We loved our stay at Lynda's wonderful home. Our family (including several small children) had a more than enough space to accommodate us all comfortably. We can't wait to return hopefully in the summer so we can see the sheep!
Very warm reception by owners. Fresh eggs and cookies were great. We had plenty of room for the 7 of us in our group. Saw deer and the birds were a delight. In particular enjoyed a trip to a local wool company. Thank you!
My family stayed at this property for my nephew's wedding in Red Hook. It turned out to be very close to all the wedding activities. There is a very large master bedroom that shares a bath with another large bedroom. There are two smaller bedrooms as well. All the beds were comfortable. There were plenty of linens provided for all of us. There are three showers in the house so it was no problem for all of us to get ready. There is a roomy downstairs with a sectional and a bar area; we did not use this space. The kitchen and dining room are large and fully stocked. My grandchildren enjoyed the goats and sheep on the property. The owners are easy to communicate with. They provided fresh eggs and some chocolate chip cookies for our arrival--a big hit. We had a great time.
Along with six of my colleagues I rented this beautiful house. It was the perfect location for our two-week education workshops we were teaching at Bard. The owners were very nice, and even gave us some of the eggs from their farm. The place was more than adequately equipped. I would definitely stay there again.
My mother-in-law booked Shepherd's Knoll for the weekend for much of our extended family, including great grandma who is in her 90s and my two-year-old son. The house was charming, extremely well-equipped, and best of all had LOTS of space for all of us to spread out and sleep in! There were several bathrooms (3 in total) and comfortable beds. It was great having a sleeping room in the downstairs for the toddler who could sleep peacefully while we all stayed up and talked, and great having all the main living spaces on the entry level for great grandma who needed a little extra support walking. In all, we slept 6 adults and one child on the site and fed 8 adults and two children at the dining table. More could have comfortable stayed too.
We were in the area to help my brother-in-law and his family settle in at Bard College, and the location could not have been easier--just a few minutes' drive. We also loved visiting the Taghkanic Lake State Park beach and the Duthcess County Fair, and Olana State Historic Site. The area has so much to offer!
The setting was incredible! So many beautiful trees, including fruit trees, right on the property, and my toddler loved the animals--chickens, goats, sheep! The hot tub and sauna and all the board games at the house were added bonuses too. Our hosts were so kind, they even brought over fresh eggs for our breakfast the last morning we were there! We really loved our stay, and are busy trying to plan a way to come back!
We were two families with children and attended a Horse Show at the HITS ground in Saugerties. We were looking for a place to relax after a long day at the show grounds. This was the perfect place. Lots of space for all, well equippe kitchen, nice backyard, clean and perfect. My only regret is that we didn't get to spend enough time at the house to fully enjoy it!
