About Joe Pappaly / Mimi
We are Joe & Mimi, the owners who live in the main house upstairs in this beautiful Victorian. We purchased this house in 2012, did some major renovation and decided to rent out the units below as vacation rentals. We would love to share our home with you and even give you some insights as to what to do, where to go and be of help if you are unsure of how to get around in the Bay Area, during your stay with us.
Joe Pappaly / Mimi purchased this Apartment in 2012
Why Joe Pappaly / Mimi chose Alameda
We bought this property because we always wanted to live in a victorian and we simply love Alameda. The people, the weather, the proximity to everything and most of all the tranquility of this island.
What makes this Apartment unique
We chose this particular property because of its unique Victorian look & feel of it. This home was built in 1891 by Peter Christiansen who was a very well known builder during his time. History books claim that he had built several Victorian homes in Alameda. This particular home that he had built was for himself. Historians claim that because of that, he used the best types of wood and construction materials available during his era to build this home. It sure seemed like that during our major remodel.

It was great - thanks!
The owner was amiable to us checking in before the allotted time which we really appreciated
Thanks for choosing to stay with us. Much appreciated.
Nice place for two guests.
It was a nice one bedroom with a short walk to amenities of Park St. Easy access.
Thanks Bill. Much appreciated
Very clean property with a beautiful backyard and nice scenery.
The rental was not its own property like it was listed, more of a mother in law style home on the bottom of the main house. A little disppointed that this wasn't made aparent in more retail beforehand because it was as private and we could hear the owners above walking around and talking on the phone. The bathroom toilette did not work well at all and it wasn't until the last day that we could figure out how to get it to flash fully. The bed was very comfortable and the space was adequent for what we needed but the anemities were a bit disappointing. No bluetooth music was working that conected with the TV however joey and mimi brought us an alternate speaker. Overall it was a nice, clean property if privacy isn't what you are looking for. Felt a little uncomfortable that the owners entrance was right next to ours as well and our guests didn't feel like they were welcome to be at our place. This is perfect for someone traveling by themselves and doesn't plan on catering to anyone while being in the area but I wouldn't recomend staying with more than one person because the space is small and you never know if the toilet is going to work.
We had a great stay in Alameda. Very nice little place, and was perfect for what we needed. Thank you very much!!
Thanks Tim. Hope to see you guys again.
Ideal location for visiting my daughter, exceptionally clean, nicely decorated,
very comfortable, priced right, and close enough to walk to Park Street for
restaurants, shopping, etc. And very convenient for going to the Alameda
Point flea market!!! Have stayed many times and will definitely be staying
Great little place
I have stayed here many times before and will continue as long as possible. The Pappaly's are exceptional hosts and if you have any problems they are there for you. Although the unit is small it has everything I need: full kitchen, microwave, etc. The bath has a walk-in shower, no tub. The bed is very comfortable and there is a huge flat screen tv with cable.
