About Mark and Anne Reiner

The Reiner Family has lived on Lake Miltona for 13 years and have lived in the area collectively for over 30 years. We enjoy sharing our home with others and have always been pleased with how our guests care for our home during their stay. We welcome families both large and small for their gatherings. We love our neighbors and they will enjoy seeing you vacation here, so we ask that you are respectful of them as well. We cannot allow pets at all since we have members of our family with severe allergies. Of course, no smoking. We will not accommodate bachelor or bachelorette parties.

Why Mark and Anne Reiner chose Minnesota

Our home was designed for entertaining at the lake. We come from large families so the home was built to share with others. We hope you will come and enjoy this property when it isn't in use by our family. We have family nearby in case you need anything. This home is relatively new, but was designed to feel like an old time lake home. Hopefully, the minute you enter you will feel like you have stepped back in time and will relax and enjoy the lake as you would have in days gone by. The home features large gathering areas including a great room that opens to the kitchen, a large 11x36 four-season room that can be converted to a scrap booking or quilting area. The kids will love the built in European style bunkbeds! There is also a screen porch that overlooks the lake and is one of the best napping spots in the world. There is a copper clad wood-burning fireplace, deck, large shady lawn and awesome sandy beach. The rental is by the week from June through August and available for 3 day weekends throughout the remainder of the year for retreats. We can accommodate up to 14 quilters or scrapbookers with individual tables, special lighting and more. Lake Miltona is one of the finest lakes in the area known for fabulous fishing, clean water and every kind of water sport. Within a short distance you will find Carlos State Park, bike trails. downhill skiing, antiquing, live summer theatre, many opportunities to enjoy local musicians, an award winning local winery and so much more. Lake Miltona is also known as an excellent ice fishing lake and the snowmobile trail is nearby. The slogan for Alexandria, the neighboring town, is 'Easy to get to, hard to leave.' Come stay and we think you will agree.

What makes this house unique

The things most people love about our home is the warm and welcoming feel the minute they walk in the door. It is new, but has the look and feel of a charming old lake home. The great room provides space to gather for a meal or visit with a small or large number of people around the beautiful copper-faced fireplace which features huge antique beams. There are also lots of places to get away and read a book or just enjoy the summer breeze. Across the road is a picturesque farm with a small lake that provides awesome pictures of sunsets. Out front you have shade, beautiful sunrises and lots of sand. You might even want to bring your boat/pontoon or rent our pontoon and enjoy a leisurely tour of the amazing 5800 acre lake. You can stop by the sand bar where dozens of people gather to play volleyball and mingle in crystal clear water with a sand bottom. Once again, the easy accessibility of this home makes this an easy place for everyone to visit. Looking forward to meeting you

Awesome place to relax with family on a peaceful lake

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful place was perfect for our family. It is much better than even the pictures portray. The beds are wonderful. The home is huge and very well equipped. The owners are amazing and even left us a lovely gift for our parents' 60th Anniversary. Highly recommended!

The property was awesome!!!

  • 5 of 5

We just finished our Labor Day weekend family get together and had a great time and the house was perfect. The set-up of the house handled all of us with room to spare. The table and refrigerator in the attached garage was a perfect overflow room and helped separate the kids from the adults. The giant yard between the house and the beach was great for the kids running around and the front driveway area provided plenty of parking. The only disappointing part of the weekend was Mother Nature, constant 25-30 mph winds directly off the lake from Friday afternoon until late Sunday night prevented us from enjoying the lake and fire pit.

After 4 years of staying in this home and we couldn’t be happier. We have made so many memories it has been fun to watch the kids grow and get excited about staying at “the cabin”. Although this place is not your typical cabin…this “home” is what we look forward to every year. It has started to feel like our home away from home. The kitchen is set up with everything you could need an more for amenities. We no longer have to bring all that extra stuff as this place has it all. The views of the lake are breathless and the one level living is exactly what you need. The three season porch is great and the TV room perfect for the kids or adults to relax in. If you can ever find an opening in the summer I suggest that you take it and see what I am talking about. We just reserved next year for the 5th start year and plan to do so for many more to come. Dorothy and Glen are easily the easiest people to work with and truly want your experience to be memorable…Thank you for allowing us this opportunity.

Good place and good times

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the Lake Miltona house. Dorothy and Glen are great to work with. Very professional, personal, genuine and helpful. Thank you for sharing this property with us. We were very comfortable and appreciated the flat access to the water. We do a lot of cooking and found all we needed in the kitchen to cook and serve our large family. When we were not outside, the screen porch was a sweet spot. At the end of our stay we wanted more! Already looking forward to 2017 and more relaxation, catching more fish, playing more games, more family fun, and making more memories.

Booking again next year!!

  • 5 of 5

My family of 19 had a great stay on Lake Miltona. Glen/Dorothy's home was very spacious and accommodating for all of us. We had ages from 9 months to over 55 years old. The bedrooms in the back were very private and quiet for the babies to sleep and for anyone else who may have needed a nap. The kitchen set up was clean had everything we needed to make meals for our group. The large kitchen/living room plus the TV room was very accommodating for all of us. We had one rain day and everyone seemed to fit just comfortably in this home. The spacious lake level yard was great for yard games, grilling, campfires and watching the kids spend time in the water or on the dock fishing. Adequate parking for 7-8 vehicles, probably more. A Campground is right next door that offers ice and bait plus a public boat landing to launch our boat. Lake Miltona is a great lake for fishing and boating. I highly recommend Glen/Dorothy's home for families or large groups. We have been doing a family vacation for about 5 years and agree that this has been our best stay so far. We plan to rebook for next year.

Cozy for a Chilly Weekend

  • 5 of 5

We spent our 10 year college reunion together here. Though the weather was quite cool, the living room/kitchen area was large enough for all 11 of us to comfortably enjoy a weekend of games, cooking, and conversation. Very cozy. Highly recommend. Great kitchen set up. Good fishing off the dock. Clean and comfortable. Good correspondence with owners when we had questions.
