Charming house, well kept, close to everything

  • 5 of 5

We are two families, 4 adults, 4 kids and two dogs. The house was very spacious. We spent a lot of time outdoors. The yard is fully fenced with tall privacy trees. It is pretty easy to walk or drive into town. Kitchen and bathrooms had all the necessary essentials. We saw a recommendation in the house folder to take walking tour of the art sculptures at Whitman college. That was amazing. We will definitely come back to this place when we visit Walla Walla again. Also, Alexa was super responsive through the whole booking process.

Perfect spot for family gathering

  • 5 of 5

This was a really great place for our family to gather for our daughter's graduation from Whitman. The house has everything you need, even lots of the basics for cooking (oil, salt, pepper, sugar, flour, ketchup....). The kitchen is really big and accommodating. The sitting rooms and outdoor space are great. And the bedrooms and baths were just right. Really the space made for a wonderful celebration. Everyone commented on how well it worked out.

There were two safety things that I'd recommend you look into:

1. When we arrived, the floor in kitchen was super slippery. (Alexa came and remedied this when notified.)

2. There are no railings on the back stairs. Our elderly parents were along and the absence of railings was a bit scary sometimes.

Livin' Large In Walla Walla

  • 5 of 5

Wine business brought us here and the wonderful ambiance of this place will bring us back! And the Whitman House will definitely be our base. Ten minutes' leisurely walk through the nicest, oldest part of town brings you right to the heart of Walla Walla with something like 25 tasting rooms right there. Ten minutes in the car gets you to the airport winemaking district and nothing else is very far away. The house is great fun! Big, clean and well-equipped, it has everything for a crowd! Yeah, sure, I wish they had sharper knives and a decent pair of tongs, but we cooked three days' worth of great meals and ate and drank like kings without breaking a sweat. I loved our bedroom (good sheets!) and everyone else slept well too. Wish there was more than one bathroom on the second floor with the bedrooms but it wasn't really a problem. Hey...the house was built in 1905 so you get the good and the bad with that. The bathroom downstairs has a nicely remodeled shower and resolved any conflicts regarding those with more immediate needs. Expansive common areas, a reasonable kitchen and plenty of backyard space (we used the fire pit every night) made it an easy place to enjoy! I would definitely go back! Thanks for a great stay.

Great location, large house, well maintained, really nice kitchen and great rooms.

  • 5 of 5

The Whitman House is a large home that is very conveniently situated in Walla Walla. The house is well maintained and there is a great backyard. The kitchen is large and well stocked, and the great room has lots of room - great for entertaining! There are several large bedrooms. There is only 1 bathroom upstairs, so some guests will need to come downstairs to use the bathroom and shower that is adjacent to the kitchen in the laundry room. We stayed here for our son's graduation from Whitman last week, and overall the house was perfect for our weekend, especially given its size, cleanliness, and convenient location (close to downtown and to the College). The description in the listing was right on target. We would definitely recommend the property to friends.

Girl's Weekend

  • 5 of 5

We had an absolutely wonderful time at the Whitman House! Spacious and comfortable mixed with charm that that doesn't go unnoticed! We crafted, took walks, enjoyed the wineries and had our own formal dinner in the dining room. We look forward to more visits! This was our second time staying at the Whitman House.
