Joe & Mimi
We are Joe & Mimi, the owners who live in the main house upstairs in this beautiful Victorian. We purchased this house in 2012, did some major renovation and decided to rent out the units below as vacation rentals. We would love to share our home with you and even give you some insights as to what to do, where to go and be of help if you are unsure of how to get around in the Bay Area, during your stay with us.
Joe Pappaly / Mimi purchased this apartment in 2012
We bought this property because we always wanted to live in a victorian and we simply love Alameda. The people, the weather, the proximity to everything and most of all the tranquility of this island.
We chose this particular property because of its unique Victorian look & feel of it. This home was built in 1891 by Peter Christiansen who was a very well known builder during his time. History books claim that he had built several Victorian homes in Alameda. This particular home that he had built was for himself. Historians claim that because of that, he used the best types of wood and construction materials available during his era to build this home. It sure seemed like that during our major remodel.
I was very pleased with our week here. The property had everything we needed. It was a great location, close to shops resturants and even a very cute movie theatre that we enjoyed since it rained really bad one day. It was also a good location for driving into san francisco for site seeing. I would say it has a small town feel with city convenience. I would defenently stay here again and hope I get to.
We were surprised by a bottle of wine and chocolates! The apartment was very clean and perfect for the two of us. The entrance is on the side of the house and we were able to park right there. I agree the linens and bed were comfy. Joe and Mimi were great hosts. We highly recommend staying here.
The property is as described, clean and welcoming, nice bedding and towels. This is a much better value than local hotels! The neighborhood is a wonderful, peaceful oasis. The surrounding parks are great. We loved walking to Cafe au Lait for morning coffee and we got killer bread at the Feel Good Bakery! Highly recommended!
Great place to stay, central to the east bay, alameda is a great little town and this apartments emulates that feel, small quaint and with everything you need.
What a great place and such nice people! The little apartment was perfect with our toddler, he also enjoyed the garden. We had everything we needed. We would definitely go back if we visit SF again.
Great location, cozy as could be, everything we needed, and the neighborhood made us want to move to Alameda. Thank you for the perfect spot.
