We started out with intention of reliving a past traditional weekend of fun and golf in Sugarbush area by inviting three couples to join us. Then the idea expanded to having our gourmet group also join us after the first group left. Finally a third group with whom we had had season football tickets came from various parts of the country to spend the last few days with us.
The vacation and home far exceeded our expectations. The owner is very hospitable and sincerely tries to make your visit to her home a memorable experience. The home is well located, secluded, with exceptional views. Our gourmet group was delighted using the well-stocked kitchen for our ‘lamb fest’. The home and barn (also located on property) have many wonderful features that were a pleasant surprise.
Someday we hope to return.
Wow. Where to begin? We had the most wonderful Christmas this year, thanks in large part to owners Dori & Ian and their spectacular Pineapple Farm.
We flew in from Florida to spend Christmas with our extended family members who live in Vermont. By the time we arrived at Pineapple Farm the sun was setting and it was quite cold. We walked in - not to a cold, dark rental house - but into a warm, cozy home. A beautiful Christmas tree was twinkling with lights while the gas fireplace gave off a warm glow. Electric candles flickered in the windows... Then came the squeals of delight as our children (aged 5 & 3) discovered what was obviously their room - as it had been decorated specifically for them with their favorite toy theme and well stocked with toys. Their bathroom thoughtfully included a stool to reach the sink and a bucket of rubber duckies for bathtime.
This was just the beginning of the thoughtful concierge-type touches throughout Pineapple Farm. We hadn't had the chance to go to a grocery store prior to our arrival and, thanks to the provisions left for us, didn't have to go for a full 24 hours! We were well set with milk, eggs, juice, wine, beer, cheese, coffee etc...
The house was not only beautiful, but incredibly well stocked - with every type of pot, pan, serving dish and glassware we could need. (Mom's annual Christmas eggs mornay were a breeze thanks to the poached egg pan.) During our Christmas Eve dinner, we even received a surprise phone call on the house phone from Santa Claus himself, who was enroute to Vermont and knew that two Florida children would be there. We have to thank the owners for pulling some favors and making that happen!
We entertained friends and family comfortably each night for a week. Multiple seating areas in the main living room made for cozy alcoves of catching up and conversation over a glass of wine - which was great when the guys wanted to watch football.
We also took advantage of the cross country ski trail that passes by house and thoroughly loved waking up to stunning views of the snow covered mountain and trails at Sugarbush.
The home was very clean and modern, with more than enough storage throughout for our personal items, and equipped with every amenity you would wish for in a luxury rental. One of the best things about Pineapple Farm is its energy. It is a place that instantly makes you feel as if it is your home - not a stark rental or someone else's house. For us, it made this Christmas simply magical.
Fantastic, spectacular, beautiful, comfortable, upscale, and perfect attention to detail for the renter describes this amazing property.
This immaculate property should be in its own category of "Private B&B". From the personal touches, like milk and juice, waiting in the fridge when you arrive. To the beautiful house, up a country lane, giving you complete privacy. The owners of this home are not in your personal space, but they will provide anything you need from a simple phone call. It is the best of both worlds.
What a beautiful, well maintained home to stay in. The furnishing are spectacular, the living space inviting and warm, and there is plenty of room to appreciate the views. In the kitchen every there is any pan, serving dish, or anything else you could need to prepare a simple breakfast to a full five course gourmet meal. And the tea selection alone made me wonder if I had walked into a private tea stock.
This is a great property for two couples getting away or families that appreciate and enjoy nice surroundings. Our two family's children ages 10-15 loved their rooms, the nice bathrooms, and the property surrounding it. I would not recommend this for a family with very young or super energetic children. The railing upstairs and the beautiful furniture might be a challenge for parents with children that are busy.
The bedrooms are comfortable and stunning. All the bathrooms have nice towels and wonderful soaps. It is a pleasure to wake up in this lovely home.
Proximity to Sugarbush mountain is perfect. About a 10 minute drive to the mountain, on mostly main roads, is easy. For the non-skier, or visitor not in ski season, there are many shops, restaurants, and outside activities all within a short distance. This is the perfect blend of mountain seclusion and access to the villages surrounding it.
I would highly recommend to stay in the home if you want to go away, be comfortable, and never ever say, "well this could be better". This is a nice as can be.
