M22 Just Voted America's Best Autumn Drive

**Our rates are based on 10 guests. But we can accommodate as many as 13 (rate will vary based on number of guests over 10)**

Our Lake Michigan home has only a few steps to the beach and a viewing deck with stairs to the beach (Top 10 Beach Towns in America AOL Travel News). Our residence is about 1/2 mile off of M22 in a very private area without any public access. The home offers 3 bedrooms with each having a private bathroom and shower. The master bedroom also has a side room (formerly an artist studio) to accommodate any additional guests. The side room does have a separate entrance with access to the back patio deck.

Watch the kids from the deck and enjoy your vacation. Just a short drive to Leland and North-port, as well many of the local vineyards (Top 10 Places to enjoy Local Wines USA Today).

Restaurants and other local flavors all within reach (Top 5 Foodie Towns in America Bonn Appetite).

Enjoy swimming in Lake Michigan as well as the many activities that the lake has to offer. Paddle boarding, Kayaking, canoeing, sailing.

Enjoy the privacy that the beach has to offer, and for those wanting to walk into Leland for some shopping or an ice cream treat or bicycling (6 Best Cities for a Bike Vacation).

Leland has a great deal to offer those who just want to stay close. The ferry in Leland can take those wanting to explore the Manitou Islands for day long hiking trips or over night camping stays.

The home is also close to a great deal of Michigan's natural treasures. Just to mention a few are Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lake-shore that rises almost 500 feet from the lake. The lake-shore park also has many hiking trails for those wanting a bit more excitement. Traverse City is also home to the Cherry Festival each year and the Traverse City Movie Festival. Recently Traverse City was named 'Best Summer Trips 2012' by National Geographic.

Rates based on up to 10 guests, more guests will be considered, but at a higher rate.

About A. Camill

From the southern part of Michigan and grew up going up north in the summers and falling in love with the Leland Peninsula.

A. Camill purchased this house in 2012

Why A. Camill chose Leland

The location is perfect, and the beach will take your breathe away. Our home and beach is in a very private location. There is no public access for miles. The house sits just slightly on a bluff with two separate accesses to the beach. One a few steps to the sand and the other atop a viewing deck with stairs going to the beach and fire pit.

What makes this house unique

It is all about the kids and the memories they will have for the years to come. The beach is clean and very sandy. Our home sits on a very low bluff, which allows those who may not be able to tackle the stairs the ability to enjoy the beach as well. We recently completely renovated our home to make your stay even more enjoyable. A lot of attention was put into our kitchen for everyone to enjoy.

Our home is about a half mile off of M22, and quite enough that you do not hear any noise from the main road.

A True Escape...

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had the pleasure of enjoying our 5th year staying in this beautiful home with the most stunning views of Lake MI, private white sandy beaches, and spectacular sunsets.. However this year surpassed them all as the owner recently completed a home remodel / expansion that left us speechless upon entering. The open floor concept (with floor to ceiling windows facing the water) between the chef's kitchen (huge island seats 7+) and living room creates a feeling of being right on the water even when inside and provides plenty of space for everyone to relax, find a quiet seat or gather around the kitchen for mealtime fun. Brand new flooring, walls, ceilings, multiple high end bathrooms, bedrooms, 2nd floor TV / lounge area which was perfect for the kids, is all beautifully done. This home is impeccably clean, organized and stocked with fresh towels / linens. The owner is always quick to respond to questions and eager to make sure his visitors are enjoying themselves. We have fallen in love with this home, the gorgeous beach, private view of lake MI and have created memories with our 3 kids and parents that will last a lifetime. This is a true escape to an UpNorth paradise that we look forward to visiting again next summer. Thank you!

Pure Michigan Beach Home

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our fifth summer vacation at this truly special Lake Michigan beach home. This year the owners had completed a remodel and expansion that is spectacular. Walking in the door you face a wall of windows framing that gorgeous Lake Michigan view. The entire living area has the feeling of bringing the outside in. The new shiplap walls, planked flooring, and comfortable high end finishes and furnishings are tastefully done and so welcoming. The newly added second story with its loft tv area and three bedrooms was perfect for our grandkids . They especially liked the novelty of bunk beds. We had the spacious master suite with a cozy king bed and white down comforter and ensuite that was perfect. My daughter and I love to cook and this newly remodeled kitchen with an island that never ends was a dream to work in. Everything you might need , including spices was there. The huge new subzero fridge and professional range are great but there is also a large Weber grill on the deck , where we watched the glorious sunsets every evening.

The beach was much larger this year( subject to lake levels) and there was a lot of sand castle building , rock hunting and boogie board surfing happening. Evenings around the fire pit making s'mores was a must.

Leelanua and the town of Leland are charming. There is much to see and do but we find it difficult to tear ourselves away from the the fun and peacefulness at this very special home in what we call Paradise.

Another great week at the lake

  • 5 of 5

This is the third year we have stayed with our family at the Camill's house, a week we look forward to all year! The new renovations have made an already charming home even more amazing. The kitchen and additional rooms and bathrooms are incredible and really make this a first rate vacation rental. Our children loved the new bunk room. The grandparents appreciated the comfortable beds and clean bathrooms. The view of the lake is breathtaking. We made many wonderful dinners, listened to music on the Sonos system and enjoyed beautiful sunsets every night. In addition it is easy to sit outside, play in the front yard and swim in the lake. The place is truly magical. When we could tear ourselves away we enjoyed kayaking on the Platte River, visiting several sites in Sleeping Bear dunes, biking the heritage trail and exploring the beaches at Empire. On the one night we didn't cook we enjoyed dinner at Martha's in Sutton's bay. The owner is easily reachable and very acommodating to answer questions. The house is clean comfortable and you really couldn't ask for anything more! Can't wait to come back, hopefully for many more years.

Lake Michigan Magic

  • 5 of 5

We are winding up a magical week at this comfortably furnished, impeccably clean beach house on Lake Michigan. This is the third summer our three generations have made memories and reconnected at this lovely home. The alfresco dinners at the new table on the deck, the campfires roasting marshmallows at the new fire pit and rock hunting on the beach kept us busy. It was difficult tot ear ourselves away from the sunsets and the comforts here. Thank you for allowing us this fabulous opportunity again. We plan to return next year.

A truly magical place

  • 5 of 5

I live in the Midwest, but originally I grew up in a sweet little town in a beach house on the shore of the Long Island Sound in Connecticut. I've always had a thing for the quaint sea towns of New England and thought nothing could fulfill my desire to get back there, until I found this home. From the minute you drive down the quiet, private road to the house you just know you're in for something very special. Once inside the lovely, comfortable house, everyone's first reaction is to take a deep breath and take in the absolutely stunning view of the Great Lake Michigan. Several members of my family drove out from Connecticut and Vermont to join my husband, son and I that first summer in 2013. This location was so perfect for each of us to find our own adventure, swim, walk the beach, or relax, but it was clear when we were departing that we had much more left to discover on the Leelanau Peninsula. We've come back twice since that first magical summer. We came back again this past summer with more family members, and again in September, for a quiet, romantic, peaceful week with my husband. Read all the reviews because they perfectly describe what you can do and see at this beach house. I'm not sure anyone can adequately convey how this wonderful place makes you feel. My family and I are already dreaming about and planning for when we go back next summer. Our heartfelt thanks to the owners, who treat you like family. Absolutely, I'd recommend without question.

The pictures don't do the property justice

  • 5 of 5

Perfect location. Perfect house. We were only four, but the house could comfortably sleep ten. Expansive views of the lake from the living room and porch. Easy access to a narrow but nice beach. High-end kitchen and t.v. The owner, Anthony answered all our questions in a timely fashion, and gave us great recommendations. I would highly recommend.
