This well appointed, updated Folly Beach private home is located just a 1/2 block off Folly's Center Street and just 4 short blocks from front beach. Private off street parking for up to four cars. Once you park your vehicle you will have no need to get back in it to navigate Folly Beach restaurants, bars, shops and beach access. Perfect location and private setting.

"Folly Reclaimed" is a soulful 2 bedroom/2 full bath home originally constructed in 1933 and christened "Murmar". If this home could talk you would not believe it's adventures. Once a front beach home overlooking the tranquil waves of Folly Beach, this original Folly home faced the possibility of being removed, in order to build a larger home that better suited the owners. Luckily a couple with deep roots in the community knew of the charm and beauty this home possessed and with great planning and patience, were able to move the home to it's present location. Painstakingly they renovated and updated it to it's former glory and then some!

This home tastefully fuses timeless 1930's beauty with modern conveniences. Elevated to rest among the trees, guests are provided a shaded retreat on the 300 square foot screened in porch, comfortably enjoying outdoor living and ambience. Walking through the front door you are greeted with a cheerful open living space which includes a fully equipped kitchen, dining area and cozy living room. Big things come in small packages and this home is no exception. The kitchen provides you with all you need to whip up a gourmet meal. Stainless steel appliances. Full size refrigerator/freezer. Electric range and oven. Full capacity dishwasher. While our wonderful restaurants are just steps's always nice to be able to create your own specialties with local fresh seafood from Crosby's Seafood along with fresh local produce from various farmer's markets in the area. If it's in season then it's available.

The dining room is directly off the kitchen and is furnished with a spacious table for four. Enjoy meals, conversation or your favorite game while embraced in the warmth and beauty of the lovingly restored, original tongue and groove beadboard walls and ceilings. Stripped down to it's original finish where possible, the beadboard escorts you throughout the home, whispering secrets of simpler times. Pine floors in the living room complete the inviting space. A wonderful spot to curl up and read a book or watch a program on the flat screen TV.

Walking down the hallway you feel as if you are taking a journey back in time. Bedroom #1 greets you on the left with a fully prepared full size bed. Bedroom #1 is furnished with an antique armoire for storage and a precious desk for those who might need a small private space to work or catch up on emails. Both beds in the home are prepared with 100% cotton sheets. Just slightly down the hall you will find a full sized bathroom with a shower/tub combo. Guests are provided with 2 bath towels, 1 hand towel and 2 wash clothes per person. Bedroom # 2 functions as the master bedroom and has a queen bed. As you will find throughout this home, this bedroom is full of warmth and charm, while also being bright and inviting. There is a full bath located directly across from this bedroom and if needed there is a hall door that can separate this bedroom and bathroom from the rest of the home. This bathroom has a full size stand up shower.

There is plenty of off street parking for four cars if needed. The home has a small, private fenced in yard that can securely contain furry family members while offering shade and comfort along with some much needed off-leash time.

Wonderful home for two couples, a small gathering of close friends or family, a small family or just an individual needing some salty breezes. This is a single family home and is not a shared space. Lots of shade and privacy while also being located close to the restaurants and shops. Easy walk over to the beach or rent a golf cart from Charleston Golf Cart Rentals or beach cruisers from Cool Breeze Bike Rentals. Perfect first family vacation!

This cottage is adorable and very clean! We loved the old folly charm that seeps from the uneven floor boards and antique decorations. Porch was perfect for breakfast and dinners. Walking distance to town but its very quiet. It is located next to transformers which I wouldn't want to live next to but was ok for a vacation. No sound was heard from them at all and probaly also helps to keep this house quiet since its one less neighbor. We have a 4 month old so we didn't head to the beach that often with him but I could see where it would be too far away with older kids when you have to tote so much stuff. There is a large hotel at the end of second street that prevents you from entering beach right there so you have to travel 1/2 block either way to get to a beach entrance. Fenced in yard was great for our little dog and I hope this house stays as nice and clean as it is with being a pet friendly rental. I loved every inch of how Diane decorated this cottage and appreciated the kitchen being fully stocked with gadgets. If you like to cook while on vacation you do need to bring the basic staples (like cooking spray or olive oil) otherwise the utensils needed to cook are all there! I think they did a great job renovating this cottage and would recommend it. If anything all the unique charm made it TOO cozy since we commented that we didn't want to do much but relax while there...but that is what vacation is for, right?!

Quintessential Folly!

A wonderful laid back beach cottage central to everything Folly has to offer.

300 feet to the center of town, walk everywhere , enjoy everything.

From the cotton linens to the fully equipped kitchen you can’t ask for much more.

We lived on the screened in porch, coffee in the morning, naps in the afternoon.

Summer time and the living is easy!

Diana was most helpful and accommodating, a local who truly loves the island.

My only negative is I had to leave and make room for the next guests.

I am hoping to make this an annual event and stay longer!

Pets are considered with a 125 non-refundable pet fee per animal. Pet fee does not cover any damages made by the pet. Please keep pets off ALL furniture and bedding. Please pick up after your pets outside and dispose of properly in outside receptacles.
Trash and Recycling pick-up is every Monday during the peak summer months. Please take both cans out to the road the night before and bring back under the carport the following day.
We do not rent to anyone under the age of 25 years. If guests falsely secure the reservation they will be asked to leave immediately without a refund.
This is not an event home. No parties or gatherings. This home has a maximum capacity of 4 people at all times. If you exceed the maximum capacity you will be asked to leave without a refund. If you have small children under the age of 2 please speak to management before reserving so we can make an exception on capacity.
Do not open window while running A/C. Please make sure you turn off thermostat if you want to open windows.
