I, Alberto, was born in Milano, Diana was born in Napoli, a good blend of italian flavours, North and South together. The both of us were Managers in Multinational Companies in Operations and Purchasing myself , and Commercial and Marketing Diana, before starting this new life in hospitality. I love to talk about economics and I am passionate of Sudoku. I am the gardener and the House 'factotum'.
Diana who is graduate in Italian Letterature, is a fantastic chef and an heavy reader. Our Houses are full of book in italian, english and different languages.
We love people and good companies, we love good food and good wine. Both of us are Sommelier.
We live in the Property and are glad to welcome Guest and help them in touring the region
We also have an Apartment for rent in Roma that is our winter nest too
Le Logge di Silvignano Historic House is a unique property to enjoi the medieval flavour of Umbria with comfort.
You are on the hills at only few Kms fromall the most interesting medieval town of Umbria. Overlooking the valley and countless olive trees covering the hills. From the Pool you enjoi the view and the breeze.
We stayed four nights in the Ulysses House with another couple - this was our first vacation in Italy and first time in Umbria. Alberto and Diana were warm, gracious hosts that take a genuine interest in their guests. They gave recommendations on restaurants in the area, which towns to visit, and even provided a welcome basket and a refrigerator stocked with essentials for the morning. They could not have done anything else to make us feel more welcome - even asked to let them know when we were leaving so they could say good-bye.
The Ulysses House is an exceptional three level villa which appears to be partially built into the side of a hill with a kitchen, comfortable sitting room and eating area on the second floor, clean and spacious bedrooms/bathrooms on the first and lower levels. The terrace has an absolutely stunning view overlooking the valley and surrounding hills - a postcard picture for sure. We took pictures of the sun setting over the hills. Wi-fy is available outside their office on the patio - including under their fig tree.
One note - Silvignano is very small. When you arrive in town you are actually there at Le Logge. We called them when we arrived near the bus stop not knowing where they were located and they walked down to greet us at our car. What wonderful hosts! Would return in a heartbeat.

I'm not sure why there hasn't been a current review of this property but since there hasn't I feel compelled to do so. We stayed in the Ulysses unit with another couple for a week in Sept. '14. The unit was awesome! This 800+ year old property has been impeccably restored right down to the high end multi feature windows. The view of the pool and hillside from our room was amazing!! Diana and Alberto are wonderful hosts, offering a host of recommendations for places to visit and eat (even assisting with reservations), not to mention the fact that they had supplies in the kitchen and a home baked pastry for us upon arrival. After a few days in Rome, this quaint countryside was a wonderful contrast. There are many places to visit within a quick drive, including Assisi. It was so fun to grab some local food to cook in the villa and enjoy on the extensive patio overlooking the valley. Wine and cheese by the pool at sunset was a wonderful way to end the day. We still can't believe we were able to spend a week at such an unbelievable place!! I would stay here again and again!! Thank you Diana and Alberto.
We visited the Umbria area in May for three weeks and made The House of Ulysses our home base. The accommodation is first class. It is located at the top of a hill in a small village with the most amazing views. It has a very good working kitchen and the bedrooms are quite spacious and comfortable. There is a good dining area, sitting area and the terrace overlooks beautifully kept gardens, spectacular sunsets and olive groves. Our hosts, Diana and Alberto, were the most gracious, friendly and accommodating hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They were very knowledgeable about every part of Italy, history, dining, where to shop, and recommended day trips for us that we would never have found in a guide book. We felt at the end of our trip that they were not only our hosts but our friends. If you want to explore Umbria, and I highly recommend that area if you want a less commercial and more authentic Italian experience, then I would suggest that you stay here. You won't be disappointed!! You will need a car but that is the best way to see the area.
My husband and I and our friends shared this apartment in the converted 16th century stone house for one week. The accomodations are easy to live in, the property is large and the swimming pool is in a lovely location. The tiny town of Silvignano is near Spoleto, Assisi and Perugia, many quintensential small Italian restaurants in the small town below. Our hosts, Diana and Alberto, are suberb, welcoming, encompassing, highly knowledgeable about the area, the possible little known areas to visit, where to shop, etc. I highly recommend this experience to anyone who loves Italy, and who would love to be in a incredibly beautiful, well located and friendly environment. This was a wonderful last week of a 3 month trip to Europe!
Dear Diana and Alberto we want to thank you for the memorable 7 days that we spent in the Ulysses House, we were able to appreciate the natural beauty, spirituality, art, cuisine and hospitality of Umbria thanks to your excellent suggestions and impecable accommodations.
Dear Diana and Alberto we would like to thank you once again for your warm hospitality during our stay in your Logge. Our Villa was more than we expected. We never forget the sunset from the terrace.
We also wanto tank you for the hints about secret places and restaurants. We went to La Trattoria and can really recommend it to other guests. We prefer it above all the others. We regret that we not went earlier to that restaurant.
We ordered Stinco and it was really delicious also the tiramisu was excellent.
Please continue to suggest this plae to your future guests.
All the best and hope to see you once again !

My family stayed for a week in the House of Ulysses. The house was great and as advertised. The house was in great condition, the kitchen had everything that you would need, and the rooms were very comfortable. The view from the house was beautiful. Furthermore, the house was very well-located, making day trips easy to do.
Finally, we greatly appreciated all of the help and hospitality provided by the hosts (Diana and Alberto). They made it a truly special stay.
We highly recommend this place.
