About Carmen Karady

Aloha! My name is Carmen Karady and have lived in Lahaina for fifteen years. I teach yoga at the nearby hotel resorts and senior center. I am an active member of the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset. As International chair for our club, I have travelled to Africa, India, Japan and Egypt and Europe.

I have a wonderful partner, Norman Estin, who is a physician in town for Doctors on Call. The terrific news is that I'm a grandmother.

Why Carmen Karady chose Maui

Voted as one of the best beach towns in the USA, this is a great location for tourists and locals alike, and it's getting better all the time because many of the historical sites are being renovated.

One of the advantages of staying in Lahaina is that you don't need a car. Everything is in walking distance--from the Banyan Park to the Harbor. The beach is right outside your backdoor, as well as next door art galleries, museums, churches, restaurants, and shops. The location is incredibly convenient.

What makes this condo unique

Maui is special for many reasons: its rejuvenating qualities are due to the fresh air, sparkling warm ocean, sunshine, and constant year-round ideal temperatures. Not only do the winter birds flock to Maui, but summer birds as well because of the moderate climate. And let's not forget Maui's volcano, Haleakala, 'House of the Rising Sun,' a pilgrimage well worth taking at dawnbreak or sunset when you can simultaneously watch the moon rise and the sun set. Then there are jungles and waterfalls, golf courses galore, and day trips to neighboring islands. So many fun things to do.

One of the most unique benefits of this particular location is direct beach access--just walk out the back gate! Next door is the surfing school where you can rent paddle and surf board; and you can join my yoga classes for free.

Worth Every Penny

The listing accurately described this room, and the kitchen utensils/pots and pans were perfect for cooking for the week.The room was clean and the view of the mountains was breathtaking. Being just a few minutes from the beach, pool, and jacuzzi was the perfect setting for a week away. Great to have a laundry room on the same floor to wash beach towels and dirty laundry. 505 Front Street was a few minutes away for any grocery items, souvenirs, or a happy hour bite to eat or drink at Betty's. I would highly recommend staying here, and would love to stay here again.

Lovely Stay!

The studio was clean, well stocked and well located. It was especially nice to have a front desk in the lobby for easy check-in and check out. Don't hesitate to book this unit. Everything was as advertised and very nice.

Clean, spacious and cozy.

This wss right in the heart of lahaina. Walkable to everything. You can even walk along the beach from the hotel to the harbour, which was nice. The room was clean, cozy, and what we expected. Nice and big kitchen and it was stocked with lots of odds and ends. (Neosporin, nail polish remover, bug spray, curling iron, hair dryer, spices, condiments, ice, shampoo, conditioner, soap) We would stay here again for sure. Carmen was great to work with and very responsive. Parking was an additional $3 a day, which was cheap. Only issues we had were with the property itself, not Carmen's unit. The parking garage smelled like the dump and you had to hold your breath upon entering. The halls in the hotel also smelled like old stale smoke. Being a non smoker it stands out. Once inside the room it goes away or you don't notice it as much. The beach chairs were pretty tattered and old so we had to rent chairs but that was cheap so no big deal.

All in all we enjoyed our stay, will recommend to others and will most likely be back.

I will have housekeeping chuck the old beach chairs. Thank you for alerting me. The obnoxious smell in the underground garage has been remedied. Lahaina Shores is a non-smoking property. All guests have to sign the agreement upon registering. Perhaps the enclosed corridors need a better ventilating system. I will share your review with the GM and hotel mgr. mahalo, Carmen Karady

Good experience

The building is in an excellent location. Parking is close to the building and the parking fee is only like 3.00 per day. The property sits close to the beach and has easy beach access. This particular unit does not have an ocean view, and that was made clear in the ad. The bed was super comfortable. We stayed for six nights. It would

Have been nice to have had more bath towels and wash rags (only had 2), and maybe fluffier beach towels and more than one bar of soap. Might consider investing in another beach chair that sits higher. Overall, the experience was really good and we would stay in this unit again. It wasn't luxurious, but it was definitely a comfortable unit. However, air conditioning could be better, the unit would not go below 75 and as a result it felt stuffy in there at times.

Wonderful first time visit to Maui!

We came to Maui for the first time and stayed at Carmen's property. All of the reviews I read reguarding her place were very complimentary and I have to say, we were not disappointed! The staff at Lahaina Shores bent over backwards to make sure our stay was enjoyable. The location was great; within walking distance to shops, restaurants and our Luau. Carmen really thought of everything as far as extras went. We were very pleasantly surprised. She was also very kind to us and a pleasure to deal with. We would definately stay here again as there were so many more things we wished we had time for. Would highly recommend staying here to anyone. Mahalo! The Moellerings from Texas
