Our house is a quaint stone front, country cape built buy my mother and father 64 years ago. The upstairs has been converted to an open floor plan 2 bedroom apartment. Make yourself a home in the large bright eat in kitchen or open the sliding doors and enjoy the deck overlooking the pool with Catskill Mt views. The large bedroom has a queen size bed double closet and a cozy reading nook. The second bedroom has a double bed, and Catskill Mountain views. The bathroom has a tub / shower combination with a vessel sink.
Just 5 minutes from downtown Hudson you can enjoy the best of both city and country with your own private apartment.
The house was designed and built by my parents in 1946 and is surrounded by mature maple trees and lovely gardens. The upstairs has been converted to a large private apartment with a its own entrance and parking.
Owner/manager purchased this apartment in 1946
Living in the Hudson Valley is a wonderful experience, it is a great combination of country and city life. You can enjoy deers grazing in the fields in the morning shop and enjoy the galleries in the afternoon and then try one of Hudson famous restaurants in the evening.
My husband and I met up with some friends from Queens, NY for Memorial Day weekend. It was about a 2 hour drive for both of us and we later found out that they could have taken Amtrak right into Hudson had they known. Upon arrival at the property we were met by Bobbi who was cleaning the pool outside. She was super nice and offered us some suggestions for dinner places in Hudson. The steps were a little steep getting up to the apartment but once inside we were welcomed by cool AC that she had already turned on. The kitchen had everything we needed including cream and coffee ready for the morning. We did have to brew 3 different pots because the coffee maker is super small for 4 people. There's a small guestroom with a double bed that was fine for our friends. The master bedroom is large and all linens/towels were fine throughout the apartment. It was a little difficult for the 4 of us to lounge comfortably in the living room but we made it work. There is also a super cute porch off the kitchen with table and chairs that overlooks the backyard. When we went to dinner Saturday night in Hudson we were able to get in touch with the one taxi in the area who was able to pick us up and bring us home for about $15 per trip. Bobbi was the perfect host. She was there when we arrived and departed and would have been available if we'd needed her during the stay. Overall, great trip away. The location was great as we were looking to be outside of a busy area but close enough at the same time.
The apartment is absolutely perfect. Great 2 beds and plenty of lovely living space. The sofas and beds are super comfy. Kitchen well equipped. There's a a great roof deck too and you get to see sunrise and part of sunset.
Bobbi wS a great host giving us extra heaters and helping out immediately when we had a problem (weather related!).
Would definitely stay again! Thanks a million!
We stayed at this property while attending a wedding. It was very comfortable, clean, well-stocked with a beautiful yard. Our 12 year-old daughter enjoyed the lovely pool. We would definitely return.
The house is about 2 hours drive from NYC but a decent drive along the Taconic Parkway. It's situated just a short (less than 5 minutes) drive to downtown Hudson (Warren Street) with antique shops, charming boutiques, restaurants and coffee shops, even a great wine shop where we stopped by to have a tasting and bought a few bottles for home. The town is very hipster-ish without the pretentiousness. We spent time at Taghkanic State Park ($8 per car) but it is a CLEAN state park with swimming, playgrounds and restrooms. We brought food for a picnic and had a great day swimming with our 3 year old. The town is good for hiking and outdoorsy types.
Now for the house, it's equipped with all you need. Two bedrooms and the master is quite big and has a nice little TV in case you like to doze off to some shows (which we do). The bathroom is newly finished which was a nice touch. Air conditioners in every room was also a nice touch. Outside deck/eating area right off of the kitchen made for easy access and it's where we ate ALL of our meals, overlooking the pool and unobstructed views of the Hudson landscape. Living room is cozy for sitting, perhaps not for lounging around (laying down) as they were a bit short but you don't spend much time sitting in there because the clean, spacious inground pool in the backyard is really where you want to be. There's places to sit along the property, a Little Tikes-type swing set and even a small basketball court. The yard is HUGE. The pool is fantastic.
Bobby is kind and gracious. We'll return, for sure.
What I liked best about this rental was that we had a private country setting, but we were so close to everything! Only 30 min from Mass and less than ten minutes to the city of Hudson. It really felt like home, Bobbi was a gracious host with so many amenities provided. Our family would rent again and again, very affordable!
Bobbi was a great host! She was friendly and welcoming to myself, my boyfriend and our pug. The apt was super cute and cozy. We had everything we needed, kitchen supplies, towels, air conditioner, tv, etc. We were also able to use the pool as well and in the hot afternoon is was perfect. It was super close to downtown Hudson and other cute towns in the surrounding area. I would definitely recommend staying with Bobbi and will plan to stay there in the future.
Located in the heart of the Hudson Valley, enjoy the splendor of the fall season by apple picking, leaf peeping or check out the large variety of antique shops and art galleries in our unique little city. Ski slopes in the Bershire and Catskill Mountains are less than an hour away.
