Quiet, peaceful and within minutes of some of the valleys best wineries.
What a great place to stay while visiting the Willamette Valley. The guest house sits in a wooded area on top of a hill with expansive views of the valley. Great deck with a gas grill and lots of trails to explore around the property. Inside is clean with a comfortable bed and usable kitchen with everything you need for making a great dinner. Jay gave us some great recommendations of wineries and restaurants in the area and a bottle of the best pinot in the valley! Side trips to Pacific City and Silver Falls State Park were easy to do. Thanks so much for having us, would love to come visit again.
We are are couple from Germany and looked for a nice, quiet place to relax after the long flight from Germany to the westcoast. Jays guesthouse was perfect for us. It is a very nice and clean cottage, has a great terrasse, is absolutely quiet and has a very comfortable bed. The location is perfect, close to all the wineries but far away from the hustle and bustle. Jay is a great guy; don´t miss a tasting of his wines. He also gave good recommendations where to eat, we liked the Thistle in McMinnville most. We highly recommend this place and would not hesitate to stay here again. Jay, thanks again for the great tasting and your hospitality, we loved every minute of our stay!
My wife and baby just spent several days at Jays place near Carlton Oregon. We had a magnificent time and found the guest house perfect. The deck provided an epic spot for relaxing and watching the sunrise and grilling dinner with awesome wines at night. It is perfectly located in the valley to make extended day trips to other vineyards and sites. In addition, Jay is a wonderful host. I highly recommend the spot and look forward to returning again in the future.
My wife and I spent an awesome week in the Oregon wine country and it all started with Jay's place. His guest house is in a great location for hitting the wineries in the area, grabbing a bite in any of the surrounding cities, and spotting a deer or two in the mornings.
I'm also going to throw in a shameless plug for his wine shop in downtown Carlton which stocks a great selection of vintages from the valley, as well as his own wine label EIEIO!
I opened my eyes in the morning and what an amazing start to the day. The front of the cabin faces east and what a great way to begin.
The owner was there to greet us when we got there and so friendly. We got a tour of the property with the wow views. So quiet and serene. The place was first class. We will be back for sure.
Just a few minutes drive from downtown Carlton, this cottage makes you feel like you are really on vacation in wine country. The back deck looks out on trees and fields, with deer all over the place, and is a great place to sip wine, bbq or have your coffee in the morning. The inside is perfect for a couple: clean, nice and is pretty comfortable. It was perfect quiet place to come back to after a day of wine tasting and eating out. Plus, the owner, Jay couldn't be a cooler guy; super-hospitable and incredibly knowledgeable about the area and great wine. You really can't go wrong.
