I moved here in 1984 with my husband. We live in the stone farmhouse on the property. We decided to convert the large dairy barn into a Bed & Breakfast, which I have run for 13 + years. I am now retired and am renting wonderful spaces for families and couples to enjoy for a vacation or get together.
sa purchased this barn in 1984
We decided to buy this property because of the historical significance and the fact that it is such a beautiful setting. It is located in the heart of Bucks County and we could enjoy a country life and still be close to major attractions and cultural events.
The farmhouse is a stone house with deep windows sills and is early 1800. The original part of the barn(1818) is also stone and is a magnificant structure. The property has a beautiful setting and nice views of the pastures and woods. A beautiful place to live and stay!
My wife and I enjoyed the suite unit and the additional bedroom unit at this property which is located in a beautiful country setting. The manager for this property was very accomodating and provided any information about the surrounding area. We enjoyed the local town of Dublin, and also the nearby town of Doylestown. The weather was close to perfect and the surrounding area was ideal. I hope to return again some time in the future.
My daughter and I stayed here in the studio suite and adjoining queen room/bath for Thanksgiving and Christmas 2015. We found it to be a great location, beautifully and comfortably furnished in a quiet out of the way spot yet very close to shopping and restaurants. Besides relaxing at our "home", we toured local sites such as Pearl Bucks home (right down the road), the James Michener Art Museum and the Mercer Museum in Doylestown, and the Byers Choice Caroler factory and Christmas museum in Chalfont. We greatly enjoyed our visit. Jackie and Jackie (the owner and her assistant) were great to work with and answered all of our questions quickly.
I highly recommend this location for a nice getaway.
My husband and I stayed on the farm for two and a half months this summer. We wanted to be near our grandchildren who live in Pennsylvania. It's a wonderful spot, in the heart of farm country but only 10 minutes from Doylestown, a very happening town with lots of great restaurants. Tabora farm store is around the corner. They have the most delicious home made breads, fruits, vegetables, paninis, and so much more. Wonderful museums near by and we so enjoyed touring the Pearl S. Buck home and the Mercer museum. Plus you're only an hour from Philly, lots and lots to do there. There were race horses and ponies on the property. My husband and my grandchildren were fascinated by them. The two Jackies, as I call them, the owner and the manager couldn't have been nicer to us. If there were any questions or problems, they were right there to straighten it out. It was a very hot summer so it was nice that they had a swimming pool to cool off in. All in all, it was a wonderful stay.
My family and I stayed here with our two dogs while we were waiting to move into a house in NJ. The property with the stables, converted barn, and gardens is beautiful, and the value can't be beat. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Jackie was very accommodating for us when our house wasn't ready on the day we were supposed to close, and we had to extend our stay twice. She also frequently checked in to make sure our stay was going well, and we enjoyed our conversations with her.
Our boys were thrilled with getting to see the horses and were able to ride them twice. The horses weren't there towards the end of our stay, but maybe horses will be there again soon. The horses were definitely a huge plus for us having kids. My youngest who is almost 2 went on and on about the horses the whole time we were there.
The location of the property in Bucks county and near Doylestown is great. There are lots of parks and the grocery store is very close by in Dublin. We also visited the town Pool in Perkasie which has a mini water park.
Another plus is that the Pearl S. Buck house is within walking distance of the property. We took the tour, and I highly recommend it. Where we stayed on this property used to be one of Pearl Buck's dairy barns before it was converted into a B&B. That was a very special aspect of the stay as well.
Also, there's a farm store and orchard nearby called Tabora that is awesome. We went there to pick strawberries, have lunch, get ice cream, feed a goat, etc... It is the most charming country store and great for kids! There were chickens and a great big rooster outside the store, too.
Thank you Jackie for a wonderful stay!
