Historic Center Apartment Rental Photos and Description

2 bedrooms apartment sleeps 5 in Central Florence, near Duomo, Santa Croce

Unusual, romantic apartment full of atmosphere in one of Florence's oldest areas - that once occupied by the Roman amphitheatre. Indeed, the street takes its name from one of the principal entrances into the arena. Just 50m from the church of Santa Croce Church, 200m from Piazza Signoria, 100m from Piazza del Duomo, 200m from the Uffizzi Gallery and Ponte Vecchio, and 10m from Vivoli, Florence's best known ice cream parlour!! The apartment offers 2 double bedrooms (one with a French bed - 140x200 cm ), a fully appointed kitchen, a marble dining table for 6. It is tastefully furnished with the owner's personal belongings and is equipped with a TV, DVD and CD player, stereo, WI-FI, dishwasher, washing-machine, air cond

Just walking through the central courtyard of this beautiful Palazzo is a journey to the heart of historic Florence. Centrally located, it is perfect for sight seeing, shopping and food markets, discovering cosy trattorie and bars, as well as artists' and artisans atelier

Very Cool Place

  • 5 of 5

Our favorite of five VRBO apartments while on our 16 day trip. We not only loved the apartment we loved Florence. Go and stay in this 13th Century Castle in the heart of Florence. Fabrizio is an eccentric guy with an eclectic flare. He was very nice and extremely helpful. Despite having to clean an extremely dirty fan to get it to work - all was good. You must stay here.

Clean & cozy in the perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, three youngs boys, & I spent four days in this lovely apartment. It was very clean, cozy, & had everything we might need during our stay. Fabrizio was a wonderful host! The location is also perfect! It is within walking distance to ALL the major attractions. My 5- & 7-yr-olds were able to walk to & from everything, not once did we take a taxi (except when toting our luggage to & from Santa Maria Novella Station, but even that is a fairly easy walk). We will be staying here again in the future! It was perfect :)

Great Apartment, Great Location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here from May 23-26 two adults and one teenager and found the location fabulous. Fabrizio met us at the train station and took us to the apartment while giving us a little history of Florence. His English was very good. The apartment is in an old 13th Century building yet has all the features who need and want for today. The beds were comfy, bathroom was beautiful and we were able to grab a lovely pastry and cappucino every morning right at the corner. There was also at the corner a little market where you could purchase meat, homemade pastas, fruit, bread etc., to take to the apartment. Florence was gorgeous and if you required tickets into events etc., Fabrizio was more than willing to hook you up. I would definitely stay here again.

Location, Location, Location

  • 5 of 5

As the other reviews state, the apartment is really in a fantastic location. It is only a few minutes walk to the Uffizi and Santa Croce (fabulous church - better than the Duomo) and several excellent restaurants. The apartment itself is well equipped, though we only ate breakfast there. Wifi was perfect and the three locked doors give you a very safe feeling! As stated before, the one downside is that there isn't a sofa in the living room - only wooden theatre chairs. The apartment is only one floor up, but the stairs are steep and a bit uneven so it could be an issue if you have knee problems. We had a rental car which we could park in a garage about a 10 minute walk from the apartment for €25/day.

Great location, eclectic decor, and very responsive manager

  • 4 of 5

Fabrizio was a prompt communicator, both for the reservation and when we ran into a little trouble during our stay. He went out of his way to pick us up at the train station, and when construction workers in the apartment above caused a leak in our kitchen and bathroom he responded very quickly. There are quite a few interesting items & decorations from around the world in the apartment, so we had to lay down the law quickly for our inquisitive kids (8 and 9 years old). The kids enjoyed sleeping in the loft. The apartment is a short walk to the Ufizzi, Ponte Vecchio and Duomo, and about 20 minutes to Santa Maria Novella station. The hike up to Piazale Michelangelo was fairly easy too - about 30 minutes one way. The only reason we wouldn't give five stars is that, besides the kitchen table, there was no real place to unwind downstairs except for some wooden theater-style folding chairs in the living room. Perhaps no issue if there are only two travelers and the upstairs bed becomes a sofa.

Fantastic apartment and location!

  • 5 of 5

This apartment was clean, wonderful and in a great location. The apartment successfully combines a blend of modern conveniences and old world charm. It was neat to lay in bed, look at the centuries old wood work in the ceiling and think about all the history of the palace that you are sleeping in. Fabrizio also runs a tour company and we took advantage of going on a wine tasting tour in Chianti that included visits to some wonderful Italian villages and great views of the region's beautiful, rolling landscape.

The property is perfectly located for visitors who want to discover the essence of Florence. Situated between Piazza della Signoria and Piazza Santa Croce, it is in the heart of Florence's historical centre. This area is full of local colour and is lively, even though the apartment is on a small quiet road. There are plenty of boutiques, bars and small, intimate restaurants in the area, as well as some of Florence's most noteworthy attractions
