I enjoy all sorts of activities...especially spending time at Lake Almanor with my family and friends. I find it relaxing and peaceful there. Born and raised in the Bay Area, I spent 25 years in Chico, CA. In 2014, I moved back to San Francisco.
Deanna Lares purchased this house in 1995
I wanted a place that my family could return to year after year to share time together.
I love being right on the lake! The view is incredible and I enjoy watching and listening to the wildlife. It is easy to access the lake...just walk down to the dock!
We are now home after spending a wonderful week in your Almanor house. We had a great time and really enjoyed your house. It is located in the best spot on the lake. We all want to come again next year.
My family and I have stayed at this cabin over 7 times in the last 6 years - each time has been terrific. It is a great place to stay as a single family but we have also stayed with two families and once with three couples, each time was wonderful doe to the layout of the cabin. Two master bedrooms and plenty of space to spread out.
The cabin is well stocked if you like to cook and the view can't be beat. Very clean and the owner is very accommodating.
I have recommended to many friends and they too have had great experiences at this cabin
On an annual basis for the past three years, myself, my brother, our cousin and our wives rent a mountain facility in order to spend some quality time together. I would say that this year's time at Lake Almanor was our best time so far. The house and setting were even better than what I expected by the pictures. Everything was effeciently handled according to our agreement and there were no surprises nor dissappointments. Last year I attempted to rent another house at Lake Almanor from another party only to be informed at the last minute that they had sold the house and were not going to honor our contract. This house was delightful in the grounds, neighborhood and views were exceptional. We were able to launch and run our 22' inboard day cruiser conveniently and the properties pier and dock were an added pleasure. We would certainly
consider repeating our stay at this house with no reservations.
We have been to Lake Almanor a few times and stayed on the east shore. We decided to try the west shore and the country club area. The property is older and we expected it to have some wear and tear which it did. Probably a 3 star rating based on age and condition IN SIDE. While the property can sleep six easily the hot water is very limited and on the north end of the house you never really get any hot water in the shower.
Unfortunately, the bats on the property were out of control and that really ruined our vacation. We arrived to find the back deck near the outside walls and the outside walls facing the lake covered in bat feces. I mean covered. The picture windows out the back are heavily streaked in bat droppings and urine etc. We did not use the deck. About 8:30 pm hundreds of bats emerge and descend on the property. We also have bats where we live but not like this. In the morning the front entry of the porch would be covered in bat feces. Each morning I would go out and hose it off so we wouldn't be tracking all that crap into the house. It became work just trying to avoid all the carp.
If you are looking for a vacation home that's clean and you can enjoy the deck etc this is not the rental for you.
On the lake, quiet, well equipped and clean, ...everything you need for a great vacation!
Owner was friendly and accommodating. A great vacation.
This place was perfect! The location is spot on - right on the lake, not far into town, but also still felt private. The house is very spacious and accommodating. We cooked a Thanksgiving meal for 10 with no problem. Best of all - the owner was very available and responsive. I would highly recommend this house to any one I know.
My entire family enjoyed our stay. The house accommodated 10 adults comfortably. The kitchen and deck was great as previously mentioned in other reviews. The owner was very gracious and helpful. The only negative was the lack of AC, a few days were very hot and quite uncomfortable without AC. I'm not sure if we hit a overly warm week, but AC would have made are experience a 5 star. Would recommend to all.
