My name is Gloria Piña. I grew up in this house and my parents gave me this house in 2010 to keep them in a Personal Care Home. My dad passed away shortly after giving me the house, however, my mom is 90 years old and is still in the Personal Care Home. My husband, Mike and I renovated the house in 2010 and rented it for 2 years to a young couple. We have fixed it up to make it a Vacation Rental due to its prime central location. The photo above is us at Fiesta. Fiesta is a 10 day event that occurs every year in San Antonio the third week of April. I was born and raised in San Antonio and there is a lot to do and see. In fact, my husband and I stay downtown twice a year -- at Fiesta and in September, during JazzSAlive festival. I have worked with my brother in law to make the house as cozy and home like as possible for all to enjoy.
Gloria L. Piña purchased this house in 2010
This property is located in a quiet historical area of San Antonio. You are close to downtown and Hwy 281, however, you would never know it due to the peace and traquility at the house.
When you come out of the neighborhood, you hop on Hwy 281 and can get anywhere in the city in minutes. Downtown is less than 10 minutes away. The Pearl Brewery is 5 minutes away up Broadway. There are restaurants and bars and a Farmer's Market on Saturdays there. Breckenridge Park, San Antonio Zoo, the Botanical Gardens, San Antonio Municipal Golf course are all within 5-7 minutes away. There are restaurants and antique shopping down Broadway which is less than 7 minutes away.
The place was good with an older feel. Everything is clean and well maintained just a little on the old side. The location is great as you are only a 10 minute drive, including parking, from the airport, Fort Sam Houston, grocery store and the river walk. It accommodated my wife, daughter and parents very well. Also, Gloria was super helpful and got a pack and play to the place for us. I would stay there again if I were to visit San Antonio.
My family and I came and stayed for Spring Break ... The home is so adorable and comfortable we will definitely stay again .. Ms.Gloria provided all basic necessities she also went out her way to make sure that my husband and I had coffee every morning .. There was no coffe pot when we got there so she went out bought one as well as coffee and brought it back before we went to bed that night .. Thank you so much Ms. Gloria
This property was awesome very comfortable and clean. We had 8 people and we all fit comfortably, would definatly stay here again.
We arrived Wednesday night. Streets to the house where very narrow and in some places it only one car fits. The next morning when we woke up we saw a very nice area with lots of trees and a nice back yard. I didn't realize how close everything was to this location. A river, park, San Antonio Zoo and Chinese garden are just around the corner. We enjoyed our stay. The floor was a little dirty in the house and needed mapping.
Our host was gracious and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. I would highly recommend this property for anyone who is planning to stay in the San Antonio, TX area.
