I am a Long Islander, with a dream in Mind. We have purchased this home ideally for us to eventually move down there. Until then, you reap the benefits of a home without the mortgage!
Sharon Veltre purchased this house in 2011
I chose to buy this home because it was the closest home to the marina and i didn't want a condo. From this marina, you are opened up to the mouth of the gulf with direct access which is a rare thing considering how many man made canals there are that go no where! You will enjoy this place as much as we do.
Inside a sheriff guarded gated waterfront community with direct access to the gulf.
Worried about your kids safety as they play? Inside the development there are very strict rules on the speed of your cars. No more than 20 miles per hour. Also there is a designated bike route thru the entire development for safety.
It is difficult to match the previous review, except to say that Jen and Sharon are excellent owners, who responded immediately to any question or concern. Everything you need for an enjoyable stay is provided. We especially enjoyed the walking trails and live music at the on-site restaurant, Cass Cay. We are avid golfers and prefer a regulation length course, so we played at Twin Isles, which offers a seasonal membership, and it is a walkable course. Thank you for everything, Jen and Sharon.
We had a great 3 month stay at Burnt Store Marina. Located between Punta Gorda and Cape Coral, this thriving community has just about everything you need. We especially enjoyed the onsite 27 holes of golf and being able to ride our bicycles all over the property. We also took a few of the eco excursions right from the marina, I.e. sunset cruises and over to Boca Grande for the day. There is often live entertainment on the deck at the marina, perfect place to bike over, relax and have a drink and a meal.
Burnt Store Marina is a huge place. They put out a monthly newsletter (also online) that lets you know what is happening. That's how we found out about the Michigan party....lots of fun meeting up with the many folks from our part of the US.
The owners, Jenn and Sharon, could not have been nicer. We communicated pretty regularly before and during our stay. Unanticipated maintenence needs cropped up (water heater failed) and can happen to anyone. We contacted the owners and they had a new water heater installed that very day. What was important to us was not the problem, but the way it was handled. Definitely an A+
The house itself is just as it appears in the photos. We had 4 sets of visitors while here and they were comfortable as well. The guest room daybed is actually a trundle, with the bed underneath coming out to be popped up. It is completely separate from the day bed and can be placed anywhere.
The lanai is spacious and a perfect place to enjoy the sun, if you don't feel like going to the pool. It's quiet and very private. It's also really nice to have dinner out there.
One thing you might like to do, and was suggested by the owners, is to rent a golf cart for all or part of your stay. We did and enjoyed it for golf as well as for transportation around the hundreds of acres at Burnt Store Marina.
Staying here was a great experience, largely in part to the graciousness of the owners and certainly to the setting.
Great house in a secure, friendly and quiet neibourhood. Perfect for walks, bicycling or just relax.
We had wonderfull weather.
We would come back anytime.
Thank you Jennifer and Sharron for everything.
The property was in excellent condition with many extra ammenities in refrigerator, kitchen and baths to get you started. Great lani for sunning and gathering. Great location with super restaurant with in walking distance. Great walking paths with manities in the marina. About a 15 minute drive to a grocery store.
I had the wonderful opportunity to get away for a weekend near Ft. Myers. This location is about 45 minutes North of Ft. Myers Airport up 75, but once there, no need to leave! This open and spacious two bedroom accommodated a couple and a single with private baths for both. The house is clean and well maintained. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. The lanai is like a tropical paradise. If you play golf, the three executive courses will challenge your short, sand and putting games. Boaters will marvel at the marina and all the amenities. The restaurant/bar in the gated community offer a great lunch, dinner or drinks and appetizers.
Great Destination! Located on beautiful Charlotte Harbor, ranked as one of the top ten places to sail by Sail magazine, the basin is just 10 miles to the Gulf of Mexico. Charlotte Harbor is the second-largest estuary in Florida, encompassing 270 square miles, yet it is one of the state’s best-kept secrets. Burnt Store Marina provides direct access to this boating wonderland, just south of Tampa, between Sarasota and Naples. As the largest marina on Florida’s west coast, and one of the largest marinas in the state, Burnt Store offers visitors limitless and unrivaled encounters on the water. For the sailor, Burnt Store Marina provides some of the best day sailing imaginable. As soon as you leave The Marina, you’ll be on Charlotte Harbor’s calm, protected water where you can spend all day just sailing. The Marina is the host location for Yachting Vacations, voted the best sailing charter company in the world seven years in a row by Cruising World Magazine. For the angler, these pristine waters present the best saltwater fishing Florida has to offer. Snook, trout, red-fish, cobia, pompano and more live here in abundance. From April through July, the area is covered with tarpon, the silver king. Few places on earth offer such genuine opportunities for landing the trophy catch of a lifetime. For power boaters, secluded barrier islands accessible only by water are within miles of the harbor, including Cayo Costa, Cabbage Key, Boca Grande and the exclusive, private island of Useppa. The quaint, historic towns of Bo-ca Grande, Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte, overflowing with old Florida charm, are delightful destinations by boat or by car. Burnt Store Marina welcomes all boaters, and can accommodate vessels up to 100-feet, with deep-water wet slips and dry boat storage. It’s pure paradise for anyone who loves the open water. While at port, enjoy the onsite amenities including a challenging 27-hole executive golf course, biking and walking within the 600 acre gated community. The Club also provides dining, a wide variety of special events, activities, classes and outings and is a social center for non-golfers as well as golfers. Life doesn't get any better than this.
