We greatly enjoyed our stay at Ashton Ridge to celebrate my father in law’s 70th birthday. The house fit 3 couples very comfortably. There were plenty of linens and the kitchen was well stocked (even had trash bags, foil, dishwasher tabs, and soap.) The deck is beautiful and the gas grill was nice to have to bbq dinner after hitting a couple wineries. The only thing that could have been better was the cleanliness, a lot of dead bugs on the floor and shower and bathroom/ kitchen could have been cleaner. We would recommend this house, especially if you are looking for a quiet getaway!
Perfect place to explore So. IL
Nice newer log home on large lot. Loved it. Tim was responsive and entry was super easy. Location provided just the right balance of solitude and convenience. Very minor points - a few missing screens on enclosed porch made for interesting interactions with insect wildlife and make sure to bring your own water if you don’t like well water. I would definitely recommend.
Perfect So IL getaway
Gorgeous views and such a peaceful area. The cabin has everything you need. Clean, comfortable and unique. We would definitely stay again!!!
The cabin is very nice. Location is very remote. Lots of privacy. We had 8 adults staying here and there was plenty of room. I was worried about the futon being comfortable to sleep on. But it was very comfortable. The only reason I gave cleanliness 4 stars was, the soap containers were empty in the bathrooms and there was not any sheets or pillows for the futon. We had payed for 8 adults, so they knew we would be using it. I let the owner know. It may just have been an issue with the people that clean.
Nice secluded property
Nice property with great atmosphere for family interaction. Kitchen was large and bedrooms were comfortable.
We stayed here for a girls wine weekend. It worked really well as far as location and space for us. Kitchen was stocked well enough for what we needed (toaster, pans, utensils, mugs), but not many options. Bathrooms were empty other than toilet paper and towels. I know it’s not a hotel but always hoping for a mini bottle of body wash or shampoo when I forget those things at home. We had some good laughs about how many doors were locked and off limits. The pictures are slightly deceiving showing a walk out basement, but the basement is locked to visitors. Other than that, the views are beautiful from the deck and the house was clean and provided the cabin feel we were looking for. The drive to the house is really pretty too down the long lane with trees and wildlife. Would make for great family pictures.
On the wine trail and one mile to giant city park.
