Beach vacations are great but we just love the lake. We have enjoyed many lakes in the southeast but the first time we visited Chatuge we knew we had found the perfect lake.
Our house is located in the Water's Edge Community and we chose to build here because we wanted to enjoy all of the beauty and amenities it has to offer.
Within 2 and a half hours of our home in Marietta, it is easy to get to and a scenic, therapeutic drive along the way. The views from the lake of the surrounding mountains are truly remarkable and unique. The lake is large but not too crowded. We feel safe as we enjoy a variety of water sports.
This cottage home has a layout that really works well for our family. It is new, well built, crisp and clean. It is comfortable and with enough room for everyone to have space to relax. The views are even more stunning than when we began construction. Close proximity to the water is a real plus. The more we visit Lake Chatuge, Hayesville, and Hiawassee, the more amazing things we find that there are to do.
Our week in the Cottage on Lake Chatuge was nothing short of perfect! The house was clean, comfortable and well stocked. The setting was perfect for our family allowing us to play outside, take in the view and enjoy the lake. Location is private, yet not too far from fun activities and shopping. We can't wait to return!
We had a wonderful, relaxing weekend for New Years. The house and all of the furnishings are beautiful. The fireplaces were wonderful, and we thoroughly enjoyed the amenities (ping-pong, pool table) in the house. It was hard to leave on check out day- we just wanted to stay! The owner is great about communicating and is very hospitable, making sure we got in okay, etc. My parents had stayed at the house previously, and the owners even provided a crock pot for their 2nd stay when asked about it :) We will definitely be back. Thank you so much!
Great property, very clean and well stocked. View of the lake and the mountains is really nice. Having a boat ramp is nice as well. I would love if the master bedroom had a tv, but that is really the only "negative" (and I used this term loosely) about this property. I would stay at the property again in a heart beat.
We needed a place to get some rest and relaxation and this home was very comfortable and beautiful. The master bed on the main level was very comfortable. The furnishings in this home were as though a professional interior designer staged it. The towels were plush and the house was very clean. The couch was down and very comfortable, too. It was fun to turn on the outdoor fireplace and roast marshmallows. The lake was too cold to swim in this time, but we are sure to come back when the weather is warmer to enjoy with family on the lake. The owners were very gracious and accommodating for our stay.
We loved our stay in this beautiful, quiet house. The community was quaint and picturesque and convenient to town. I don't know what it would be like in the summer peak season, but for us in October, it was wonderful.
First time staying here and it was wonderful. It was well appointed and had great views of lake. John was great to work with, responded to all questions in a very timely manner.Would definitely recommend to others and will stay again when in the area.
