Why Paola Santizo (manager) chose Guatemala

I designed this property and I spent hours and hours pouring over designs to come up with my dream home. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

What makes this house unique

The home is very spacious, and we have paid a lot of attention to decorating details. The garden is of a good size, but what really stands out are the 3 outside patios/terraces, with a roof top terrace that gives you a 360° view of Antigua and its surrounding mountains and volcanoes!

Very nice location

  • 5 of 5

House is very pretty with lots of space. It's about a 150-200 quetzal cab ride to the main part of town. The house comes with a Guatemala cell phone and a specific cab to use. Along with many options of things to do nearby.

Excellent place to stay. Everything is as advertized. Very clean; very quiet area; comfortable and relaxing. I wanted to stay here longer and just enjoy the view and the sound of the waterfall in the back yard.

Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

Amazing house at Antigua!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed during a weekend with friends. The house is amazing and it has everything that you might need. The house is super clean and fresh towels and linens are provided. The owner even ensures that fresh flowers are part of the decoration. The house is conviniently located. Look no further for a place to stay in Antigua.

Another great stay!

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from Antigua and our second stay at C. Candelaria. Our stay this time was just as good as our previous stay, and maybe even better in some ways! There is something very reassuring about knowing the little nuances of the house in which you will be staying, knowing what you need and don't need, knowing the neighborhood, and knowing the house will be clean and welcoming.

On this trip we really took the time to relax....

-- The 1st floor covered patio and the second floor balcony are super for enjoying the views of Agua, Fuego, Acatenango -- and the sunrises/sunsets.

-- The roof terrace also provides views of the volcanoes, the town and hillside.

-- The bedrooms are very comfortable, with the upstairs master and another bedroom sharing the second floor balcony.

-- The soaking tub in the master bedroom is lovely after a day of sightseeing and shopping.

-- The downstairs bedroom (with large adjoining bath) is great if you don't want to climb up & down stairs.

-- The kitchen, with its window seat is one of my favorite spots!

-- The cable service and internet connection are excellent.

-- There are enough tiendas within a few blocks to easily keep the refrigerator stocked with basics and snacks/treats.

-- And if you're headed out for dinner, a tuk-tuk is available around the corner within minutes.

In addition, C. Candelaria's owner is responsive, gracious, and a pleasure to deal with. The property manager makes sure everything is ready for your arrival, and is available if you have any questions or needs. The housekeeper is charming, keeps the house clean, and has a real knack for making flower arrangements and positioning them in the perfect spots throughout the house --- we haven't yet taken advantage of her cooking talents.

Overall, this spacious property is safe and secure, close to all the restaurants and shops, yet out of all the traffic and noise. Two couples/small families could certainly share the home comfortably.

This is a lovely home.... in a lovely town!

Highly Recommended

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Candelaria. The house is well located, spacious and in great condition. The views from the porches are exceptional, as the photos make clear. The showers are fantastic, which is a rarity for the region. Highly recommended.

Best Lodging Experience

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Casa La Candelaria from 2/7-2/10/2013. .. We have been to Antigua quite a few times, and this was by far our best "lodging" experience! .. The house was perfect for our needs - spacious, lovely furnishings, clean, and not cluttered. .. Although we did not cook at the house, it was set up nicely for cooking. .. The bedrooms were very comfy (nice firm mattresses) and the bathrooms were well designed. .. The patios & terraces allowed for several very relaxing spaces. .. The views of the volcanoes were unbelievable. .. Wired internet connection worked very well (I couldn't use WiFi, but that was probably a problem with my laptop). .. The property manager had everything set up for us on arrival; the tour service that we used for transportation to/from the airport was excellent; the housekeeper was charming. .. The location of the property was a bit removed from the center of town, but we liked that - and it was very se! cure. .. Tuk-tuks were available on every corner! .. Would we rent this lovely home again --- YES! .. Would we recommend this home to others ---- YES! .. Muchos besos la Antigua & C. la Candelaria. .. Cate & Joel (USA)
