Remodel completed late fall 2012. NOW WITH PRIVATE TWO-PERSON OUTDOOR SPA!

Five BR, 3BA, FR, Great Room (combination living room/dining room), and eat-in-kitchen. Equally comfortable for two, four, six, or up to twelve occupants. ONE DOES NOT WALK BY ANY OTHER BEDROOM TO ACCESS ANY BEDROOM. Sleeps up to 12. Great for multi-generation gatherings. And three bedrooms have direct access to private patio. All with vistas, two of them with ocean views.

Roche Bobois, Ligne Roset, Baughman, BDI & other top of the line furniture. 2013 65' top rated Panasonic plasma TV. Tempurpedic mattresses (two Cal-King - one of which can be split into two single XL, two queens, one bunk bed and one double) on six of the eight beds, the other two featuring top of the line pillow top mattresses. Feather pillows. New hardwood floors, hardware, lighting (and controls) and granite throughout (counters, bath, fireplace & thresholds). Home enjoys ocean views and enjoys elbow room of 26,000 sf of land which includes adjoining lot owned by same owner. Huge patios including one with sweeping ocean, cove, and North Shore views. Big circular driveway. Parking for 8-10 cars in huge motor court.

SUPERB LOCATION. In the heart of La Jolla, the home is only 0.29 miles from the beaches of La Jolla Shores, a huge crescent-shaped children-friendly beach. It is less than 0.5 miles to Prospect Street and restaurant row and 0.68 miles to the ultra-scenic and world famous La Jolla Cove, a small intimate sheltered beach and 'San Diego's most desirable spot for swimming, snorkeling and diving.' For computer use, six foot glass topped 'desk' in FR with two Knoll office chairs. For dining, tables and chairs for ten (twelve when using the office chairs).

What makes this house unique

Enjoy being indoors with the feeling of being one with nature. Glass just disappears into the ceilings and many of the walls. YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE OUTDOORS WHILE INSIDE THE HOME. Eight huge skylights bath the home with light while the cedar roof overhang providing natural sun control. Two of the skylights in the bathroom area are ventilating.

And speaking of ventilation, with operative sliding glass windows next to the ceiling in all rooms, catch the ocean breezes and enjoy SUPER cross ventilation. That ventilation eliminates all the hot air that typically rises to the ceiling and creates higher interior than exterior temperatures. No need for mechanical airconditioning nor is any featured. ENJOY LA JOLLA'S FANTASTIC WEATHER WHILE INSIDE YOUR HOME!

Although there is little need for it, enjoy radiant hot water heat in the floors on those cooler winter nights.

Wonderful huge patios and much lush vegetation. Extreme privacy.

Unique and Lovely Home

We had the pleasure of spending a 4 day weekend in this lovely La Jolla home. We flew to the San Diego area to celebrate our grandson's third birthday with his parents and uncle, while my son studied for final exams and my husband studied for a medical board. The rest of us enjoyed the La Jolla coast attractions, including La Jolla Shores Beach and the sea lions and seals at La Jolla Cove. The home is conveniently in the middle.

This house is warm in its wooden surfaces, and light in its many windows and skylights. It has a string of 4 bedrooms on one end and a fifth one off a short hall from the kitchen. Each room is private and has easy access to an updated full bathroom, with fantastic showers (or shower over tub). All bedrooms have their own access to the outdoors.

We did not get to enjoy the outdoor spaces of this house, because the weather was rather cool, and we were away for most of the daytime hours. There is a huge, lovely back patio, with dining, heaters and a large television. There are also stairs to an upper deck with a wonderful sunset view. There is plenty of parking.

We did enjoy the wonderful kitchen and easy clean surfaces. The kitchen is generously supplied for cooking and dining. We cooked and baked, and found everything we needed. There is a spacious living area with great comfortable leather chairs and sofa, and huge flat screen tv. There is also a nice separate office area, which my son was happy to use. We also took advantage of the washer and dryer, and a roll away bed.

The house is perfect and a fun place to stay. David, the owner, is very nice and attentive and very easy to rent from. The location is very good. You will want to know that Torrey Pines, the front street, is very busy at various times, and has street traffic noises. The two bedrooms facing the street have white noise machines, which my son used and had no problems. The noise is not noticeable from the back facing rooms. There is a large gravel front court and bushes separating the house from the street, and a bicycle lane. You will need to enter and exit with care, and it may take a little patience to cross the street on foot. Other reviewers also mention this, and it's good to know going in, but it did not negatively impact our stay.

A very unique and inviting home; full of amenities,; good value; and overseen by a gracious host.

The home was very much as described in the online site. Pretty much "as-advertised"! The one feature of the listing that was not included was its most important asset: namely, David the host! He was available and responsive to all of our needs, and his sincerity and warmth was clear: David wanted us to experience La Jolla living as 'residents' rather than 'tourists.' Customer friendly: I was very impressed that he was not only available to greet us, but to spend time orienting us toward the house and the immediate neighborhood.

David was also available by phone and email before the actual house stay, which was comforting.

We found the entire house clean and in order, and the description of distances to sites in the immediate community very accurate. The locale was perfect if you enjoy walking short distances the town. Proximity to the airport was a very, very big plus.

The home met the needs of our group: 6 adults and one baby in residence; and, ultimately, eight adults fitting around the outdoor and indoor tables in comfort. Ours was a family reunion, and it fulfilled the role of everyone able to enjoy 'hang-out time" together as well as the potential for individual privacy.

This was way, way better than staying in an area hotel. So I would book it again, and recommend it to family and friends!!!

The Nines

Our group spent 5 days and enjoyed the spacious living quarters, the separate bedrooms and the well-stocked amenities closet. The big screen TV with movies channel availability was great as the weather was cooler than was comfortable to being outdoors on the patio, which also has a big screen TV. All in all, a great destination.

Great place for a guys weekend.

We had a guys get away weekend, and this house was perfect. It was set up perfect for us to watch lots of football. The house is well set up with everything you need. The house was very clean and looked great. I'd definitely use it again.

My only complaint is that it is located next to a very busy street. Getting to the beach takes a little work, and it may not be ideal for someone with small children.

Perfect for our family

We stayed in the house recently with our children and grandchildren. There was ample room for everyone to spread out and the home was perfectly prepared! The outdoor spaces were taken advantage of by all, especially the upper deck that had a view of the ocean. David was easy to talk to and made sure we had everything available to make it like staying at home. Was very easy to get around and all the conveniences you can think of are close by. Would definitely stay again, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit!
