I grew up next door to this cabin. It had originally belonged to my grandmother/grandfather and was passed down to me. I played professional baseball for 14 years and was part of the 2003 World Series Champion Florida Marlins.
This property has been in my family since the sixties. The mountains, streams, and trees are all a part of me and my upbringing.
The stars on a cold crisp nite. The day to day changes on the mountaintops whether it be the color of the leaves or the ice that forms near the very top. The wildlife that always seems to make an appearance and make each day feel unique. The history of the valley...a steam train used to travel back through the value to transport wood and coal.
Great spot with mountain in back of the property. House is what I expected. It was clean and comfortable.
I had hoped that the fireplace was wood and not gas but overall it was a good experience. Owner and his dad
are very nice and attentive.
the cabin is very clean and comfortable, with everything provided and Nate's dad Lou is always helpful and friendly. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful get away. It was our 3rd stay and I hope to be back .
The cabin far exceeded our expectations. It was cozy and inviting. Warm atmosphere and a great yard complete with fire and horseshoe pits. We're looking forward to our next visit!
Love the big table in he kitchen where all can gather, the covered front porch and the super comfy brand new master bed!
We enjoyed our first visit to this part of the country. The outdoor area was so beautiful from the great property around the cabin to the gorgeous creek right across the road. We had a lovely fire in the fire pit and there is a nice gas fireplace in the cabin. We traveled to the Finger Lakes several times and had a good time. The kitchen has a huge table that is perfect for preparing and eating. We found the best restaurant in Towanda: Vincent's! Excellent food. The only cons I have are that the furniture is pretty old and hard to sit on for very long. The downstairs bathroom has an unpleasant odor that just would not go away even with the window open. But overall- nice place, beautiful area and relaxing vacation.
Before we arrived I had expected a small cabin but was pleasantly surprised to find it was bigger than I expected and better stocked than I had anticipated. They even had a train set tucked away which my young children enjoyed playing with. The air-conditioning worked great but when asked for a fan to use for white-noise he was happy to provide one from their own home. The master bedroom seemed new and felt nice with contemporary lighting. The bathrooms were clean.
They provided phone numbers where we could reach them at any time and were willing to help but also gave us space and privacy.
Our children enjoyed exploring. The creek was a big hit as played in it, looked for fish, skipped rocks and had fun. We also discovered a pond out back full of salamanders (which my son was able to catch one).
The prior tenants had not taken care of the property yet repairs had already been taken care of before we came. The only evidence of it was that the carpet was drying from the cleaning they had done.
All-in-all we were very happy with our stay here. It is a good place to go to get away from the busyness of life.
Located in a very rural and picturesque area in Southwestern Bradford County, the cabin is just off the road with the Schrader Creek directly in front. The Creek can have a white water rating from 1-4 depending upon the season and rainfall. Many miles of dirt roads and meandering streams that are great for trout fishing, mountain biking, hiking, cross country skiing or rafting/kayaking. Lamoka is a beautiful place to see with large rock formations and great swimming holes. Sunfish Pond County Park can also be found nearby for great fishing and camping. The Finger Lakes and wineries along with the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon all make great day trips. Eagles Mere and Worlds End State Park all also less than an hour away. The cabin sits in a green valley between three mountains that is within 1/2 mile of 35,000 acres of state games lands which offers great hunting and scenery.
