My husband and I have been together since we were teenagers and have always made our way up to Pennsylvania from New York for the past 32 years. We accidentally found Jim Thrope when we picked up a brochure for mountain biking. When we turned into the town we couldn't believe how beautiful it was. As we took our first step into this house, we were in love. I hope you will have wonderful memories, adventure packed weeks or just stop in and fall in love all over again!
Denise Rossano purchased this house in 2011
Besides the obvious reasons of beauty, the history of the house and its location, just sold us.
Walk to musical shows, museums, restaurants and shops.
Everything about our stay was fantastic!! The house is very clean, everything you need is there for you. The town is great as always. You are right in the middle of town, park your car on Friday and there is no reason to go anywhere. Denise is wonderful to work with.
The accommodations, location, and amenities with the property were all beyond our expectations. A group of 5 couples had more than enough room in the 5 bedrooms and around the large dining room table. The rental was for the entire 1st floor of the house and every room was filled with antiques and fascinating details. The house is located just up the street from the retail row of shops and restaurants and there was no need to ever move the cars once parked on Friday night. And although close to the action, there was no street noise to speak of (although it was winter and all windows were shut tight). The house was stocked with all of the plates, cups, glasses, cutlery, wine opener, etc. you could ever need and there was a dishwasher for clean up. Plus the owners had all of the cleaning products, trash bags, paper goods, plastic ware, toiletries, etc. you'd ever need for a fun weekend or a longer visit. I can't say enough good things about the rental process, the house, or our stay. Highly recommended!
Centrally located in the heart of Jim Thorpe - walking distance to everything. Denise was very friendly and helpful with suggestions on what to do while there which my entire family appreciated. She was around to help with a few things that needed fixing around the house and was readily available at all times. The parking isn't far or hard to get to and it holds a bunch of cars so no problems there. The house is huge inside and beautifully decorated. All of the rooms were located on the first floor which was perfect for my handicapped mother. The ten of us never felt like we were on top of each other and we felt like we were at home. I highly recommend a stay here any time you want to explore Jim Thorpe (which is very pretty at Christmas time!).
We were very happy with this home. When we walked in everything was clean and the house is really a nice size. This house was situated right at the beginning of all of the shops and restaurants so we could walk everywhere. The owner was so nice and gave us a lot of information about the surrounding area and the history of the house itself. I would stay here again for sure and trying to find another reason to go.
This house is truly a step back in time. It has more than enough room for 1-10 people. Each bedroom has gorgeous furniture and the beds are so comfy. The kitchen has everything you'd ever want or need and the eating areas make you feel you have travelled to a different age. The entire house is immaculate. The living and front rooms are inviting to sit and stay, whether spending time with friends, reading or enjoying a glass of wine. The house itself is situated within walking distance to all that Jim Thorpe has to offer, restaurants and stores and sightseeing in town. It is an unbelievable bargain for what you get. I recommend anyone that wants to get away to relax, visit this house!!! Denise is the perfect host and is so helpful with whatever you need. I can't wait to go back.
This Victorian house maintained its historic vibe, while the bedding, towels, bathroom are clean and tidy, just like what you would expect in a hotel. The location is great - everything in the town of Jim Thorpe, PA is within walking distance. It took us some time to find the parking place, but the owner is very nice and patient. Oh, I forgot to mention the barbecue grill - the best I've seen in rented vacation houses so far.
Steps away from The Mauch Chunk Opera House, fine restaurants and entertainment. Amazing outdoor activities to choose from like hiking, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, paint balling, festivals to name a few. Walk through the village in downtown Jim Thorpe, shop at our unique vintage shops, visit our numerous art galleries, Take a tour of the Asa Packard Mansion or our beautiful St. Marks Church with its stunning Tiffany windows. Walk or take historic tours on a Segway. Take a 25 mile train ride through the most beautiful mountains in Pennsylvania or take a ride into the coal mines and hear all the history of our coal miners.
