Our family has been visiting Door County every fall, and some winters for the past 26 years. We fell in love with the gorgeous views and all the activities that the peninsula has to offer. From the changing of the leaves, to sledding and cross-country skiing in the winter, bike riding, sun-rises/sun-sets, boating/fishing on Lake Michigan, and the amazing local food...
It has been my dream for years to own a vacation home that I can enjoy with my family for many more years to come. I am glad to share a piece of my family's dream with all of you!!
Angelique Moreno purchased this house in 2012
One look, and you will know why we chose this property. The views are breathtaking, and the grounds are magical and serene. Our home is also far enough away from all the goings and coming, yet close enough drive to partake in all that Door County has to offer.
My wife and I have been coming to Door County, this week in September, for the last 14 years. First camping, then condos, and then renting a house right on the lake for the last 6 years. This is the BEST of them all. Actually too much house for two people. But we really enjoyed it.
We like the location because it is away from all the main touristy areas. Pick n Save is 5 minutes away, Gliddens restaurant is 15 minutes, and the Peninsula Players 25 minutes. Since we have been coming to DC for years there isn't much left for us to go see, therefore it doesn't bother us to have to travel 30 -45 minutes once or twice a week to go do the things we want to do. We sort of make a half day out of it.
The view from the dining table or the couches is fantastic, especially during a thunder storm. Nature can really put on a display with her lightning. The large windows, facing the lake, give unobstructed views of whats going on outside, plus give plenty of light to the main area to
make it feel light and airy. Kitchen was well stocked for the meals we cooked, washer and dryer came in handy when needed, and the beds were very comfortable. We had a small problem when we first arrived, contacted the owner and the problem was resolved within the hour. They were very accommodating on the issue!
Outside you can relax either on the deck, the Adirondack chairs, or on the beach. Plenty of room on the beach for even practicing golf sand shots. We come to DC to relax and chill out and that is exactly what we did, The home was very clean, in very good condition, and had everything that we needed for our week there. It filled the bill exactly. Would definitely want to return.
I found my little piece of heaven here. It was a short stay only because it was last minute and limited availability. I had a "picture" in my mind of what I was looking to find to relax and recharge. This certainly exceeded my expectations. The views of the lake are breathtaking, my morning walks were a favorite part of the day, and the evenings were at the grill and fire pit. What more could one ask for? So many fun adventures and Cave Point County Park is a must visit! Enjoy....I can't wait to come back next year! - Jodi / Oklahoma
Great location on Lily Bay. Super beach for play and walking. House perfect for two families to spend a beach week--all the amenities--firepit, grill, screened porch, deck, outdoor shower, fully equipped kitchen, lots of space! Our third visit. A perfect vacation spot.
This property is beautiful. The large scenic windows in the living room and kitchen areas over look Lake Michigan. The property is located directly on the beach. Great for swimming and making sand castles. The house is large with 4 quiet bedrooms. My kids slept very comfortably, as did the adults. The house is very clean and well maintained. We loved this property and will be returning! Thanks so much for sharing your vacation home!!!!
One word from our experience at this home, COMFORTABLE. This home suit all our needs for our family of five with three adult children.
We loved the privacy that it lent and the setting was simply lovely. The Adirondack chairs were a favorite for morning coffee chats and planning for the day. The set up outside is well planned as inside. Dining for five, weber barbecue grill and fire pit right outside. The house has everything you may need for cooking plus a keurig coffee maker.
The listing read to bring your own bed linens and towels for personal use, but there were bed linens provided. This may need to be updated in the listing if continuity of linens will be provided (one less thing to pack) 😃We did use our own towels.
There is a landline for the home. We did not have service from our ATT mobile provider. Wifi signal was fair in strength and worked for connecting most of the time. You may just need to reboot the router. These issues may/may not be relevant for some folks. You go on vacation to unplug, right!? 😉
Overall great experience and would consider again if visiting Door County.
Loved staying at this home. The view of Lake Michigan is beautiful. The den was the perfect place to put our grandson in his pack and play, and it also has a fold out couch. The grounds are beautiful and we loved using the fire pit in the evenings. There is a public boat launch next door, but it is not close to the house or very busy. Plus it's fun to watch the fishermen come and go. Lots of natural beauty and peace and quiet!
