Carrie purchased this house in 2006
LOCATION LOCATION! I am a sucker for older quaint homes, this was built in 1920's.
you can ride a bike to Town Lake, can be downtown in 1 minute. 12 minutes to the Airport.
Spent 4 nights over the USGP weekend and couldn't have asked for a better house or location. Never going back to hotels again. Home (kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, etc.) was well appointed, everything worked, and space was more than enough for 2 but could easily accommodate 4. Location is super close to Rainey Street and the rest of downtown - a real plus. The neighborhood though was real quiet at night so slept like a baby. All Good! Hope I have a chance to come back.
I stayed in this house for a few days while travelling to the US on business. The house is small but very comfortable. I believe it has been recently renovated. It is tastefully decorated and the owners have obviously made an effort to pay attention to little details. Equipment is basic but there was everything I needed. The area is very quiet. It's not far from Downtown Austin (10 mins walk max) but I recommend having a car for grocery shopping and other necessities .
Overall this is a great find and I would not hesitate to stay there again.
First time to Austin. This house is perfectly located about 5 minutes to Rainey Street, which comes more alive the later in the night you venture down there! All the amenities we needed were there - fully stocked kitchen, nice lounging area with tv, could close off the doors to the bedroom and bathroom for privacy, A/C (which for Labor Day was much needed). Safe area, quiet street. Great spot for breakfast/ lunch/ dinner a 5 minute walk away - Cenote. I would come back and stay here again.
To give some background, this was 4 adult males staying here.
This property was in the perfect spot for getting around downtown Austin. The proximity to the Bike Share Program and abundance of free rides available will make us think twice about getting a rental car next time.
Having plenty of extra kitchen supplies made cooking fun for us and was an even better kitchen than we expected.
The Window AC units and fans kept us comfortable all night long.
The customer service was excellent with the owner warning us before booking that this site is not ideal for 4 people and that there are other properties further from downtown if you are looking to sleep 4. I would not recommend having more than three people stay here if you don't want to get very close and personal. We are used to traveling with not worrying about sleeping multiple people per bed and was a non-issue for us.
We stayed at this cute home for over a month while we were transitioning back to Austin. The home was so convenient and provided everything that we needed while we were settling. It was roomy and provided all of the conveniences that we were looking for. The location is perfect as we were able to walk over to Rainey Street to get a bite to eat, have a few drinks, or listen to live music. There is a fantastic vegan taco trailer down the street! We used the Hike and Bike Trail often and appreciate how easy it is to access the trail. We enjoyed many sunsets over Lady Bird Lake. The neighborhood park was a great place to meet people in the evenings as they were walking their dogs. The neighbors were friendly and came over to say hi to us. Carrie and her team were very responsive to any of our needs. Overall, this was a fantastic place to stay!
My husband and I traveled to Austin to attend a convention. We added a few days more to our stay in order to get to know this area of Texas. Well, the weather at this time did not cooperate. But we were still able to enjoy the city and made a short day trip to Fredericksburg.
My husband had to work every day a few hours during our stay. This was absolutely no problem. The wifi connection worked perfectly, and the apartment is large enough to "spread out" and each of us was able to do what he wanted without bothering the other. Plus the kitchen is well equipped, a plus for me.
Carrie's house is perfectly located near downtown Austin and the parks. Within minutes walking we were at Rainey Street and all the action you can find there such as good food, drinks and live music. A little further and you are in the middle of downtown and its bustling streets and night life.
We enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you Carrie!
only a few blocks to beautiful Town Lake- walk or rent a bike.
