Please take a few minutes and read the reviews about Buckley Bay Beach House.
The four of us - 2 adults, and twin 7 year olds - stayed at John & Sue's lovely property for a week over the Xmas holidays, and loved every minute of it. It had everything you might need to stay indefinitely - a large, fully equipped kitchen, a large ocean view deck with barbecue for cooking those oh-so-fresh oysters, a lofted living rooms with fireplace, and more than enough space to spread out and relax. The bonus features were, of course, the hot tub (magical in the snow) and the beach fire pit, which they were kind enough to provide wood for! We found numerous family friendly hikes in easy driving distance.
Highly recommended family friendly hikes in the area: Wildwood Forest, Nymph Falls, Seal Bay, Royston Seaside Trail and Little Qualicum Falls.
Also check out Cumberland's Bakery and Grind coffee shop. Yum!
Had a great stay at Buckley Bay. It's a wonderful property. Fitted to the highest quality. Great location - right on the waterside. Every facility provided for. Owners are friendly and available but gave us all the space we wanted.
I'd recommend to anyone and would rebook anytime I wanted to stay in the area.
It is a quaint property. The owners are very kind. We think very highly of them, however; this is not a luxury property even though it is on the beach? The accomodations are not luxury, at best. The bed linens are rather poor in standards. Not even a four star rating. To be quite honest, this is a Hotel 6.
Stayed here for the second year in a row. Absolutely no complaints. Everything you could require it provided. Quiet property, exceptional views, daily evening campfires. Just splendid. Will book again for next year. Thank you John and Sue!
My husband, 2 daughters and I had a wonderful week long stay at this amazing house. It was just the right size and everything we needed was there. We thoroughly enjoyed the firepit, jacuzzi, and breath taking views from the upper deck. The house is centrally located to take advantage of many activities nearby. The owners live next door and were available if we needed anything, but never intrusive. They were the perfect hosts. We look forward to coming back in the future.
Accurate Listing, Very clean well maintained, Owners were very friendly. The house was perfect and Kitchen, bedrooms and ammenities were excellent.
The beach was full of Oysters and rocks and was leased by an Oyster company who were very friendly and educated us on how it worked. I thought we were getting a sandy beach at low tide but no luck and was hard on your feet climbing through rocks to get to water.
My family still had a great time and we would suggest this place to friends.
Buckley Bay Beach House vacation rental is centrally located in Buckley Bay, a small community that is part of the Comox Valley on the east coast of Vancouver Island, BC. Our waterfront location, with private beach, wildlife viewing and large garden, will keep you as busy as you want to be but if your itinerary includes getting out to see more of Vancouver Island (and there’s lots to see and do) we have some suggestions for you.
Whale watching (for killer whales!!), salmon fishing, golfing, hiking in wonderful Strathcona Provincial Park, downhill skiing/snowboarding/nordic skiing at Mount Washington Alpine Resort, great family fun exploring at Horne Lake Caves, visit Hornby Island (the ferry is just down the road) for lovely hiking along the bluffs in Halliwell Park or on the beach at Tribune Bay.
