakes area of MN near lake Mille Lacs about 30 miles from our cabin.
Matt Prigge purchased this cabin in 2004
My wife had been looking for the right place for over a year. - No weeds, no mud, not too many steps to climb up or down when we get old etc. When we drove by my wife recognized it from earlier listings she had seen. It was, for us, the perfect setting and had the potential that we were looking for.
One of the few places with split field stone retaining walls and foundations. Also the Boathouse is an added plus since you cannot build them anymore only maintain the ones that already exist. As I have mentioned it is one of the cleanest lakes you will ever experience. No resorts or supper clubs on the lake make it very quiet. Views of the lake are available from 3 of the 5 sleeping rooms.
Our family was here a few weeks back for some ice fishing and relaxing, and the cabin life was exactly what we were looking for! Nestled right next to the lake my husband and 4yr. old walked right onto the ice for their day of fun and my 2yr. old and I played games and made snow angels! This cabin is nothing shy then beautiful, cozy and clean! Having a full kitchen was awesome and even more a dishwasher! Waking up and having my cup of coffee and just staring out the huge picture window of the lake is nothing less than AWESOME! This place is gorgeous in every way! We had a great time– thank you for opening up your cabin for us to make family memories!
The home was exactly as advertised: picture perfect, beautifully maintained, very comfortable, good beds, plenty of room, well-equipped, quiet, and relaxing. I spoke with the owners, Matt and Ann prior to booking their home. I explained that I was traveling from Newport Beach, California to visit family that lived in the local Deerwood, Crosby area. They were very gracious and accommodating and a wealth of information. As the pictures show, the lake views were gorgeous as is their property. Large mature trees, beautifully landscaped with flowers galore. We enjoyed sitting on the patio in the evenings reminiscing by the fireplace. The only complaint was that we were not able to stay longer. Next time, we will stay for a week! Thank you again. We truly had a wonderful stay.
We had a wonderful time Labor Day weekend! The owners made sure all of our questions were answered and the property was clean, comfortable and suited the needs of our 2 families with young children! There is great yard space to enjoy, play, relax. The dock set up is great for fishing, swimming, etc. We loved the lake! Our ONLY suggestion would be that if you are coming with young kids, sleeping bags would make for less laundry (bedding) on your last day:)
This is not my first time staying here, and I enjoy my stay every time! The location on the lake is wonderful. There are no weeds around the dock, so my kids can jump in and splash away. Having all of the extra accessories (Floating lounge chairs, life jackets, towels, pots/pans and utensils, etc) is so much easier than having to bring them from home. LOVE the two washers and dryers so that I don't have a big pile of laundry to do when I get home from vacation. The house and boat house are beautiful!
This was our second year spending a week at this cabin. We enjoy the house with all the update features! Our grandson enjoys fishing off the dock plus watering Ann's flowers, his "job"! There is plenty of room for our 3 married children and our 2 grandchildren. My wife's dad and stepmother enjoy spending a couple of days with us. Location is easy to get to. We have taken the grand kids to park accosts the lake which is vey nice. We buy most of our groceries at the grocery store in Crosby, great selection at fair prices with very friendly staff. Lot is large enough to play yard games, etc. Appreciate the high speed Internet and cable. If need be Brainerd is close enough for needs that Crosby does not offer. We would recommend this property to our friends and relatives. Great place to relax and get away, many oppotunities to watch and listen to the loons!
Beautiful home, great for large groups or families! We stayed up there because we were in a nearby softball on ice tournament, our team of ten fit perfectly and had an amazing time and to top the weekend off we took 1st!
Located in the central lakes area of Minnesota there are many activities to pursue on this lake or within minutes of it. The lake association continues to keep this one of the cleanest lakes in the state. Less congested than the Brainerd Baxter area which is 15 minutes away, the Deerwood-Crosby area is very relaxing and offers some of the best antique shopping, winter or summer trails, fishing in the state. The Mountain Bike trails are some of the best in the country.
