This 1/2 acre fully fenced property, boasts amazing gardens and ocean views with all day sun... inside the 2500 sq ft house the rooms are light filled and walls of windows let in the ocean view. Some of the islands most popular lakes and hiking trails are just down the road and across the street is a private little beach solely for your enjoyment. We are located 10 minutes from downtown Ganges from in the heart of Fulford Harbour a quaint little seaside village. There are many lakes, ocean beaches, hiking trails, and the islands largest provincial park close by.
Four of us spent a week here while attending a course. The house was very clean, comfortable and quiet. Views were great. Easy to walk to a lovely local restaurant, and to the bakery. Would definitely stay here again.
Morningside Cottage was the perfect place for four women to celebrate lifelong friendships and a milestone birthday. Coming from East and West US Coasts, it was easily accessible through the efficient BC ferry system. We all had our own bed and plenty of room to spread out or have an intimate dinner on the deck overlooking the peaceful Fulford Harbor. We felt at home from Day One. The location was only a short drive to the largest village, as well as so many other special places to discover. Exploring hiking trails and studios, good food, farms, gardens, swimming spots, shopping, biking and kayaking are all activities on Salt Spring, and you can keep your own kayak right there on the cottage dock! It is also on the quiet side of the island where we never heard the ferry coming and going as it is tucked around the corner from the port.
The owner was a very gracious host. She has done a remarkable job transforming this property into an island retreat. We highly recommend this property and look forward to returning to it in the future... no need to look elsewhere. It was the perfect spot.
We just spent two weeks in this gorgeous property with our 1 and 4 yr old. We spent every morning and evening eating on the deck and marvelling at the view. Sharon was lovely and provided us with absolutely everything we needed and tons of information on fun things to do with the kids. We walked down to the restaurant for coffee some mornings as well as ate there for dinner two nights. Delicious!
I would recommend this place to anyone, although we had to keep a sharp eye on our little one as there are great boulders for climbing on in the yard, and a very long fall over the deck fence. There is lots of room, and two full bathrooms if you had more people.
Be sure to visit the salt Spring Winery on one of the music evenings, and bring a picnic to go with your wine. Also the lavender festival is wonderful and laid back, perfect for kids. We loved Beddis beach, and the park at the little red school house for our kids. We went and got fresh bread and tarts down the road while they would run around. The Chris Hatfield trail was also fun for them to find the fairy village.
Salt Spring is a wonderful place to explore, and there are so many things to see and do we will be back for sure!!! Thank you so much Sharon!
We had never been on Salt Spring Island before and we were looking forward to attending the wedding of our niece and exploring the island. Thank you Sharon, for renting us your property for three days and at such a short notice (we had originally rented another house but the owner double-booked and we lost the place, at no fault of ours). The place was wonderful, the view amazing and the garden was beautiful. As our family of 8 all arrived at different times, we could watch the ferry arrive from Victoria and walk down to the harbor and pick them up. We were able to eat most of our meals outside and the kitchen was well equipped. Of course, there wasn't enough time to explore the whole island, so if we ever return we wouldn't hesitate for a minute and return back to this beautiful spot. Thanks again, Sharon.
We have another week (thank goodness!) to enjoy this wonderful place! I had never been to Salt Spring Island and what a treat of a place it is! And, after driving around the entire island, my husband and I decided we made the best choice for location AND for the property itself! It sets up above the bay with a fabulous view of the Fullford Harbor where we wistfully watch the ferries leave and return from Victoria. The front garden is out of a dream! Everything about the place is quite perfect and I can't recommend it enough! The owner Sharon is a delight and is careful to ensure all is as you need it!
This spacious sun drenched home boasts a south facing deck, perfect for your morning coffee as you watch the ferry moving down the harbour or the blue herons and eagles soaring overhead. Private yet two steps from the charming village of Fulford with its artsy little galleries, coffee shops, cafe, general store, and ferry terminal.
