Casuarina Point is a unique location with beautiful, crystal clear shallow water. This area boasts some of the prettiest white sand beaches in the world, one of which is at your doorstep. The reef that protects the bay provides for calm waters unlike many oceanfront beaches. With several small uninhabited islands in the area you can always find something to do. There are blue holes, shoals, flats, sand banks and at least three very private beaches for swimming and picnics. If you like fly fishing for the elusive bone fish you need not go any further than right out the front door. Several of our guests have caught them wading less the five hundred feet from the house. The sand banks in the area are a great place for the young and old to discover new things like rays, star fish, shelling and sand dollars which we can guarantee that you will find. There is much to do if you wish to get out and explore.
For your use there are four kayaks, one of which is a tandem and the option to rent our small motorized boat. The thirteen foot Boston Whaler will allow you to venture further and discover even more. Our home is situated such that the beach is on one side and the canal access is on the other therefore you will be able to use the boat regardless of tides. Our home is the only one in Casuarina Point that has no restriction due to tides.
Should you decide on having us arrange deep sea, bonefish or snorkeling charters the captains can pick you up at your doorstep. Once again the only place in Casuarina where this can be done.
Our home is elevated for good breezes and provides spectacular views of the blues and greens of the bay during the day and millions of stars at night. Watching the moon or sunrise over the bay can be an exhilarating experience. Beach chairs are provided along with lounge chairs for the sun deck. On the covered porch we have an outdoor dining table with seating, Adirondack chairs, lounge chairs and a stainless steel Kitchenaid grill. There is a Tiki Hut on the beach with beach chairs that provide you some shade on the beach and a nice place to have lunch.
Key Lime Beach House is very well outfitted as listed below with ample space and very comfortable furnishings as you will see by the photos and items listed. Wireless internet and cable throughout, local and internet phone provided.
3 ensuite bedrooms, all with spectacular beach views, top quality furnishings, linens and towels. 1 king bed with double shower & walk-in closet with entrance to covered deck. 1 queen bed with shower and large closet and entrance to covered deck. 1 queen bed with tub/shower & closet. All bedrooms have flat screen TV’s and excellent views of the beach, bay, ocean and surrounding islands. For those who may like to sleep late the bedrooms have blackout curtains for the areas where sunlight may be an issue.
The living area has leather sofa, love seat and chair with ottoman. A 52” Flat Screen Smart TV, DVD player, IPod doc and surround sound. Games, Movies, Music provided, Books and Cookbooks.
Inside dining table has seating for eight. Breakfast bar seating for three, porch dining seating for six.

Donnarees@msn.com purchased this House in 2012
Why Donnarees@msn.com chose South Abaco
As children, both of us spent our summers in nearby Cherokee Sound, James with his father who owned a bonefishing camp and Donna with her Grandparents who lived there. We both always have loved the sun and sea and the quiet, relaxing beauty of Casuarina Point and the surrounding area. We raised our children and always dreamed of returning. We enjoy taking a sunset boat ride or kayaking in the Bay. Sometimes we just sit and float with the tide. The water is so crystal clear you can see so many sea creatures that you have never seen before. Sometimes there will be a pod of dolphin playing in the channel in front of the house. So here we are, living our dream!
What makes this House unique
We feel safe here and the Abaco’s friendly people just make life wonderful. We purchased the property 13 years ago and always dreamed of having a beach home. This property is unique because we enjoy boating and we can keep our boat at the back door and just steps to the beach to go for a swim. We love watching the schools of Bonefish 'tailing' as they feed in the shallow water. The boat basin is like our very own aquarium with tarpon, bonefish, mullet, many other small fish and crabs. We just love being close to nature and the private location at the end of the community. We can take a moonlit stroll on the beach and not worry about a thing.

Stayed at Key Lime House
Ideal location and great hospitality from Donna and Jamie. Location is ideal with easy access to fishing, boating, and swimming. House is resort-like. Will definitely return for another vacation.
Great house and great location
Our family of 6 rented this house for a week. What a perfect choice, the owners are more than helpful and the house is perfect. The views form the house are amazing, the beach is a few steps away you get to use the boat, the paddle boards and the kayak. The place is quiet since you are away from the town, but it is still easily accessible. The owners are ready to help at any time. When we first arrived we had forgotten to purchase the mixers for our drinks, a few minutes later they had brought us some. Would highly recommend for a quiet getaway. Will be back for sure.
Can't wait to go back!
My wife and I stayed at the Key Lime Beach House for our 10th anniversary in August 2017. We had done the "resort thing" at various places around the Caribbean and wanted a different experience. The two houses are nestled in Little Harbor Bay and definitely provided the peace and quiet we were looking for. The house is gorgeous and comfortable. Here are a few tips we learned after our first trip to Abaco:
- If you're looking to visit many of the bars/restaurants in Abaco, be sure to do some research as many of these places are closed during the off-season. We didn't realize this prior to booking so we were a little disappointed that we missed out. You can still take the ferry to Hope Town and Guana Cay as many places on those islands are still open.
- Definitely take the ferry to explore the other areas of Abaco. Each Cay has its own vibe and different things to see and do. I highly recommend doing some exploring.
- Bring as much of your own food as you can. Prepackaged foods (cereal, crackers, etc.) are pretty expensive (roughly double). If these things are important to you, then try to bring your own items
- Be cognizant of your flight arrival time. Our flight was delayed and we almost didn't make it to the store when we arrived. Many places close around 7-8pm including liquor stores.
- Car rental is a pain and expensive. We rented a car from from the rental car company in the airport and it was $85/day for a car that was, shall we say, not so nice. The tire got a flat and I had to take it back to get a new one. In other words, don't expect to be able to rent a "nice" car. I can't speak for the other car rental places on the island, but I don't imagine they'd be much better.
- Be sure to bring a bottle of bug spray with DEET. They have small, mosquito-like insects that will bite and cause some discomfort. Not a big deal if you have bug spray though.
- Don't be afraid to ask the locals for directions. The Bahamian people are very friendly and tolerant of visitors. I made the mistake of forgetting the map that Donna had emailed me prior to our arrival, and no one really carries maps anymore.
- The house has wifi, but your phone will not work outside of that. If you have a domestic phone carrier, don't expect to have internet on your phone outside of the house.
Perfect property and host
We enjoyed a perfect holiday at the house and on the island of abaco. Every thought has clearly gone into giving guests a perfect stay - kitchen was exceptionally well equipped and spotlessly clean. As were the bathrooms. The property is beautifully furnished. Outside is just as good - the deck over looking the bay is superb, with table and chairs, lounge chairs and BBQ. The kayaks and sup were great and used often. We particularly loved having the boat, we had some truly memorable trips out into the bay fishing, watching sting rays and snorkelling. We took the boat to the Spit, Cherokee Sound and secluded beaches - perfect. Whilst on abaco we also island hopped the cays using the Albury ferry service, this was a first class service which runs like clock work we enjoyed trips to guana cay and elbow cay - both islands were stunning and we would highly recommend a stay. Donna was the perfect host, thank you Donna :)
Perfect Family Vacation!
Perfect vacation rental for families of all ages! House was perfect and located in the most perfect place on the ocean. We traveled with our four children, ages 3-11, and it was ideal for all of them. The tide is easy and low most of the time, so our littlest ones could swim at any point in the day. Lots of shelling, swimming, and playing in the sand and my husband loved taking the boat out. You can relax all day under the tiki hut or you can be as active as you want with the kayaks, paddle board, etc. The Key Lime house is beautiful and spacious. The house comes stocked with anything and everything you could ask for. Grilling out on the spacious back deck was a favorite during our stay. The owners are so helpful and will walk you through your stay, including the places you will want to experience while you are there. We've traveled to many beaches and this won as our favorite by far. Perfect get-a-way!
Fabulous view! Peaceful and FUN!
A group of us stayed at the Key Lime Beach House for 5 nights and absolutely loved every minute of it! Donna and James were very accommodating and the house was absolutely spectacular. It was clean, cozy, and has an incredible view of the water. Our own beach and tiki hut to relax under was especially nice. The jon boat was perfect for 4 of us ladies to sport around in. Ran great and was easy to use. We had lunch and beers on our very own private island on the last day of the trip. The waters are full of sea turtles and we also spotted a nurse shark, a morey eel and flamingo tongues while snorkeling a shallow reef nearby. On the morning of our departure a flock of Abaco Parrots came to visit in the casuarina trees in the front yard. What an amazing trip!
It was really wonderful having your group at the beach house and Jamie and I are thrilled that you enjoyed the area and the sea life it has. We hope that you will return to discover even more! Thank you for taking the time to write a review.
Located on a beautiful white, powder sand beach overlooking Cherokee Sound, a breathtaking shallow water bay. Great spot to wade and fly fish for bonefish or explore one of the many blue holes. Also located on the property is your very own private boat basin it's like an aquariam. Stand on the seawall and fish for snapper and bonefish. Very private area, on a dead end road. Sunbathe in privacy on the sundeck. At low tide there is a sand flat, ideal for shelling. Pete's Pub is a great place to relax and enjoy a tropical libation or have a fabulous dinner with the catch of the day and enjoy the local flavour of Abaco. For guided fly fishing, there is a local guide at the end of the street, well worth spending the day with. Across the bay at Cherokee Sound there are Deep Sea fishing charters available. Off shore there are several small uninhabited islands called 'cays' that have beautiful beaches, great for picnicing or shelling/beachcombing. Just a 5 minute drive south of Casuarina Point you can view the rare Abaco Parrot, a spectacular beauty. A day trip to one of the many outer cays, such as Hope Town with it's candy striped light house or Green Turtle Cay's sculpture garden and museum. Come enjoy the island life, relax and play! This will be the best vacation EVER! This beachfront rental in South Abaco is great place for Abaco Vacations, kayaking, boating, fishing, bone fishing, fly fishing, wading, swimming, snorkeling, diving, picnicing, barbqueing, deep sea fishing, fresh fish, beachcombing, shelling.
