|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
Newly constructed in 2009, this two story end unit is a perfect staging point for your Costa Rican vacation. 2 bedrooms upstairs including a master suite with a queen size bed and roll out trundle bed beneath, master bathroom and private deck attached. 2nd bedroom has a bunk bed with a double bed on the bottom and a twin on top, also with a separate attached full bathroom. Downstairs includes full kitchen, half bathroom, full size washer/dryer, flat screen TV, and broadband internet with WiFi. There are separate A/C units in each room.
The complex has a 24 hour security guard on site, two pools, and an outdoor eating area. It is right in town, so a short walk to many restaurants, bars, shops, and of course, the beach! Plenty of parking on the street right next to the guard house.
Friendly property management company will arrange will arrange your check-in and assist with transportation if needed. This condo has the most space and best amenities for the price of any in Tamarindo!
We have stayed in Villa Verde II before and love the property. It is close to the beach, but far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the main drag.
This unit was clean, had adequate kitchen utensils and linens.
The master bedroom AC unit gave us some trouble, but I'm sure the owners will have it taken care of as soon as possible (if not already done).
The furniture was comfortable and not worn out.
Communication with the management company was great.
I would highly recommend this particular unit as well as Villa Verde II in general.
Overall the property was quite adequate. We were looking for a cheap clean place to stay and the unit serviced our goals. The only complaint was the lack of central a/c. We were unable to properly regulate the temperature with the individual room units. Mostly was had the rooms freezing cold, which was a great relief from the oppressive heat during the day. During the evening, sleeping was a challenge due to the frigid temps. The simple answer would have been to turn the a/c units up, but when we did that the oppressive heat from outside crept in. Oh well, we slept with additional blankets and stayed for a reasonable rate.
I would have given a better rating. But the 1st 2 days that were there there was no running water on the 2nd floor. On the 3rd day there was no water at all. You know how hot and humid it is in Costa Rica. You get there and you're looking forward to get on the shower, and there's no water. Totally disappointing. We complained to the management Co 2x. And demanded that they move us to another condo with running water but they showed us places that are unacceptable. Then lo and behold there's water on the 4th day until we left. On the day that we checked out. The cleaning people are already cleaning starting at 9am. Isn't check out time is at 1100? Yes it close to the beach around 3 short blocks. We walked a couple of times to the beach and restaurants. Security people are very helpful and the area looks secured. The condo itself is clean and large enough for our group. But to have no running water is totally unacceptable.
This condo was nice and spacious. Everything was good except the 2nd bedroom with bunks had a foul odor like sewage. There was a portable aircondition unit with a garden hose running into the bathroom tub. We couldn't use that room at all. My son just slept on the couch. The air in the master was not working. We called for service and they fixed it only to have it go out again at night. It was very hot sleeping. They came out again and fixed and it went out again. We learned to turn the breaker off, then back on, and that did the trick. The location was a bit further from town than I like. The store is a 7 min walk if you have a good pace. There are 2 tiny pools but one is only half full, so we didn't use that one. Happy to say there were no bugs in the condo. Taxi's are cheap. $2-3 from town back to the condo. The monkey jungle zipline was awesome for $35 per person and they pick you up from the condo.
The place was nice. Comfortable place, fully equipped and nice pool. Not a good think to have the parking space inside but that's secondary. Security staff was really kind.
The service provided by the travel agent in charge was not the best. I think it was because we aren't foreign tourists so maybe they think we don't need to be treated with courtesy (sarcasm).
The whole booking process was easy and pleasant. The apartment was wonderfully suited for what we intended. It was clean and furnished adequately with a kitchen fully equipped to prepare a whole range of meals. It had a swimming pool on the premises which were very well kept. 24 Hour security with wonderful helpful people. The beach is 5 minute walking distance. Tamarindo is still "raw" enough for a hint of adventure and can be quite laidback for regular comfort vacationing. Supermarket is close by on the way to the center of town. We had an awesome time and can't wait to go back.
Staying in the town of Tamarindo is the perfect way to enjoy Costa Rica. Playa Tamarindo offers excellent surfing, particularly for beginning surfers, and is also close to more challenging conditions for higher skill levels. There are scuba excursions, deep sea fishing, wildlife watching, zip line canopy tours, day trip volcano tours, horseback riding on the beach, and plenty of nightlife spots in town as well.
