This is a spacious single level 3 bedroom, 2 bathroomed luxury Villa which sleeps 6 guests, built in 1996 to the owners exacting specification. It includes a 12m by 6m heated swimming pool, hot tub and fun Barbeque Table. Casa Feliz enjoys spectacular mountain and sea views. The private and well maintained gardens include lawns, fish ponds, a stream and waterfall, cactus gardens, many trees and palms and a large variety of tropical fruit trees together with a small vineyard. This is a home and as such has the normal creature comforts such as 47 in Flat screen TV and Satellite, DVD player and of course Internet access via WiFi. This home is designed for both indoor and outdoor living in mind.
Marie has an MA in Fine Arts and Ceramics and has her studio here in La Palma. The house reflects many touches of her passion.
John is a retired Consulting Engineer and, together with Maries design experience, created this beautiful home.
John Gelder purchased this villa in 1996
When my wife, Marie and I arrived on La Palma in 1988 we had a warm and instant craving to stay here. Originally we lived in Cancajos but in 1996 decided to seek the peace and tranquility of the Brenas. We designed and built this house to an exacting specification and included many little touches creating a home from home. Comfort and practicality are the order of the day, an example of this is the BBQ table where all guests can sit in comfort whilst cooking their own meals.
Unlike the majority of properties on La Palma, Casa Feliz accommodation is on a single level with plenty of space for both indoor and outdoor living. Also the house has full Double Glazing.
We stayed here early January 2017. John the owner was very helpful and responsive with the booking and giving instructions and recommendations. Pilar welcomed us at the airport and we followed her back to the house where a welcome cheese platter, glowing fire and wine was ready. The house had everything we needed, fully equipped kitchen, heating, warm pool and amazing garden. I ate guavas off the tree for the first time since I was a child.
I would highly recommend this house and La Palma is a quite, beautiful island.
Thanks for making our stay so enjoyable, we'll be back!
We are two couples who have taken holidays together regularly for many years and we are all agreed that Casa Feliz is the best house we have ever stayed in and we seriously doubt it will ever be knocked off that top spot. The arrangements with John and Marie were made very easily and their agent, Pili, was brilliant. We had no trouble finding her and the carat the airport and she delivered us safely to the house, which on our arrival was gently lit and dotted with flowers to greet, in addition and there was a fire burning in the grate in the main sitting room making it feel like home. There was a welcome platter of food and drink and supplies for breakfast. Pili left us with clear contact details and is a helpful list of good restaurants. The next day we explored the grounds and simply couldn't believe our luck. The pool was wonderful. We spent our days relaxing at the house when the sun shone and exploring the unspoilt island as the clouds arrived. We loved Marie's ceramic work and wished we could have some at home to remind us of our stay. We enjoyed the abundance of bird life and had fun lizard spotting. We conducted controlled trials to hasten the ripening of the tasty avocados picked from the groaning bushes and reached the conclusion that it takes 6 days whatever the method. Even an exciting flight home courtesy of Storm Katie in the UK of could not take the shine off our wonderful stay in Casa Feliz. Thank you John and Marie much for sharing your beautiful home. I suspect it will not be long before we want to return
What a privilege to stay in this generously comfortable and homely villa, with the luxuries of a large heated pool and hot tub plus sea and mountain views. Unlike other Canary islands, La Palma is a botanical feast. It is a geological wonder. Car hire by easy prior arrangement is necessary to explore this fascinating place.
The owner is extremely welcoming and helpful, and is easily contactable beforehand. His Spanish representative, Pilar, will arrange the car hire and take you to the villa from the airport. She will also troubleshoot any queries with the villa.
Things to do - drive over the top of the caldera, visit the southern tip where the last active volcano was (1971) and the salt pools. Eat at Casa Goyo with all the locals (at the end of the runway!), and lunch at the modern restaurant by the Salt Pools and the lighthouses.
Exceeded expectation, just as advertised, peaceful, relaxing, did not want to leave, 3 weeks of bliss. One tip is to pick your avocados from the trees in the garden as soon as you get there as they take a fair time to ripen. Good position on the island, pretty central for all destinations. Car essential. Views from the villa are wonderful both back and front. Would return and recommend without hesitation.
My family and I have just returned from a short break at Casa Feliz.
We were very happy with the property, which was acurately described and well presented. We were particularly impressed with the welcome pack, which saved us from having to go in search of a meal after a late arrival!
The owner arranged a "meet and greet" service, which was a real bonus since the property would have been quite tricky to find in the dark.
We had one minor problem when the electricity supply to the laundry failed, but after a call to the owner's agent this was sorted out very quickly.
We are already planning a return trip, which really tells you all you need to know about the property!
The property is beautifully presented and well equipped, on arrival the local rep was on hand to follow from the airport to the villa, and was excellent when we contacted her for assistance.
The pool is excellent and heated to make it very usable even in October.
The BBQ table was so much fun, with excellent local meet available from either the little supermarket (walking distance) or the larger one a short drive down the hill we hardly eat out during our stay.
Would I recommend you book this villa YES and we will be coming back.
I can't thank the owners enough, not only for their excellent communications and advice prior to our visit but also the oppertunity to stay at their beautiful retreat.
