Overview

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Den, 2 Baths (Sleeps 8 in beds+1 more on Living Room couch)

Please Note. We have had record snow fall (over 50 feet) and as a result, the parking is limited, and you may need to walk up from another parking area about 100 yards away. But once at our house, you will have the adventure of a life time in the Snow.

This is a one of a kind Home hidden in the Mountains above Lake Tahoe off the Mt Rose Hwy 431 with views to Reno, on an unpaved road about one tenth mile from Main Hwy and only 2 miles to Mt Rose Ski Ares. Besides being a wonderful vintage home, the views are incredible. We are the proud new owners, and everyone tells us that this is the best built house anywhere around. We love it and want to share it. The first renters said they loved it and felt like they were in a museum. I would not call this a Luxury Home, but a very comfortable place to stay. One really feels at home at our home in the mountains. The Home is located right next to Sky Tavern Ski Area, which the builder of this home also Built. There is so much history for the area and Ski resort. Sky Tavern was the first Ski resort in all of the Sierras. We Love to speak to future guests. Feel free to phone me, Mark at 619-303-4687

About mark hoffing

We have been coming to Mt Rose Ski Area for over 12 years. We had the wonderful opportunity to purchase this Rustic Mountain Home just around the curve from the Ski Area. We want to share our good fortune with You. Feel free to phone me, Mark at 619-303-4687

Why mark hoffing chose Nevada

So comfortable Like Camping in the middle of the forest, but just a few hundred yards off the main highway. It is like stepping back a little in time and having all the comforts of home in the forest. Enjoy the forest, hiking, mountain bike riding, Skiing, Snowboarding, & Sledding, right outside of our home. Please note: If you inquire but do not make a payment, your dates remain open and not reserved.

What makes this house unique

One Renter said he felt like he was in a Museum. It is a lot like going back to the 1950's & 1960's in the decor.

Excellent rustic house

  • 4 of 5

Fabulous views of Reno. Wonderful sunrise and sunsets. Very comfortable. A little rough around the edges but would definitely stay there again. Curtis at the ski shop is a big help.

Not luxury, but had everything we needed for a pleasant stay.

  • 4 of 5

We had a nice stay at this place and would go back. Be advised that it is dated (70s?) and not luxurious, but clean and has some interesting touches. The highlight is the picture window looking through the big pines all the way down to Reno. Sunrises spectacular. We would go back.

Just getting real comfortable, kind of sad to leave.

  • 4 of 5

Just getting ready to leave this comfortable place and would definitely come back. Like the owner said, it's not a luxury accommodation, but it has everything you need for day-to-day living. Lots of windows to enjoy the mountain terrain and watching the sun come up over Reno in the a.m. a real treat. The bathrooms are really cool if you like vintage. The beds will have to be replaced sometime soon, but they're fine if you don't have a back issue needing a firm mattress. There is a nice inflatable bed, though, which fit the bill for me. Our sweet family dog is outside playing with the local pooches...she will miss them.

Pleasure and business trip to Reno

  • 4 of 5

Very quiet and we had a nice greeting from the neighbors dog. Very comfortable and well appointed. The only issue was the downstairs shower would not drain during your shower. Everything worked well and we had no issues other than the shower and that was only a minor inconvenience.

Relaxing home in the woods

  • 5 of 5

This quirky place worked perfectly for us since we needed to spend part of our time in Reno, part in Incline Village, plus a day in Virginia City. There's nothing nearby except a few neighbors, woods, and ski runs, so come with all the groceries you'll need and don't plan to be able to easily run out for a restaurant or shopping. The owner was pretty chill to work with. We decided not to bring our dog but this is a good place for one. We were visited daily by the friendly neighbor dogs. Best part: that amazing view!

Very clean, cute & rustic

  • 5 of 5

We rented this house with another couple for 2 nights while we attended a girls softball tournament. It was very clean and had everything you could need for your stay!! Very cute little place that is not very far away from Incline Village. Absolutely stunning view from front room window of downtown Reno!!!
