Austin’s diversity in culture, style and outdoor activities makes this city the perfect home for this musician/teacher/engineer/nature lovers/international couple. We love here! Coming from Brazil and India, we couldn't ask for a better place!
Paola and Aditya purchased this house in 2012
We simply love downtown Austin. You see, we fell in love with each other salsa dancing at many of Austin’s great live music locations.
As often as we can, we visit Lady Bird Lake for a relaxing hike & bike outing, followed by an indulgent meal in one of downtown’s world famous local eateries. We have always wanted to take a vacation in our 'own' town, just by traveling a bit south. When this delightful and character filled property right by the lake became available, we jumped on it!
The 'fight' was fierce as lots of potential buyers felt captivated by this property as well.
The care that this home’s previous owners showered on it can be summarized by the shared quote from both buyer & seller’s real state agents after closing:
“In our collective 40 years in real estate in Austin, we have not seen such a high demand property”. We are fortunate to call this our home away from home, and hope that the TOWN LAKE HOME will be the same for you.
We had so much fun. We were right next to down town. The uber ride was crazy cheap and we were able to spend a great weekend down town. The back yard is great to sit outside and enjoy some drinks! The house is beautiful and the bed was super comfortable! I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Austin!
The kitchen was very well equiped wirh everything you need if you cook at home. We did not find this with other homes we've rented. The owners are in cintact with warmth and welcoming information ....
Our group was two couples in our early 30s that traveled to Austin for New Years. The living room and two bedrooms were spacious. The shower had strong, hot water and we couldn't have been happier. It was a short uber ride (under $8) to pretty much everywhere.
As soon as we arrived we made ourselves at home. The owners thought of everything. I appreciated the character and charm of the home. It was very clean and had everything we needed for our week long stay. We actually spent Thanksgiving there with our kids and ordered our dinner from Whole Foods. Everything was perfect! We took several walks through the neighborhood and felt completely safe not even being familiar with the Austin area. We created special family memories that Thanksgiving week. I would recommend this home to family or friends. I went with 4 stars because I did get the impression that it was within walking distance to downtown. It was close to the lake though which made for nice walks. Otherwise it was perfect for our family. Need to mention we had pizza from East Side Pies, LOVED IT!!
This home is so adorable and comfortable. It is also very conveniently located. We loved it!
The house smelled like musty old house but it was clean, the coffee was good, and the beds were fantastic! Also, if you plan on spending most of your time downtown, it is in a very good location.
Forbes Magazine ranked East Austin one of the America's Top Hipster Neighborhoods. East Austin earned the 7th place in this list due to its diversity in style and culture: a variety of food trucks and locally-owned bars and restaurants, walk ability score, saturation of coffee shops per capita, number and frequency of farmers market, and residents with artistic occupations.
