Welcome to our corner of the Smoky Mountains at Beary Patch Hill! Our 1 BR 2 Bathroom Cabin is located in Sevierville, TN just minutes from Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. In addition to the king size bed in the bed room there are two additional sleeper sofas to sleep a maximum of a family of 4 to 6. The bedroom also includes a relaxing jetted jacuzzi tub. There is also a pack n play for the little ones.
For your entertainment there are board games, horseshoe pits, and a flat screen TV with Direct TV dish service and a variety of DVDs.
Relax outside on the covered porch in the hot tub. The children will enjoy the spacious yard with over an acre to roam around on the paths between the wild blackberry patches. There is also a slide and swings for the kids.
We are also just minutes from Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg the gateway to the Smoky Mountain National Park. Enjoy plenty of outdoor activities including hiking, fishing, skiing, sight seeing, shopping at the Tanger Outlets, restaurants, and plenty of local events. Dollywood is also just minutes away.
Mike & Amy and their 3 children love the outdoors and take every opportunity to get out and about in the Smokys.
Mike McClead purchased this cabin in 2012
There is plenty of space to relax on the 2.5 acre lot with the fire ring patio, hot tub, swing set, and horse shoe pits.
We had a wonderful time at the cabin, it was beautiful and extremely peaceful. The kids enjoyed all the bunnies and two baby deer out the window every morning. Also picking and eating their own black berries daily!
My son and I enjoyed this cabin in our getaway to Pigeon Forge. I'd like to begin this review saying that Mike was extremely responsive in answering any calls and questions from me. (One was even at almost 11pm one night). That was very much appreciated!
The cabin was exactly as stated, and was quiet and cozy for the days we wanted to be lazy, and was a welcome retreat to coming home from a day of sightseeing.
My son's review of the downstairs futon was "I want to take this home it's so comfy!"
Note that the upstairs bedroom is more like a loft. It's open to downstairs above the stairs, so sometimes it could be the battle of the TV's, and conversations can be heard by others.
I noticed one review said there was no dresser, but there is a dresser in the bedroom now. I was thinking this was still true, so I carried a lot of hang up clothes. However, there is no usable closet space. There is only one closet upstairs, and it's used as storage for the baby equipment, so having a rolling hanging rack in the upstairs bedroom would be very nice-and the bedroom is very large, so it would accommodate that easily.
A full length mirror upstairs would also be very helpful, as the only mirrors are the ones in the bathrooms.
A small dish rack for folks like us who didn't cook, would be great! We only ate cereal and snacks, and coffee in the morning, so we didn't want to use the dishwasher for that each morning, and had to dry the dishes we washed by hand on the only kitchen towel.
The only thing that really bothered me was having no curtains in the bathroom. Even though there was no houses that could see in (that I could tell), it was just a little unnerving getting out of the shower with window chest level. Even a lace curtain hanging would have been helpful.
As a housekeeping contractor, I am familiar with dealing with vacation guest and the processes of such. So, my expectations are high as far as housekeeping is concerned. After addressing an issue with linens with Mike, he assured me that he'll address them with his cleaner, and helped remedy the situation immediately. However, be aware there is a "muck" bucket under the kitchen sink that's gross, and your view out the upstairs bathroom window is obstructed by spider webs and dead insects.
I would return to this cabin again.
My family enjoyed our stay here. Central location, everything in a 5-10 mile radius. Kids loved playing on the trails cut through the bushes and trees. We never found any board games but they enjoyed the wii and movie selections in our down time. Kitchen well stocked with what you need to cook if you dont want to eat out all the time. Hot tub was nice. If you want a fire bring firewood, there was plenty of twigs and small branches for kindling. The driveway was hard to find when we arrived, number on mailbox not address for cabin. The trees and bushes made this cabin private from the ones by the road so that was nice. I would recommend this cabin to small families like mine.
We had a great stay at this property. It is as-pictured and well-maintained. We had a fire in the fire-pit, kids played on the playground equipment and we wondered through the blackberry bushes (unfortunately just after their season ended, but still pretty). The space is really comfortable and it is out in the country, so it's a short drive to grocery and restaurants, etc. But we were happy to be out of the way a little and chose that on purpose. We used both the upstairs bed and the pull-out in the living room. Both were adequately comfortable. The kitchen is moderately stocked, so you might ask in advance for a list of what's available if you plan to do a lot of cooking. But if you're doing basic stove-top or microwaving, you'll be just fine. The water pressure was good and the AC worked well (we visited in August). The layout is really nice, if you're happy to be all together. To be clear, the upstairs does feel like a full separate bedroom - however, there isn't a door to the bedroom. But, it is not open (like a loft) to the downstairs. The stairs are walled in and there is a landing with an opening to the room. So, it feels mostly private. We had our two kids stay up there and we had no trouble with noise or them staying in the bedroom/upstairs. Check-in and check-out was very easy and instructions were all made clear. We enjoyed our stay here!
This was my first experience renting a cabin, visiting the Smokies/Gatlinburg and using this site. I had no idea how it worked or what to expected. I was pleasantly surprised! When you first turn into the driveway there are two cabins rather close together and I didn't see another one but we kept driving and just beyond some trees is the Beary Patch Hill cabin. Very nice outside area for children to play. The cabin was exceptionally clean, nicely decorated and stocked. Loved having the half bath downstairs! Everything seemed to be clean & in working order including the hot tub. Very quiet & peaceful get away. I hope to return and possibly bring my grandchildren soon!
property was very nice. grass had been freshly mowed, house was spotless, and we had everything we needed for a nice relaxing weekend.
Very decent cabin for my family of 4. Only downside is the hot water didn't stay hot enough to take a shower, and couldn't fill the bathtub up enough with hot water to use the jets. And the hot tub has sand in the bottom. Other than that it's a decent cabin.
