About the property

4 Bedrooms, 3.5 Baths, Sleeps 12

Ground level

This property is part of a duplex set over three levels. Ski along the run, down the street and straight up to the door. The place feels warm and inviting as you enter into the foyer, with slate tile floors and wooden architraves, railings and doors. There’s a bench to sit and take off those ski or snowboard boots, which can go straight into the large drying room off the entry. This room has plenty of shelving, hanging space, room for boots, boards and skis so they’re out of the way until you want to head up the hill again! You can also drive straight into the double garage and access the foyer to unload your luggage, snow gear and groceries.

First level

Head up the stairs to the first level of the property where you’ll find the open-plan living areas. Your eye will immediately be drawn to the gas fireplace set into a stone feature wall, stretching from the floor to the loft ceiling. Cathedral windows open the room up to the Monashee Mountains and lead out onto the deck where you’ll be soaking in the hot tub in no time! Relax in the stylish wraparound black leather reclining couch or get in first and put your feet up in the reclining armchair right next to the window. Sitting here, you can almost reach to make yourself a cocktail at the bar in the living room or pour a glass of wine from the cooler fridge. Relax in front of the large flat screen TV or put on a DVD. The dining table seats 8 so there’s plenty of room to get the family together and play a board game from the collection. The room is tastefully decorated with paintings, flowers and pendant lighting. Check out the deck at the back of the property where you can cook up a BBQ feast and sit with a beer apres ski on a bluebird day.

Rainbows End has the ideal kitchen for someone who loves to cook and entertain. Friends can sit at the breakfast bar and enjoy a wine and a chat while meals are being prepared. The kitchen can only be described as elegant, with polished wood cabinets, granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances, including an all important dishwasher because nobody wants to do dishes on vacation! The attention to detail throughout the property is impeccable and the kitchen is no different, it’s equipped with all the appliances, glassware and crockery you could need.

Off the living areas is a half bath, with a toilet and vanity. The laundry is down the hall, across from a large linen closet, and has a washer, dryer and clothes drying rack. At the end of the hall is the master bedroom of the property, featuring a king size bed, and beautiful bedroom suite comprising bedside tables, chest of drawers and a full length freestanding mirror. Lie in bed and watch TV or curl up on the padded window seat and watch the snow falling outside. Hide your luggage away in the walk-in-robe. The ensuite is large and luxurious, it has a steam shower with a seat and huge shower head so you can warm up properly after a long day out in the snow.

Upper level

On the upper level of the property you’ll find a light and airy loft overlooking the living areas below. This space can sleep 2 people on the leather sofa bed or can be used as a sitting room. If you didn’t get enough activity on the slopes, there’s a cross trainer for a little extra workout. Enter the main bathroom off the loft, with a lovely stone tile vanity, slate tile floors, toilet and a double shower with built-in seats. Also off the loft is a bedroom, which has an open window looking down onto the living areas but is private enough that you can’t be seen from below. This room has a queen bed, large bay window, desk and plenty of drawers for storage.

The two other bedrooms are down the hallway leading from the loft. One is fitted with two queen beds,a bedside table, small window and double closet. The second bedroom is very similar to the downstairs master bedroom. Sleep in a queen bed, read a book on the lovely padded window seat or chill out in front of the TV. The room has a walk-in-robe and ensuite with a bath/shower.

Vacation rental at Big White

  • 5 of 5

Reviewer Comments:

My family group stayed at Rainbow's End. This is a side by side duplex that has some views and is very well laid out for a group. The management company was exceptional, and took care of any request we had. My only complaints would be that this unit was not ski in or out if the road was plowed, and that the forced air heating unit made so much noise that it would wake you up. Apart from these points, the unit was wonderfully stocked for cooking, well appointed for spending time as a group, and within walking distance of the village. I would definitely choose to rent from RentChalets in the future.

Great House for Two Families

  • 5 of 5

Rating Details:

The property manager was very helpful.

The vacation rental was very clean.

I was more than happy with the location.

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental.

Reviewer Comments:

The carpet did not appear to be vacuumed, as there were a few things left behind. The furniture is not very nice given the price of this rental, and the beds and bed linens were only ok (very stiff linens, and oddly short beds in at least one of the rooms). However, overall we had a great stay. House laid out really well. Great mud room at entry level for boots and ski gear. Property management was very professional and responsive.
