This studio is centrally located to major attractions in San Diego. Closeness of Convention Center, downtown, Gaslamp, and Balboa Park & Zoo is a major draw for tourists. We live close by to this property so we know first hand how convenient it is.
The closeness to the airport makes it easy for travel days. The bus line on the corner insures easy access to great restaurants in the Gaslamp. Taxi fares are not expensive if you don't have a car. Uber is there and costs about $7 to downtown. Closeness to freeways insures quick access to beaches, whether it be Mission, La Jolla or Del Mar or across the bay to Coronado.
This place is very centrally located and has several places within walking distance to pick up groceries or eat. Which I recommend walking or Ubering as much as possible since finding a parking space in the evenings can be a challenge. Very cute property for a couple to stay for a short visit.
We enjoyed our stay very much! Condo was exactly what I expected. It had everything we needed. Bed was very comfortable. Neighborhood was quiet at night and very centrally located. No complaints and would highly recommend this place for a couple. Place is small as indicated but very comfy
The property was very clean and well equipped with everything that you need for your stay. It is very close to downtown (10 min by car, 30 min walk) and we found nice restaurants/cafes near the property (Luigi Pizzeria, Influx Cafe, etc.). The owners responded to my questions very fast. Thank you Susan & Ron!! The only recommendation is that it might be time to change the wood floor, which it has the typical old wood smell that might bother some renters. I would go all tiles and you don't have to worry anymore in the future. In summary, it was a great stay and I'll be happy to use this property again.
We stayed three nights in this little space, and it was perfect if you plan on being out and about, which we were. It was neat and extremely clean, with anything we could have needed. It is only a five minute drive to Gaslamp district, with neat shops and restaurants bars and pubs. It also has a handful of great little restaurants just a five minute walk away - we enjoyed some great Mexican one evening and a hearty and cheap breakfast at a little diner another day. It is just two blocks off the entrance to I5, so getting around is very easy if you are travelling by car. We were surprised at how close we were to things. The only drawback if it concerns you is that parking can be tight; one evening we ended up parking a street over. This didn't concern us with an empty rental car, but it's worth noting. The walls are thin to the adjacent rental space, but we didn't have any problem with the other guests during our stay, though quiet neighbours can't always be guaranteed.
We enjoyed this VRBO studio because of its excellent location to Balboa Park and other downtown San Diego sites. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare light meals. The bed and linens were very comfortable. We also enjoyed the large gas grill that is available in the back of the property. The apartment is small and a bit cramped. I would not recommend more than 2 people staying here. What we really didn't like was the strange "smell" that permeated the unit. It was especially noticeable upon first entering...almost like a stuffy closet or sewer smell. After we ran the air conditioner the smell was less noticeable. This drawback was not enough to make us contact the owner as we were not inside the apartment much during our stay. However, it was something we noticed every time we returned back to the apartment at the end of the day. A slight inconvenience. The price for this unit along with its location makes it a good value.
San Diego Zoo is world famous & just 4 minutes away by car as is Balboa Park, and Balboa Park Golf Course. Closeness to freeways allows easy access to multiple beaches in area such as Mission, La Jolla, and Del Mar. Closeness to waterfront allows sightseeing of historical Midway aircraft carrier, & Sea of India, oldest & still operating merchant sailing ship. Also ferry to Coronado with historical Hotel Del Coronado & great beach.
