About Paul Tinkler

Paul and Libby grew up in Greenwood, SC, with the Blue Ridge in their back yard. For many years have lived in Charleston, SC, where they raised their daughter and son.

Paul Tinkler purchased this cottage in 2003

Why Paul Tinkler chose North Carolina

In 2001 they bought property on Nancy Mountain. They completed their dream house in 2003 and recently decided to share it with others on VRBO. Blue Ridge Manor is convenient to 'city life' in Brevard, yet remote. A perfect location for day hikes or for simply enjoying the surrounding natural beauty without leaving the back deck. The area is rich in history beginning with the Cherokees and moving on to moonshine production and timbering.

What makes this cottage unique

The home is a short hike from some beautiful waterfalls, a serene pond and the public lands in South Carolina. Jocassee Gorges State Park and Dupont Forest are nearby. You can simply relax and listen for the hoot of the barred owl or roam the adjoining 400 acres in hopes of spotting a bear or a turkey.

My family is still thanking me for finding this home.

  • 5 of 5

The house and the view will absolutely take your breath away. And then there are the hikes and the waterfalls and the most interesting main streets in Brevard and Cherokee and Bryson City and, of course, Asheville. Floats down lazy rivers, sliding down a waterfall or swimming at the bottom of one. I do not know where you will find a better place to vacation -- can just sit on the deck and watch the wonder of the ever changing mountains -- read a book with nature as the back drop -- or explore an area full of rich history.

Not sure how the owner found this perfect spot and designed the perfect house to go on it -- this will be THE BEST VACATION EVER for my family.

My friends, and I, found the home to be spacious, beautiful, and well stocked. The views were stunning. It would be real easy to check in and never leave.

Beautiful, spacious home!

  • 5 of 5

Our cycling team of both road and mountain bikers enjoyed this beautiful spot. It was a bit difficult to access due to the gravel road, but it was well worth it with a gorgeous view from the back porch. There were plenty of bedrooms for everyone to sleep, and enough bathrooms to accommodate the vast quantities of showers needed after a long day exploring the mountains on two wheels.

Our previous living arrangements fell through last minute, and Paul was very accommodating and helpful. The seclusion is nice, the views worth it, and we enjoyed our stay here very much! Highly recommend it.

Owner's Response: Thank you. We are glad you enjoyed the stay. The area is ideal for cyclists. We agree that it is well worth the trip down the gravel road. The solitude is well worth it. We hope y'all will come visit again! Paul
