We are a retired couple who grew up in New Mexico. We love the mountains and the river. We hope you enjoy this cabin as much as we do!
David and Barbara Benedict purchased this cabin in 2012
This has been described by many as having the best view on the river. We agree!
Ruidoso Downs horse racetrack. All American Futurity (Worlds Richest Horserace) - Labor Day. Cabin is close to town, shopping, restaurants, fishing, hiking, gambling, and other activities.
My friend and I were celebrating our back to back birthdays in Ruidoso. The pictures of the river from the back deck was the reason I rented this home. The house was cozy and clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We sat on the deck drinking coffee and listening to the peaceful sounds of the river. By the second morning the deer started coming into the yards. We quickly cut an apple and were able to feed them by hand. The does and fawns were very gentle and we knew to be careful and watchful. Our stay was pleasant and relaxing.
This home is perfect for our family and we will rent again next year!
This winter family vacation was perfect. We had a great time at the house and it fit our needs perfectly. The location of the home is wonderful. The house is very close to the shops and also close to the many restaurants in the area. While at the house, we had a great view of the river and during the evening hours we enjoyed the many holiday lights along Main Road. We especially enjoyed the quietness of the area and loved that the deer were only a few feet from us. My grandson loved it. We enjoyed our stay and wished we could have extended our vacation longer. Would definitely recommend the house to anyone who visits Ruidoso. Thank you again Mr. and Mrs. Benedict for having us stay at your beautiful home.
I saw a mouse in the kitchen. Called the person responsible. She said she didn't know what to tell me. Later that night, the carbon monoxide alarm went off. That was scary. Had to sleep with the windows open and it was freezing.
Views are beautiful though.
The house was cozy-close to many things. But in a quiet neighborhood. It was fun exploring the river and feeding the numerous deer in the yard!
My husband & I & our 9 year old Akita just spent almost 2 months at this property when my husband was sent from Albuquerque to help out at the Ruidoso hospital. We had stayed at various other Vrbo rentals in Ruidoso & were happy with them, but after staying at this home on the river, all other rentals paled in comparison. The owners were so nice & accomodating & the house was homey, clean & comfortable with everything needed to make it feel like home. The location was amazing. Private, back off the road in the woods, but close to downtown, and the decks overlooking the Ruidoso River were stunning & so peaceful & tranquil! We had wonderful daily walks along the river with our dog & quite certain it's his favorite place as well.😁And almost daily, we had 5 to 7 deer strolling through the yard, many eating right out of my hand! Would highly recommend this home to anyone wanting a fabulous weekend or extended stay in Ruidoso. We will definately stay here next time we come to Ruidoso!
