Jessica Young purchased this cabin in 2012
As avid lovers of the outdoors, this area really beckoned to us. With 2 state parks, the Willard Munger trail and the Kettle River so close to us, we have many opportunities to do all the outdoor activities we love.
We fell in love with this place from the minute we saw it. This cozy escape was everything we were looking for.
Great location and the owner really keeps it up. There is everything you need. That is a real plus to this place is that you don't have to worry about bringing the small stuff as the owner has taken care of it all. If you are looking for a place to get away and catch up on your rest and/or just reconnect with life this is the place to go.
I went up there with a few friends to reconnect on a trip back home to Minnesota. The house/cabin is very well appointed, clean, and well-maintained. Would definitely do it again.
My family of 5 (3 kids and 2 adults) plus our dog just returned from a wonderful stay at this cabin. It was -17 degrees outside and the fireplace was a godsend. I wrote a full blog review on this place here. It focuses mainly on traveling with children, but I'd also come back with just my husband because it was perfect for that too! A wonderful getaway from the twin cities. I hope to return. Here's the review: http://www.minnemamaadventures.com/2016/01/24/woods-visit-cabin-kettle/
The four of us were all really impressed with the cabin and accommodations! We have stayed at many over 40 years. and we're quite picky. There was a beautiful light snow one day that was very picturesque and then, towards dusk, we looked out the living area window down to the river and there was a deer, stopped in its tracks, looking straight up at us for the longest time. And, a couple of us really enjoyed the sauna. Owners were extremely quick to respond to our requests and very cordial. We highly recommend this getaway for others!!!
Me, my husband and 3 kids , ages 12,9 & 5 had a lovely stay at this cabin this fall. It's very very clean and well maintained. The owners obviously take pride in thier property. They have plenty of good books and an excellent DVD collection. Everything you need to cook a nice meal is in the kitchen. The river is a fair walk through the woods and this time of the year it's really muddy but well worth the hike when you finally reach it! We will definitely consider staying again.
We stayed at the cabin for two nights in October and had a wonderful time. The cabin has all the basic amenities and it set in a beautiful area. The short drive up to Banning State Park made for some fun adventures during the days, and we enjoyed a wonderful campfire and wood stove at night. Would love to return sometime in the future!
Our cabin is located on the Kettler River- one of the best rivers for kayaking in MN. The Willard Munger trail is located minutes away for hiking, horseback riding, snowmobiling, biking, mountain biking, and in-line skating. If you enjoy gambling, you'll enjoy Grand Casino Hinckley just 10 minutes away. Don't forget the 2 state parks just minutes away as well.
We are also located halfway between the cities and Duluth -just over an hour drive either way!
