3 bedroom 3 bath - Vacation License #STPH 20130015, TA042-576-8960-01
Experience the beauty of a Maui vacation with the comforts of a family home. Paia Paradise Beach House is an old plantation style home with modern updates that take you back to the ambiance of another age whilst providing all amenities. The charming property provides four bedrooms & three bathrooms on the beautiful oceanfront of Paia Bay. Enjoy the stunning sights and sounds of the ocean from your own personal lanai and front yard or take advantage of the picnic area for outside dinning while watching a beautiful Maui sunset. Relax after a day of sightseeing in the full sized outdoor Jacuzzi, then rinse off in the outdoor shower.
The house offers a full ocean view and access while providing 3 bedrooms (two kings, 1 queen) and 3 bathrooms. The house is equipped with kitchen, living room, private entrances, parking spots, laundry facilities and high speed internet.
Cottage can be added to the reservation that will increase the total occupancy to 8.
THIS PROPERTY IS NOT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE.
The property is perched on a promontory giving beautiful ocean views of Paia Bay and its tranquil 1/2 mile long white beach. The house sits above a sea wall and has just ten steps down to the white sand. The property is gated and just a short 150 yard walk to the center of the delightful and colorful village of Paia. Great for a romantic vacation as a couple or enjoy the property as a whole with a group or for a family reunion.
We have rented several properties and always been very pleased with each of them and anticipated the same this time. We went to Maui for my Dad's 90th birthday which the owner knew but nothing was said that the house has at least five different levels in the house. You step down into second kitchen, down to bathroom from bedroom, down to main living room and up to another bedroom.
Beautiful view and we saw turtles feeding on the rocks every day but you can't get to the beach shown in the picture unless you go down very narrow rock steps. The porch had a mat that covered several holes in the landing and last step was very soft and concerned that it could break through.
The dishwasher wasn't working and we were told that someone would come and look at it. The message that we got back was that a rat probably ate through the wiring. We did loose some food as mouse dropping were all over the kitchen counter and floor and we did end up seeing a mouse in the house.
It is difficult to leave a less than stellar report on any house but with these things and then very poor response from the property manager and no response from the owner has lead me to be honest with those considering renting this house. The property manager never came to meet us or show us around the house, no info on the area in the house, no communication about how to access the WiFi and the information on the internet was not current. She said that the windows were not washed due to lack of time and water. Window screens not in place correctly, doors didn't close easily. This is again a beautiful spot and I know that it is hard to keep up with maintenance so close to the ocean but this house needs serious repairs to be able to charge the money that they are asking.
I am still waiting to hear from the owner about our concerns and would not have written this negative but accurate review is the owner had called and listened to our concerns.
My family and I really enjoyed this home in Paia on the beach. We took my parents there for their 50th Wedding anniversary and it was a hit! We had a great time and liked the split floor plan, the nice hot tub, the convenient walk to town and the overall feel of the house. We definitely would recommend it to others in a large group.
The home is well loved and the rate you pay is certainly worth every penny given the location. Cant say enough about our holiday here. I brought my adult children and their spouses and we all agreed it was the best holiday of our lives. The Banyan tree next to the house is truly a religious experience. We surfed every day off of the front yard and walked the beaches to our hearts content. Paia and all of its amenities was a 1 minute stroll down the lane but the hustle and bustle was to our backs as we enjoyed the waterfront. We could have been in Hana for that matter. Thanks so much Annie and Nayleen. Mahalo
I had spent countless hours looking at places to rent and my friends all agree that I found the best place possible! The pictures were very accurate; however, I was still blown away by how gorgeous and amazing the view was. The house was great, there were five adults and we each had our own room. My room had the most amazing views and comfy bed! There was even a second kitchen and living area, but we spent most of our time in the main living room overlooking the ocean and outside in our own yard by the sea! The stone stairs down to the water are a bit rough and steep so I wouldn't recommend small kids or disabled people. We had our little beach mostly to ourselves, except for some turtles that came to greet us daily. The private hot tub overlooking the ocean was fantastic!
Lena greeted us the first day. She was very sweet and helpful but gave us our privacy. When there was a water main break in town that shut down water to the town for a few hours, she had texted me before we even realized it!
There was a couple renting the back bungalow but we never even heard or saw them.
The town is great and everything was so close! We could just walk down the street and get coffee or fish tacos (literally a 2-5 minute walk to great restaurants and shops). I love that the town was not overrun by tourists. Locals are nice and laid back. The house was a great base, as we could go explore the island but couldn't wait to come back to our cute little town and awesome house.
For food, I recommend Mamma's Fish House. The check was big, but was worth every penny. It was more than dinner, it was an experience, with the beautiful grounds and view. The Mahi Mahi was the best on any menu on the island.
The weather was just gorgeous. Whether the sun was out or not, I was never hot or cold. It was just beautiful. And there were rainbows everywhere! I just cannot express how very happy we all were at this house. We had so much fun that we are immediately planning a return visit to the same place!
This house was amazing, and it worked great for our big family vacation in Maui! We rented both the main house and the cottage, and it was very comfortable, even with 11 people!
The house really is right on the ocean, with big breakers. From the deck, we could see turtles swimming. We could surf right outside the house, and the breakers made for awesome background noise for falling asleep at night.
The house is not luxurious, but it is great for a family vacation. There are two kitchens, which can be useful. Two of the four main bedrooms are a little odd, because they have big glass doors opening to a sunroom, which also has a twin bed and was used as a 5th bedroom. There were curtains, but those rooms still had less privacy than the other rooms.
The host was helpful and available to answer questions through texting or calling. At first, we had problems connecting to the internet, but we were able to figure that out, and then it worked fine.
The town of Paia is really charming and a great place to stay. It was close to the airport, and it was not a problem to drive to the other side of the island for excursions and snorkeling. We were very happy with the location and the house. Highly recommended!
Overall experience was very good. You can't beat the location especially for access to the beach which is right out the back door and walking to downtown Paia was a very short distance. The house was very comfortable. We spent every morning enjoying the sea turtles feeding on the reef and every evening relaxing on the deck. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay here. We had several other families that came for the same reason we did and none of the places they rented could even come close to being as good as ours. I would definitely rent this place again if some improvements were done.
The improvements I would suggest are;
1. Replace all screens on windows and doors. Actually, some windows did not have one at all.
2. Replace or repair the non working oven in the front kitchen.
3. Replace bathroom door in master bedroom.
4. If possible, put some kind of hand rail to assist going down the steps to access the beach. Kind of tricky getting down there with beach towels, etc and kind of scary for small children.
5. Repair key pad on inside of gate. I had to bring the remote opener every time we walked into town which was a couple of times a day.
6. Put a air conditioner in the front of the house because it can get pretty warm even with the windows open.
Annie and her staff were a pleasure to work with, extremely courteous, and very quick to respond to emails or phone calls.
This vacation Paradise is just steps away to Paia Bay, a short stroll to Baldwin Beach and Paia Town. In Town you'll finds many restaurants, coffee houses, galleries and shops.
