This stunning blend of modern green design and repurposed 100 year redwood is the perfect base for all Sonoma county has to offer.
The original turn of century cabin was recently brought back to the bones and rebuilt to the highest standards using recycled and green building materials as well original redwood from the house and salvaged materials from a local historical hotel.
The result is a super comfortable New York loft meets cottage in woods that is perfect for couples, families or groups of friends to enjoy creating amazing dinners using local produce and wine in the spacious open chef's kitchen surrounded by 300ft redwood trees.

Wireless internet and a 60 inch television in the media area as well as a 42 inch television in the master bedroom are just a few of the amenities you will find along with a full size washer / dryer and a shower big enough for the whole family or friends.

I am a designer and writer living between San Francisco, Hawaii, Austin and Taos with frequent trips to India. I love animals and nature. I'm also a huge fan of mountain biking, snowboarding and yoga. We put lots of love and thought into our home in Occidental and feel deeply honored to get to share it with you.
Looking forward to being in touch and getting to hear your story as well.
Justin Hilton purchased this cabin in 2011
Nestled in towering redwoods of Camp Meeker, with wineries galore a short drive away, Occidental with great restaurants and artisan shops less than a few minutes drive, Freestone with the famous Wild flour bakery and the Osmosis Japanese Spa just a few minutes further down the road. Tomales Bay is a short drive as well for kayaking and fresh oysters.
Bodega Bay and Jenner are also quaint little towns worthy of exploration as well as the many State and county beaches near by and our favorite place for a picnic ' grove of the old tress ' also just a short drive way.
Bring your bike, the area is home to some of the most picturesque road biking in the state as well as plenty of great mountain biking trails. The chef's kitchen comes fully stocked and besides visiting the many wineries of the area we recommend stopping by Andy's produce stand or Whole Foods In Sebastopol for delicious local goodies. Also just a Short drive away is another Sonoma county favorite Kozlowski farms. Every Square inch of this tranquil retreat was designed with comfort and conservation in mind. We look forward to sharing it's beauty and serenity with you...
The property was lovely, well kept and secluded. It is located in a wooded area off the main roads. Plenty of room for a large group to relax and have a nice party. Parking is a problem if more than two cars are there. That is they only negative. Enjoyed my stay.
Justin and team provided a great stay in the beautiful redwoods of Occidental. They're great with communication and the house was lovely. We would book this house again!
We rented this cabin for a group of adults attending our friends' wedding in Occidental. It was just a short drive down the hill into town where their wedding was held at the Inn. The cabin is a perfect mix of rustic charm and high-end luxuries. The view is worth more than anything else. This perfect little house sits in amidst giant redwoods which can be enjoyed on the wrap-around patio. Beds were comfortable and amenities were really nice. Cabin was clean and airy. The property owner/manager was very prompt in all email responses about the place too. Very positive experience!! I'm thinking of renting this property again sometime for a weekend stay up north. Thank you!
The good: The cabin is clean and very well maintained with modern fixtures and kitchen appliances. Beds are comfortable and showers are very nice. Kitchen has a stereo that works well and connects by aux cable. The not so good: Internet connection is not very strong. TV has only a few working channels.
All in all, a great place to rent out for a getaway trip.
My husband and I, our 33 year old son and his friend were staying in the area to enjoy participating in the Levi Grandfondo event. Other than a little difficulty in finding the place in the dark, we found our stay there to be very pleasant! The decor was eclectic and unique! Beds were very comfortable, lovely big kitchen and eating area, several decks to enjoy the outdoors and a separate ajoining building for casual gatherings. The area is quite remote from town, very quiet and picturesque. Would definitely consider staying there again. If you don't want to cook in the gourmet kitchen, there are several wonderful and unique places to eat in Occidental! We had supper at Negri's Original Italian Restaurant and breakfast at Howards Station. I would give both an excellent score for good food and service. By the way we finished the Levi Granfondo - my husband and I - age 70 and 71,the Piccolo-30 miles, our son and his friend, age 33, the full gran-100 miles! Beautiful place to ride and the race was wonderfully organized with lots of community out to cheer us onward!
I loved this house! It had two decks, beautiful house, and beautiful bathrooms. The hosts left us a bottle of wine and they provided everything from hairdryers, shampoos, towels, etc. They even had a dishwasher! The house is up in a tangle of tiny, winding roads, but it was still fairly easy to find. It is close to lots of fun places- Occidental, Armstrong Park, Bodega Bay! Lots of room for all of your friends! Cute decorations, very fun place to stay.
Occidental, CA is the closest city, about 1 mile away . The property is convenient to countless wineries , beautiful rugged coast , the Russian River resort area and easy drive to anywhere in Sonoma or west marin county
