This elegant 1000 sq ft, 2 bedroom condo has been completely remodeled and is the perfect place to stay to enjoy your Mammoth Mountain, California vacation in the heart of the Village. This unit is amazingly quiet since it is on top floor and boasts views of the Sherwin Mountains. It’s part of White Mountain Lodge, which is located centrally in the Village at Mammoth. A vibrant and exciting place to stay with the convenience of being close to the slopes, shopping, restaurants and night life. Walking distance to the gondola makes this condo unit basically ski in / ski out. Secure and gated underground parking is also included.

The master has a gorgeous, comfortable king bed with luxurious linens and offers its own 32" flat screen TV with over-sized, private bath. The second bedroom has a queen bed with its own 32" flat screen. Additional bedding is available with the pull-out sleeper sofa allowing this 2 bedroom unit to sleep up to 6.

Location: Mammoth Mountain is the highest ski resort in California and is notable for the unusually large amount of snowfall it receives compared to the other Eastern Sierra peaks -- about 400" annually and about 300 out of 365 days of sunshine. During the summer, the ski gondolas can be used by mountain bikers and tourists, who wish to get a summit view of the Long Valley Calder to the east and the Sierra peaks to the west, north, and south. To the south of the mountain, there are a number of lakes that serve as tourist attractions in the summer.

Loved the location and proximity to Village restaurants and gondola!

Loved the location and the customer service was outstanding (thanks Junior!). My only complaint is that the bed mattresses were uncomfortable and the bed's frame stuck out so much that we all got it in the shins during the stay. Other then that it was clean, accessible to all the mountain amenities and we enjoyed our stay:).

Location is perfect; condo is ok but not luxurious

We've gone to mammoth many times but always stayed in condos by canyon lodge. Staying at the village was way better with restaurants, general store, coffee, and the gondola right there. It was basically ski in/ski out. The unit is on the top floor which is nice. There was some street noise from the barhoppers at night, but not unbearable. The unit was very warm which was odd since it was so cold outside- we turned the thermostat off but it was still very warm. The pull out couch mattress was terrible, but thankfully the kids didn't complain. The master bedroom has a king mattress which is a great size, but the low bed frame extends an extra 8 inches on each side and my husband and I kept stubbing our toes on it- ouch. The mattress is not comfortable, but the linens were nice and soft. The master bath is huge and it was nice to soak after a long day. The shower itself is old and the design was a hodgepodge so nothing screamed of luxury. The last thing was that the wifi was out all weekend so I wasn't able to work remotely as I was hoping to do. If it was a fluke it would be one thing but apparently the wifi is usually down. That should be included in the condo description IMO. Shout out to Rich from the cleaning service who was very helpful with our late arrival and the condo was very clean!

Nice but a bit noisy

We found the room to be very nice, well equipped, great location in the Village and the reservation group was helpful and accommodating. But the rooms were very warm during our stay in August which caused us to keep the windows open day and night. The room overlooks the main thoroughfare to Mammoth Main Lodge which results in traffic noise and is above the shops and parking lot across the street. We found it to be noisy early with truck deliveries to the eateries and the last group of partakers late into the night. It's very likely much, much quieter during the winter when the windows would be closed and the partakers not willing to brave the winter cold. It's a nice place to stay, very close to everything you might need but the noise reduced our rating to three stars.

Nice property, needs maintenance

This property needs maintenance. Master Bedroom - one (1) light out and smoke detector falls from ceiling. Master Bathroom - shower head needs cleaning or replacement, three (3) lights not working, door handle not functioning properly. Bedroom #2 - fan not working and one light is out. Two small fans are placed in the room since the ceiling fan is not working. Kitchen sink - spray nozzle not working.

A text was sent to Junior on Saturday 08/06 at 11:19 am. No response was provided.

At the premium rate to stay at the Village, the unit should not have these issues.

The Village without the convenience

This condo is nice and quiet, exactly like booking a room at the Village. Actually, it is identical to a room we had at the Village in December. The difference is you don't get the benefits of the hotel.

First, we had to meet some guy at a gas station in Mammoth to pick up our key. We had to rush to get there at a specific time to meet him instead of being able to take our time on the drive up, and it was just weird meeting some stranger in a gas station parking lot. If it wasn't non-refundable, we probably would have canceled when he started texting to see when we'd be arriving.

You also don't get the maintenance help of the hotel. The freezer was dripping into the fridge, and the cup that the cleaning people had put there to catch the water was overflowing. Normally we'd ask maintenance to fix that. Instead, we put a bowl in the fridge. There weren't any extra blankets, and we couldn't ask for any. There also weren't extra sheets, so when my daughter got sick in the middle of the night, we all had to cram into one bed because we couldn't get sheets from housekeeping. The front desk was nice enough to send someone to fix the fireplace and television for us.

It is a very nice condo though, and you get use of the pool and hot tubs in the Village. The gondola is close by, as are plenty of shops. The pizza place and Starbucks are right down the stairs, so that is very convenient. We'd stay here again if the hotel is full, but stick with the hotel otherwise.

Could be and should be far better

For the price, the beds should be far more comfortable. We were there for 5 nights and we could have used more towels. The fridge/freezer needs to be replaced. There was a measuring cup catching drips from the freezer that is not working properly. You couldn't shut the fridge door without the freezer popping open ... Causing water to drip on the floor.

The unit is fine but nothing special as the other reviews make it sound. It's not the best unit we've rented. The kitchen tools need to be replaced, especially the cookware. (There is not cheaper pots & pans available.)

There should be handheld shower sprayers in the showers. They should also invest in a French press and a coffee grinder.

The porch hasn't been cleaned in a very long time. It was warm when we were there but the porch was just too dirty to enjoy.

The management company was great but they are doing the bare minimum here probably due to previous guests walking off with anything worth anything. Too bad.

Overall it was fine but not 5 stars fine. The humidifiers were nice to have.

This unit is in the side of the building that gets full sun very early in the morning in both bedrooms. If you're spoiled like we are with blackout drapes, it takes some adjustment.

From the reviews, we were hoping for a more luxurious unit. It was just average.
