About Dr. David 'Bucky' Wagmer
We have had our home on the island since 1972 when I was a coach and administrator at Florida State University. Our children were raised on the island (we spend most weekends here) and they still call it home. We completely remodeled and enlarged the property in the early 2002. It is virtually a new home. In the last two years I have replaced the air conditioned and heat pump, the dish washer, the clothes dryer and the refrigerator, painted the interior and the outside decks, installed new carpeting throughout the carpeted areas and added new larger flat TV's to the great room and the master bedroom. The home is again like a new home. We currently live in Statesboro, GA where I have retired as Associate Professor of Sport Law and Athletics Director at Georgia Southern University. I have also retired from my own athletics consulting business am a licensed real estate broker. My wife has retired from being a manager at an electrical coop. We have four children, all married, all college graduates, and all able to pay their own house payments.....We are in love with the island and hope to spend much more time here in our retired years. I am an avid fisherman and can tell you where to fish and when to fish and my wife knows every restaurant and every shop in the area. Please feel free to ask out advice about anything pertaining to your vacation.

A great beach house
Bucky's Beachhaus is a great place to relax. We really loved the house and especially
the partially covered back deck with view of the gulf. One block walk to the beach,
lots of privacy. Thumbs up!
Thank you Michael, sorry you couldn't stay the extra day. The next visit you will qualify for a 5% return renter discount. Have a great summer.
We love staying at Buckys.
Bucky’s Beachaus had everything we needed. The back deck is perfect for relaxing with morning coffee or cocktails. The beach is a short walk away. This was our second stay and we will be back next Spring!
Thank you I sure enjoyed visiting with both of you.. You are always welcome
Absolutely loved staying here. The house had everything we needed. The beach was an easy walk, right around the corner. Enjoyed the back deck, perfect for morning coffee or afternoon drinks.
Would definitely stay here again!
A Comfortable Place
The house and amenities were all we needed. The deck was an added dimension that we used more than expected. For example, when it was too windy on the beach, we could stay on the deck and enjoy the sun. Regardless of the weather conditions, we probably ate dinner on the deck most of the week.
The owner was helpful and informative about local places of interest. We will check with him again about the availability of his property when we consider SGI for our holiday.
Very comfortable and clean house
House is located very conveniently on the island. This house has very comfortable furniture. Just like you were at home. Outdoor shower a big plus for getting sand off. Will definitely be back to this house. Wife and I really enjoyed our stay. Bucky made sure every was OK with our stay. Thanks Bucky! Tom and Carla

Thanks so much for your concern of our well being during our stay at your home. You and yours have a great year and I hope I will be writing another review next year.
